  1. When did you break your first joystick?

Lol! Even the oldest Spectrum had 16KB of memory! *tsk* Damn youngun's! Now that would have been hilarious, hearing you explain how you'd sit up, presumably at the age of 60, typing in code with your mom. Not to mention your bizarre fetish about stuffing sandwiches into tape decks... Lol!
  2. When did you break your first joystick?

So you're how old? You certainly make me feel like I've been around a while!
  3. Obscure games featurama (aka "remember this?")

Well here's the finished FAQ if you want to complete it (it's not actually very hard to complete once you know what to do). Wizkid.zip
  4. ForeverDream Studios Wants You

    (From the site)
  5. Obscure games featurama (aka "remember this?")

Was Z2 a proper Bitmap Bros game? Was it worse than Z?
  6. Obscure games featurama (aka "remember this?")

I was kind of hoping for more than a He-Man figure and some used Blu-Tack, but it's better than nothing. Thanks, BG!
  7. Parents beware! Your kid might see a digital nipple!

How times have changed sinced George Bush got into power , remember the good ol' days?
  8. Obscure games featurama (aka "remember this?")

Forget that crappy guide, I've written the a whole new FAQ/Walkthrough (or the basis of one) for Wizkid (I can't believe there isn't one out there already!). I had the same problem as Benny... one missing bloody Kitty! I remember, I've always had that problem, not enough pussy In the game, I mean. Honest. I suspect that maybe it's some copy-protection that the crackers missed. Are you using a cracked version, Benny? Either that or I'm just crap, because I can't figure out how you get the Kitty for Level 5!!! I'd love to finish this game finally, want to put our heads together to see if we can figure this out? PM me. Anyhoo, here's the work-in-progress FAQ/Walkthough. The main stuff is done (although it's missing the fancy stuff) and I think it's the most complete guide for this game at the moment (which is pretty bad seeing at this one is incomplete!). I'd like to finish it though...
  9. When did you break your first joystick?

Well I've never played the 8-bit adaptation, but I find it hard to believe that anything could be better than the Amiga original.... "Icecream!"
  10. Obscure games featurama (aka "remember this?")

Edit edit: Removed the old crappy guide, turns out I never completed it either. See below.
  11. SW: KotOR -- HK-47

    What about Yoda's Desktop Adventures?
  12. Obscure games featurama (aka "remember this?")

WIZKID! Now THERE was a great game! Perhaps the most brilliantly unique, clever, surreal and FUN game!! I thought it was just me, the Amiga Power staff and somebody at Sensible who actually like this game! I'd LOVE to see that on my GBA! Anyway... I'm also a huge Bitmap Brothers fan. (There's a really cool Bitmap Bros site at www.gods-country.de if anyone is interested.) I've played all of their games and completed a fair chunk of them (including the forgotten Chaos Engine 2) but I've never played Z! (It never came out for the Amiga.) I think since Eric Matthews left the company went seriously downhill, clearly the guy was a genius: The AI in Gods and the Chaos Engine... and of course, Speedball 2! I never got into Cadaver, although the graphics were gorgeous. *sigh* Sorry, I could wittle on about the Bitmaps all day.... just don't mention the hideous remake Speedball 2100......... What about Rocket Ranger, anyone? I remember the graphics and sound were unbeleivable at the time on my Amiga (shame it looked shite on any other system)! You needed two disk drives, but it was worth it. Not necessarily a well rounded game, but it was still fun to play!
  13. When did you break your first joystick?

Since my Amiga I've never used a joystick (my trusty Cruiser). I wouldn't mind a cool arcadey one for use with MAME, but otherwise my equally trusty PlayStation Analogue Controller DualShock® will do the trick! I have to say, I don't there's ever been an improvement on the Dualshock in terms of joypads, especially on the PC where most of them (especially Microsoft's attempts) are utterly awful. Edit: Just seen the above post... I have to say - I HATE the Sidewinder! I can't believe you like it... I tried to use it for so many games but I never got the hang of it. I upgraded to a something with at least an analogue stick on it, but it was still nothing compared to the mighty Dualshock. Now the Suncom Tac 2, I think brings back some memories from an old joystick round up in a Spectrum magazine? I recall seeing that it rocked, I wonder if I could hook it up to my PC?
  14. I've been waiting for this sequel for years! Sir Geoff returns to his roots!! Yay! Now all we need is an IK+ Pro! (Well, perhaps we need that less than a SCR Pro, but it'd still be cool!)
  15. The best football game ever - Kick Off on the amiga.

It wasn't a sequel, I was working at Sony when that piece of sh*t turned up. The least said about 2100, the better
  16. OK, WTF?! Andy Kaufmann is back!

There's actually a fairly large wealth of evidence to say the website is quite fake: Take the PRWeb Press Release. That could only have been written by the person who made the site (that's what a press release is, it's not actually an article) and yet he claims there were "mistakes" in it. When I first saw the site I really got a cool feeling. I was like, "oh... my... god...". But then I started reading things that Andy was supposed to say like "what I did was necessary to secure my place as the ultimate performance artist". Who speaks of themselves like that?! Only a fan would describe someone as the "ultimate performance artist". (This isn't a direct quote.) It rang soooo false. Now after reading more posts from "Andy", none of which are even in the slightest bit funny, amusing or original, I've decided it was written by a fan with no talent. Still, it was worth it for that five minutes of "oh... my... god...".
  17. Chuckie Egg - the best platformer ever?

The first joystick I ever broke (I think) was on Supertest on the Spectrum (a clone of Hyper Sports). The first mouse I ever broke was playing the last mission of Cannon Fodder. I smashed it to pieces and then had to fix it so I could complete it only to get an ending sequence which very subtley (but yet quite literally) told me to F-U-C-K O-F-F. Thanks, Sensible. This is a good idea for a thread actually... where did you break your first peripheral?
  18. OK, WTF?! Andy Kaufmann is back!

I'm as sure as I know that Andy is alive (ie. I haven't a clue).
  19. Psychonauts

    Evil will reign supreme...
  20. New Half-Life 2 screenshots

Couldn't have been worse than those "nude" patches... (of course the fact that she didn't really look nude was the main problem *cough* - damn you, Core!!) ??? Lol! "83.5% of all facts are made up on the spot" - Vic Reeves I think that sums that up!
  21. whatever happened to RPGs

It seriously sucks ass. I've been playing it since release and they're STILL "fixing" it. (Don't ask me why I'm still playing it, except I paid for a years subscription in advance... ! :/)
  22. Where will you be... "The Day After Tomorrow"

It's gonna suck, but it could be fun!
  23. OK, WTF?! Andy Kaufmann is back!

  24. Chuckie Egg - the best platformer ever?

I played it in school on their BBC Micros/Acorns whatever and it rocked as I recall. I remember being very let down when I played later versions on my Spectrum... it was SO rock hard!! Was it always like this or am I just a useless old sod now?
  25. The best football game ever - Kick Off on the amiga.

Speedball 2... now THERE'S a game that hold up to your memories of it! I recently played it and MAN, it's still fun! :9~ :9~ :9~ I still dream of a 256 color version... (although, techinically there was one, look how they messed it up... the fools!) EDIT: NO IMAGES HERE!
