Damn.

I know what you're saying, but Romney is pretty famous for his flip-flopping, and I think there's enough clips to show that these aren't isolated or uncommon incidents.

So this is the new Republican Presidential Candidate... EQwrB1vu74c

You recall incorrectly.

As long as they don't read young adult fiction!

I don't know most of them, but this is total BS: -

Absolutely. I want to support her, but it's been too confusing. I still don't understand why they don't just say, "Pay $50 and get two games -- One being a kids game." It's utterly confusing, and weird for "master storytellers" to explain things so badly. I guess I'll donate the minimum and get the one adult adventure game. -

I hear you both, but that appears to be Codemaster's logic. I wouldn't have thought that LSL had much credibility these days. -
Actually I found the image to be funnier. Goldblum rushed through the joke so it wasn't as funny to me.

Here's Al Lowe repeating what you've quoted. I think it's clear that Codemasters have refused to license sequel rights to Replay Games. They're hoping that this reboot will prove to CM that they're capable of creating a sequel that won't obliterate the franchise. There doesn't seem to be anything about them having to get approval. Happy to be proven wrong. fF_yvZ5l0oI -

Musicians? Actors? Office rent? Equipment? Office utility bills? There's plenty of things to fill that question mark. As for their deal with Codemasters, it's true that it's not transparent, but I feel you're leaping to the worst conclusions. Perhaps someone could ask Lowe? -
I've recently picked this up and am playing through MGS3 again. Man that game truly rocks. I had previously found it too difficult and fiddly on the PS2, but looking back I've no idea why. I'm currently loving my trip through the game. I think part of the reason may have been that I played (and loved MGS2) immediately beforehand, and MGS3 wants you to play it very differently. I've not checked out Peace Walker yet, but I'm looking forward to it. In all, I totally recommend this HD upgrade, even though it's almost completely identical, or perhaps because it's almost completely identical.

Apparently the new controls add a lot to Peacewalker. It's supposed to be excellent, if different. It's set before 4, as I understand it. I did finish 3 the first time around, but it didn't make much of an impression. I'm loving it this time though. No kills so far!

Jane Jensen's Pinkerton Road CSG Kickstarter

Here's why I have trepidation: 1. I haven't played any of their games before. 2. It's unclear what I get for my $16. 3. Although the video is pretty good, it's got some major story-telling problems, which for a bunch of people trying to sell me on how amazing their story-telling is, makes me concerned. But I may go and donate to this one, too, seeing how passionate some members here are. There must be a good reason for it... Right? -

They BOUGHT the rights to make LSL, (they are NOT working for a publisher), and say as much in their video. I don't see any duplicity here unless they're receiving funding from the rights owner... But there's no reason to think they are. The fact that the series rights are owned by a publisher is completely irrelevant. They could have just as easily found themselves buying the rights from a studio or private party. If they can't find people who want to work longer than eight hours a day, then it logically follows that they're being honest and upfront about the working conditions AND that they're paying for their time. Here in London it's frequently the opposite on both counts (every job I've had in nine years). As for salary, why not check the wanted ads and sew for yourself? They must be around somewhere. Finally, getting one detail wrong about Double Fine isn't a big deal. Originally it was essentially going to be a Flash game, according to the backer documentary, so who knows what Greg was referring to. In other words, I don't really see any reason to panic just yet. -
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a masterpiece (at least the first two books). I don't understand how any could think otherwise, myself.
-
It doesn't have ads if you BOUGHT it, as subbes said.

AWESOME book! Loved it!

Toblix posted that earlier. It's amazing!

I'm currently reading The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, and I'm loving it!

When I saw the scene where slave Leia was forced to dance, that's what really ruined it for me. Isn't that just a little... wrong?

We're in the middle of a terrible economic situation that may drag on for decades. Trends in culture change depending on what people need. Strangely people didn't like watching movies about the horrors of war during World War II, tastes drifted towards escapism, because it was what they needed during that time. Stein's argument is weak and badly thought out. What exactly are we supposed to be learning from books? And to what end? Until this is defined it's impossible to even discuss whether it's good or bad for adults to read escapist fiction.
