What am I reading here? -
You mean apart from the time you posted that screenshot?
-
Part of it is the ability to vote, too.
-
Ha, I know what you mean. Plenty of the comments by people like it make me not want to play it :-/
-
Haha! I love how threads become "derailed" around here.

My one concern at the moment is that they won't be fun games to play. I base this worry entirely on Stacking (I own the other games, I just haven't played them yet): It looked awesome, it was a neat idea, but the puzzles were pretty boring.

That must be the intended joke, surely, as that now makes perfect sense!
-
I don't know who you are anymore.

Can I ask what we're taking about here? Just the advertising for GTA? The argument that the perp is posing for the advert because she's in an advert makes no sense. (Why isn't the cop posing?) And how does being meta make it OK anyway?
-
The issue with the police woman image is that the perp is posing for the camera. It makes zero sense that she'd be doing that while being arrested... Except to try and turn the image into a male pornographic fantasy.

As much as I have a problem with GTA's lame writing, what you said isn't true at all.

I know I'm going to sound like I'm flogging a dead horse, but video games are still stuck trying to capture the best of Hollywood (and failing miserably, I should add). GTA is no exception. As for the level of maturity in GTA games; it's pathetic. It tries to hide under the banner of "satire", but childish jokes always win out. Why name the Internet cafes in GTAIV "Tw@t"? What's that satirising, exactly? The overt sexualisation of Internet cafes? It's just a rude word Because They Can. To argue there's a deeper meaning behind crap like that is ridiculous. It's schoolboy humour written by immature men.

I don't think you get what I'm referring to. I meant that now he's had moments where he's started taking control of his life he should be more easy going. He's more self-actualised. Actually, he's gradually loosening up more and more. He's finally giving Pinkman less shit. My current beef is that his wife (quite understandably) was getting really angry with him because of his lying. But the next episode she was totally cool with him. They've added some snarky remarks to let the audience know that she's not forgotten, but her transformation makes little sense. It at least, I'd have preferred it if it had been more gradual.

I'd imagine they're really happy. This is the first time so many people in the company have been able to pitch.

Oh, god! I hate it when people really believe that stuff. -

It's Festivus! -
Dear god... It makes no sense!

Wasn't that the same in GTAIV?

Every time I see their profile picture it makes me think of Dizzy. Yes, that are asking for a LOT, really. I don't know if they're going to get it, but it is early days yet. Edit: I thought I'd pledged but I haven't, it turns out. I then decided I didn't want to pledge. I guess I don't love Dizzy that much, and this coming from someone who has owned and completed several Dizzy games. I'd like them to make something amazing, and they may just do it, but I guess they never managed to win me over in the past. Plus I feel they owe me an apology for all the pain they put me through with Treasure Island Dizzy.

I was just surfing the net on this glorious and sunny day, when I suddenly remembered my first gaming machine, and decided to look it up. Since I last searched for it, the internet has added a lot more information about it... The Datapoint 2200. A machine that my Dad's work (a bank) was throwing away, and so he brought home. It had a purely text-based output, and so had only a few really basic games. It loved it, and played it until it broke, whereupon we got a Spectrum +3. But this little beauty (41 years old) was my first ever gaming device: http://www.1000bit.it/scheda.asp?id=1392 What was yours?

Yeah, PC games != XBox games. They have separate achievements and everything. You can't transfer DLC to my knowledge.
-
Ah, I haven't got that far yet. So far it's just him claiming he was taken advantage of, and his ex claiming that he "left". There was no mention of him accepting any buyout.

And how many American ones? Also, I personally don't think you can put the Oliver Twins in the same category as Peter Molyneux!

Another thought about Breaking Bad, and why the first episode was so great. In the beginning it's implied that he's an amazing science dude, that his research led to a Pulizter prize, but guess what: Life ain't the movies, and even though he had his moment in the sun, he's a now a struggling high school teacher, with no respect. Such is cruel reality. I really liked that unusual twist. But in season two, desperate for more stories, they expanded on that to change things: He was no longer shat on by the same realities we all have to face in life, he was actively wronged by his previous partners. For me that means he's less relatable. He's no longer the victim of "life happens", he's the victim of theft. In other words, the cause of his problems is now someone else. That seems to fly in the face of the main theme of the show: A man taking control of his life, fighting the things outside his control (e.g. his cancer, and previously, his lack of luck). Anyways, I've probably explained that badly, it's just a thought that struck me.
