Neptune's Navel! Wait, who are you again?
-
GTAIV had the same thing, too, as I recall? You should join the Idle Payne crew (if you haven't already .

I think going back to your GP and explaining the above symptoms is your best bet. I wonder if the EKG would pick up anything while you were having your symptoms?

You say you weren't anxious in your mind? Even when you started to shake? It didn't freak you out or make you worried about what was happening?

So I finally started reading this series again, purely based on everyone's excitement here... Not sure why, but I'm finding myself seriously sucked in this time. I even missed my stop this morning! I think the fact that I know a little bit more about the world and the characters now is making it easier to appreciate what's going on sooner. When I first jumped into the world, it was a little overwhelming, and I ended up giving up before it got its hooks into me. I hope I stick with it this time!

So would I.

That's the only time they do that, and in the Remastered version things that you can interact with are highlighted.

Obligatory Comical YouTube Thread II: The Fall of YouTube
ThunderPeel2001 replied to pabosher's topic in Idle Banter
This is one of those Wrestling videos. You know, like Hulk Hogan going crazy for the camera. It just blew my brain up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=brBVjEdOIVU -
This real-life event has been made into a new movie ("Compliance"), which is being called the most disturbing movie ever made. People are walking out of this film in droves, refusing to believe anything like this could actually happen. But it apparently did. And at least 70 times. Reading this completely bent my mind. I still can't fathom it. I'm not joking when I say it's disturbing. Seriously: Don't read if you're feeling sensitive. You don't need to know this stuff: http://www.courier-j...EWS01/510090392 WTF.

It's not really a spoiler. From what I read, the book that Martin wrote was too long to publish, even for him, so the publishers suggested he split it in two. Instead of halving the story, he just took some character's stories and put them in one book, and then put the other character's stories in the other. It's not some big reveal that they occur concurrently. In fact, a lot of people really struggled with the fourth book because all their favourite characters were missing (they were in the fifth book).

Mostly for my own satisfaction, here's a list of all seven books. Martin has planned for an ending, but the last two remain unwritten/unpublished. A Game of Thrones A Clash of Kings A Storm of Swords (published in two parts as Steel and Snow and Blood and Gold) A Feast for Crows (occurs at the same time as A Dance with Dragons, below) A Dance with Dragons (see above) (published in two parts as Dreams and Dust and After the Feast in some places) The Winds of Winter (not yet published) A Dream of Spring (not yet published)

Ben's description of these books has really made me want to delve in! Kroms, what's the overall enjoyment level of the series? Does it start off well, then get less gripping as it goes along? If so, how much less gripping? I'm guessing all the books aren't quite equal? (I'm just trying to brace myself if I read them, so I don't get my heart broken if the end later parts of the series are disappointing.) Also, how depressing? Depressing in a Requiem for A Dream way? Or in a "the bad guys have won and my favourite character is dead" kind of a way? Thanks!

I believe that's the usual definition. As Nach said, it's all to easy to see him as a scapegoat or victim of conspiracy. He may actually be guilty, and it won't mean the end of Wikileaks if he is.

Thank you for that!

If I don't already have it, I'd enjoy BIT.TRIP RUNNER.

I've enjoyed CLOP a lot more than QWOP for precisely the above reason... I even made it about two-thirds through. It's a tricky beast.

I took it to mean, "If your wife is wrong, simply smile condescendingly and don't correct her", which is an attitude I've heard both men and women describe as "correct". And extrapolated beyond that, so that you're never correcting anyone, is something Dale Carnegie espoused in "How to Make Friends and Influence People". So I'm intrigued if that's how people took it.

Possibly all of it, possibly none... Too early to tell. It's close to me going away. Plus I don't know if I'll be working then or not :-/
-
Sorry to play devil's advocate on this, but I have to wonder: Does that mean you should never correct anyone?

I so want to see that movie... In fact it might be my most highly anticipated movie this year.

Your business card is CRAP! -
I can't decide if that's good advice for life, or just really insulting to women? :-/

I hadn't heard that! Very interesting. I'll check out that book. Still can't say I'm convinced by your beach ball/alien argument, though. It wasn't a "monster" in Dark Star, it was a joke. Here's a screengrab... I'm fascinated by early Carpenter/O'Bannon.
