Whereas Bamblesquatch is met with immediate understanding? I'm @ThunderPeel2001, but I barely Tweet and may not take the time to follow you back... Apologies in advance if you follow me! Edit: Ugh! I'm an idiot. I'm actually @-- goes to show how much I use Twitter!

Sorry, wrong forum

Haha. I love the one that says "Under Construction".

My character in Skyrim is a big cat named Mr Frisky.

I immediately went to, "It's been years since I've seen my penis".

Hurrah!

Just so you're not disappointed, it's worth noting that some stuff is described as being exclusive to the Kickstarter campaign. The PDF isn't, though, and you're right: I doubt it will be worth £45 and it will probably be available elsewhere for less. Speaking of rewards: I'd love to own the hardcover book, but yikes!, that's too much. I'm kind of surprised they haven't added any more to the $250 tier. There's a massive leap from $100 to $500. Very strange to leave that gap. Those who donated $100 have to take the leap to $500 if they want any more goodies... and that's well into the "stupid money" territory (for most of us, anyway). As subbes pointed out, I do wonder if all these t-shirts and posters are actually going to gain them more than they're going to get back. I hope so!

That's so true. Plus I always find myself being unable to not look anyway. I'm my own worst enemy.

You mean like... Peter's new BBC 6 Music show which was on this morning? Maybe you're right, but if he wasn't Peter Serafinowicz, and instead was just a normal dude you worked with, would you Tweet him? If you're waiting for the next time you bump into him, you may wait a long time...? It's a tricky one, I guess, but it's annoying/silly that fame can get in the way. Here's my favourite Tim Shafer/fake money photo that everyone has already seen:

I'm glad somebody posted this, though: This is the truth about the internet: It's all fun and games until some angry, frustrated whiner complains. Christ. I think I preferred media when everybody didn't have a voice. Actually thinking about this more: I do hate it when I've enjoyed something harmless and completely innocent, like Tim Shafer pretending to use fake money as toilet paper, and I get drawn into the comments, hoping to see my thoughts on the matter reflected back, only to find a douche venting his spleen. 99.999% of people seeing that page probably enjoyed it, but people are more compelled to say something when they see something "wrong". So that 00.001% tends to get represented. And that one comment colours the whole experience. As Stephen Fry once put it (in reference to the very same thing, actually), it only takes one turd to spoil the bath. I'm sick of finding turds in my bath.

Who knew penguins were so entertaining? Other animals could learn a thing or two.

Yes, that appears to be true from the people I know in LA. Which isn't to say you're forgotten, they all seem to still love each other when their paths cross again -- and really, when you've been down the foxhole with someone, with all the stresses and long hours that go into TV production -- it's not difficult to see why. But as you say, then you're with a whole new family on a different show, working crazy hours with them instead.

Sends them a Tweet! It might make you feel better.

Yep, that about does it. Although I can't see an end to DLC quests any time soon.
-
Someone's actually doing that... well, except for the bit where they're using money: http://grimstopmo.blogspot.com/

Games like The Sims have done a really great job at marring DLC, and making it look like nothing more than a cheap and lazy money-making machine. But despite this, there's still the impression that ultimately we're being charged extra to play the "full" version. This feeling is compounded when, in a few year's time, all the DLC is bundled with the main game for a "Game of the Year Edition" or "Complete Edition". Really the industry should be aware of this and come up with something to change our perceptions, rather than just plodding along with the same plan that keeps riling everyone up.

To Ben: Ack. I checked this on March 1st, when you next reminded me, but they all had expired, sad to say.

Just finished Limbo. Found the thing to be massively overrated. Yes, it's got a nice visual design, but there's plenty to dislike: Typical game "we can't tell a coherent story, so we'll rely on vague darkness and pretend we're profound" (see Braid), but by far the worse thing was the trial and error puzzles. I felt like I was playing a game from 1990. I know I'm in a minority on this!

Hmm. This isn't adding up. What are they going to do? Sell a $1000 console, and give a $1000's worth of Valve games with it to try and sell it to Joe Blo? Weird stuff.

What can I say?

Ok, well I spoke with some other forum, and I do believe sending it back to MS is the most sensible option. I'm not even going to try the "towel trick". What about you, Rodi?
