Mein Thumbcraft—IdleT Dedicated Minecraft Server
ThunderPeel2001 replied to MrHoatzin's topic in Multiplayer Networking
Thanks -
Well, it's known here in the UK. It's not exactly well regarded or anything, though. Also noteworthly: Apparently donating a shit-ton of money and then making a small request that would require little or no effort from the podcasters is an invitation for abuse.

Good luck! (I'm currently unable to face debugging this PHP I've written... I'll get there eventually!)

To be exactly exact, the first puzzle is unvoiced until Bernard solves it. That's when he says, "Ahh, a secret passage... This is all too easy!" Although I think we're all saying the same thing now. Also: Shouldn't you be in work?
-
So your argument is that, if you've never done something before, you will therefore never do it? "I've never killed anyone before, M'lud, so it's clear that I wasn't the murderer!" It feels like you're trolling again, to be honest. I think if you had any sense of decency you'd apologise for being rude to me in the first instance, and then not taking the time to read what you were responding to in the second, instead of arguing with every little thing.

That was actually still part of the opening -- the first "puzzle" to be exact

Can you trust the "Can You Run It?" site?

I think they just picked a number so they could increase it. With Vista it was 1.0 to 5.9. -
Just to be clear, you're talking about subtitles INSTEAD OF voice, not WITH voice? The only time I'd do that is if the voice acting is terrible, and the dialogue was being ruined by it. Luckily with games they're usually both as bad as each other. Also, DOTT was released in the days of floppy disk -- so only the intro sequence and outro sequence came with speech. That's how I played it the first time. It didn't detract from the experience.

I do not exist. You did not hear anything. I was never here.

Huh. That's pretty nuts that a modern graphics card could have such "poor" 2D performance. I guess this conclusively proves that the score is pretty useless. Well there you go. -
Then you can understand why someone might think you were genuinely trolling...

That's seriously confusing. You can run Crysis 2 at max on your 3.4 machine? Wow. So what's the component that brings it down to 3.4? -
Explain it to us, won't you?

In what way? -
The answer is that it would be free and easy to do.

The people who are fighting stereo seem to be imagining some crazy world that will blow their minds. Stereo became standard 50 years ago, folks! It's common place everywhere. The only place where it's lacking is in Woody Allen movies and podcasts, and that's mostly due to amateurs and bandwidth (in the latter case). Professional radio, even talk radio, is in stereo. You listen to it all the time (provided you listen to talk radio). Someone needs to hack together a snippet of Idle Thumbs to show how unjarring it sounds, but also how it helps make it clearer who's talking. Don't wham one person 100% left, another 100% right, and the final guy in the middle. Keep them all centered with slight variation to the left and right for two of them, as James pointed out. If there's ever been a podcast that could benefit from understanding who's saying what, it's this one. Here's the example James posted, embedded: ONhK9IgWCoI

It's like all those horrible stereotypes of the 80s are coming true... and getting worse

I totally agree In the few IT podcasts I listened to it was very hard to discern who was saying what, especially when it was just people laughing or making a quick comment. And for purists you can also release a mono version. Someone should create a demo to show the difference it will make to the clarity.

THANK YOU! I thought I was losing my mind in that thread.

I seem to recall someone saying that they were going to try and make the documentary spoiler free. (Did I make that up? Anyone else remember hearing this?) I'd also love to see the brain storming process, and really see how things come together in a project like this, but I'd also like to be surprised when I finally play it... Can they do both?
-
I did

At least your posts are getting shorter, even if the content is staying the same

As has been discussed extensively in this thread, the SCUMM engine was updated for the MI:SE's. And even if it hadn't already been updated, ScummVM has also taken care of it. I can only assuming you're trolling at this point?
