Didn't I already write this... in 2007? http://thunderpeel2001.blogspot.com/2007/03/peter-molyneuxs-emotional-stuff.html

Got my 360 back today... Apparently I've been given a motherboard from July 2007, if the internets can be trusted. Dang. I was hoping for a more recent, RRoD proofed mobo. Anyways, it's nice to have it back

What was the most Idle Thumbs thing to happen without Idle Thumbs?
ThunderPeel2001 replied to I_smell's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Molyneux is more than deserved of everyone's respect... just from the games he's created (and invented!). He's just managed to create a PR nightmare around the things he says. His heart is in the right place, though: He wants to make awesome and unique games. -
Some great stuff there. I wonder if Tim will comment anywhere?

Last 12 mins for those that missed it: oyvb5xHFoKM As for the extra money, I got the figure from... Kickstarter.com! Although it's changed again. Hmm. I guess DF probably know best.

So, now the dust has settled, it seems the final total was: $3,746,371 (including money from the premium backers). Not too shabby!

POO FIGHT!!! (I like how the person mentions this like it's something that people commonly do.) -
I really enjoyed Tim's impromptu speech about not letting companies decide what we watch, listen to, play -- I really hope this is the game-changer people are suggesting it might be.
-
Don't forget the 200k+ that Tim mentioned from the premium backers.
-
Yeah, same here... but have you ever tried to pay with one? In other news... the video link is (almost) live! http://www.ustream.tv/channel/double-fine-adventure

Haha! It's a good deal, isn't it?
-
I'd probably give money to Peter Molyneux to make a new/old skool god game. And if Firefly ever appeared, I'd probably sell everything I owned.
-
Well, I just backed it. I like those old games, and I imagine there will be somewhat of a modern sensibility to it when it's done. Good luck to them

You get an awful lot for $100... An exclusive "Collector's Edition" of the game in an Old Skool Cardboard Box™, just like a real adventure game! An exclusive "Double Fine Adventure Backer" t-shirt. Your name in the game's credits. An exclusive "Double Fine Adventure" poster (suitable for framing) A copy of the DVD/Bluray of the finished documentary. A PDF version of the book of the game (with artwork, scripts, secrets, and more). The game soundtrack. Documentary soundtrack. Exclusive access to the Beta on Steam. Access to the video series, and access the private discussion community. Oh, and a copy of the game. Pretty nifty, if you ask me

This seems pretty interesting... Especially given that Brian Fargo is going to be working on it... for free. And if they only make $900,000, he's prepared to chip in the final $100,000 to make this game. That's real passion, and it makes me want to support this game!

I'm awfully close at the moment! Fingers crossed it will all go through, though. Amazon is pretty clever, and they know the dates that the payment is valid from and until -- if your card expired before the from date, I imagine it would probably be flagged. And for cards that don't work immediately, they'll probably keep trying and pestering people. In short: Either way, they should have a butt load of money

Hurrah! I bet there's a celebration going on somewhere right now! Congrats to the team!

Big final update: It's less than 24 hours until the end of our Kickstarter campaign, and we're rapidly approaching $3,000,000. This is cause for celebration! Please join us tomorrow as we count down the final minutes until we embark on this crazy adventure. It all begins at 3:00 pm PST right here: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/double-fine-adventure To those of you who have backed the project, thank you so much! We'll see you soon on the backer forums! To those of you who haven't yet backed the project, there's still time! Many of these rewards will only be made available to backers, so act now if you don't want to miss out. We've been hearing from a lot of folks that would like to back the project, but are unable to do so because they are outside of the US and do not have a credit card. Well, here's Tim Schafer to the rescue with information on how to obtain a pre-paid credit card to back the project: gbXygxSObUQ An important detail-in order for your payment to go through with a pre-paid credit card, you must add $1 more to the card than you are pledging. More details can be found here: http://www.tinyurl.com/NoCreditAdventure And if we could make one last request, please do not refresh the Kickstarter page in the final minutes, as we don't want to break Kickstarter again during this high traffic time. Plus, the party is going to be over on Ustream! SEE YOU TOMORROW!!!!!!

Someone has discovered a way for foreigners and those without credit cards to become backers, and Tim Schafer has posted instructions: http://www.doublefine.com/forums/viewthread/5981/ Hurry, though, you've only got 23 hours to go!

I was just being a smart arse. You said you changed your account name because some people didn't understand it, but you changed it to something which nobody understands. Actually, I guess there's a kind of perverse, Alan Moore style, logic to that, now that I think about it!
-
An hour after Ben posted, they're at: $2,854,606 So that's $10,616 in the last hour. If this pace is maintained, they'll raise an additional $260,000... taking them well over $3 million! I imagine the Western world will go to sleep at some point, though, so that's unlikely to remain constant. Nail biting!

No, not that one.
