It's terrible to think of the number of games I've got that I've even yet to PLAY. Not good. I should get through them all before I think about buying something new, really.

Got 99 orbs... but no frickin idea where the other one is. I can say that none of the orbs where really that hard to find so far. I just missed them as I drove around. I think the trick to getting a 10 second 2-wheelie is to drive to the invisible barrier. If you've got two wheels against it it still counts as a wheelie. I still couldn't get more than 4.2 seconds, but it's the best I've managed in the game at all. 10 seconds is a LONG time! Anyone got an idea what the eggs are for? I've found two so far but you only get 3,000 points for a transport... way less than a dead raptor... seems kinda pointless?? Tip: To get the 3 Combo Meal achievement you just need to get a x3 multiplier when transporting raptors. The best way is to drag three dead ones to the transporter, dump two and once, and quickly grab the last one (the multiplier goes down fast!). I never understood what it meant until I got it by accident.

1,062,350 Kapow! That was nuts! I just jumped on my computer for a quick go of Raptor Safari and got this score on my first game! Here's what happened (it's a little lucky): I started on the bridge bit where you're racing five raptors and ramp (and a large rock on the right). There's a little bump in the road before you get off the bridge and I decided to Boost just before to see if I could get the 50m flying raptor kill achievement. It's never worked before, but I felt lucky and lo! If I didn't only go and land on a raptor... after a 43m jump - doh! But what did happen is that we both (me and the dead raptor) went flying for miles, then I ended up rolling for ages, smashing into things and getting bonuses for damaging the car (because it was the first thing I'd done in the game). All told, that one move came to 420,000+ points! Then I just transported five raptors and whammy! Also, listening to Use Your Illusion 1 by Guns N' Roses seemed to help, too. Perfect music for Raptor Safari!

Sorry, I forgot you had the highscore, I wasn't being factitious. I've got 97 of the Orbs, and I've not come across one that can't be reached by a nicely timed boost... Of course the remaining the remaining three could be beyond reach?

Any tips, folks? I emailed one of the developers with some comments, and he said they were looking into changing the multiplication system so that it's a bit more forgiving. A damned good idea if you ask me: You can lose your stunt bonus while going for a great stunt that takes too long! I've got about 95 of the orbs, I think. God knows where the others are! It seems that although you get a decent score from throwing the Raptors into the transporters, that the highest scoring folks seem to do it entirely from stunts. Hmm. Any one else found the red egg? (There's two I've seen so far, but the second one was behind the 'edge of the world' barrier.) I threw it into the transporter, but it didn't seem worth the effort... I wonder if it does anything else? I can't do the 2-wheeler thing at all! I think 'ooh, that was good!' and the game says '1.23' seconds. How on earth you go for ten, I don't know. Good, but I think the game needs a little tweaking to ascend to god-like status.

That's an odd reaction. I too got all the references, but I never felt like I was being "pandered" to. The music was only ever used to show the growing relationship between Juno and the father to be. Such a minor element of the whole story. Even if you didn't get the references, it still made the sub-text clear, and I was happy to see that the references reflected the characters and felt actually real. If anything it made me identify with the father to be character even more; he seemed like a very real person (as did they all, really). The whole film (with the exception of that bizarre scene in the store at the beginning) felt very real to me. Sigh, I could go on. Just about the most perfect movie I've seen in a long while. Also, an odd experience to watch a movie that's entirely narrated by a female character. Makes me realise how male-dominated cinema can be!

This is inspiring me to get strict and force myself to sit down and play some games! I like the idea of feeling like the lord of the backlog has been appeased (at least for a while).

Nah, I know what you're saying, but I still think you're wrong. The way I look at it is this: A review has a single purpose; to let others know what something is like. Is it good/bad/terrible/etc. During the course of a review a talented writer can also entertain the reader. This is the icing on the cake, so to speak. For me, the icing seems to have overtaken the cake. It's still entertaining, but you can no longer really base an opinion on what he says or even identify with how he feels a lot of the time. Given more time, I imagine this would occur less as he'd be able to sum up his feelings more accurately, I think. It's just a personal taste thing, I guess. (It IS his job, btw. He's a journalist, you know. This is what he gets paid for. The Escapist didn't just pluck his videos from YouTube and then ask him to do them once a week for no reason: They're paying him!) There are other (better - sorry to say) journalists like Charlie Brooker who manage to be as fantastically entertaining whilst also making many good points, too. I know it's unfair to compare Yahtzee to another journalist, I'm just lamenting the fact that there's not someone out there really hilariously summing up games and embarrassing the folks behind the bad ones. Part of the enjoyment now seems to come from seeing how angry Yahtzee can get, rather than cheering along with the blasting of crap games. I do believe that if he was left to do a monthly video that he'd probably sum up the games and their flaws, perfectly AND still be highly entertaining (if not more so), which I think would mean people would come back and watch them again and again. I could be being completely naive in believing this, though. I do like Yahtzee, I just want him to do better, that's all.

It's funny, I stumbled across his two earlier videos on YouTube (which led to him moving to the Escapist and doing it weekly) and I kind of prefer them. Despite what's been said in this thread about not taking his "reviews" too seriously (for the most part) his early ones were a bit more weighty and less bile for the sake of bile. He actually came across as quite likeable too, instead if the hate filled/anger driven character he's got to live up to. Of course churning them out weekly, he can't be expected to perfectly sum up every game that's thrown his way AND be highly entertaining. I'd be happy if he did them monthly and really nailed the game in question, myself. Did you know that your computer takes exactly the same amount of power in "hibernate" as it does when it's been "shut down"? (Yes, it still draws power after a shut down -- unless you unplug from the wall -- about 2.3 watts per hour, apparently). The unfortunate thing is that my computer seems to take exactly the same amount of time to come out of hibernation as it does to boot up fresh. Pointless! (Well, unless you just want to keep a bunch of apps and documents open, I suppose.) Vista ist rad, btw

Yay! I just completed GH2 on Hard last night... My god, my wrists were aching! I barely scraped through, but it's still fun. Now onto Expert Has anyone else found that Psychobilly Freakout is the hardest song in the entire game? It's ONLY song I can't five star on medium and it was the most difficult on Hard, too. I just can't handle the bits that go ----0----0----0----0----0----0---- -0----0----0----0----0----0---- Maybe I should start strumming both ways?
