Excellent quote... although I still wanted Uwe Boll's "I'm a fucking genius" (*sob*)

Good job I have to say it again: Rock Band is fucking brilliant. It's such a progression from GH2, and not just because of the instruments. The whole game has progressed. It's such a joy to play! I did some singing in Solo mode last night. I suprised myself by five starring the first ten tracks on Medium... (Is it quite easy? I remember sucking ass badly on Singstar.) I'm currently in "must complete all songs" mode... but with 80 songs and three different instruments it seems like a mammoth task.

Lol. Is it possible for you to write anything in a non-condescending manner? Cigol: What's so bad about EA's service? Do you need to install a load of crap software or something? For those who are interested, you can unlock the full demo for £5 (the cost of which is then given back to you if you buy the full game when it comes out)... So, provided you're planning on buying Spore, it's essentially free... without the need for potentially dodgy torrents that don't actually completely unlock the demo.

It's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! Just played Rock Band and damn, if my new motherboard/PSU isn't a lot quieter than the last one! Can't believe how quick the turnaround was. I have to say: Microsoft did a great job here!

Calling BC residents! Vancouver - what's it like?
ThunderPeel2001 replied to Scrobbs's topic in Idle Banter
Um. Jolly good! -
Cool. EL are supposed to be the most troublesome, but the newer sets are ok, apparently (mine are EL). But you have to hit them pretty hard. I think the QM are supposed to be great, much more responsive than the EL sets... but you've got that quirky/rare variant: The SL, of which I know nothing Good to hear it's working well, though.

You know, I'm sure the "penis land" characters will get boring after a while... I hope they don't censor the game for fear of upset parents. I mean, do you need to put a rating on Silly Putty?
-
That's great! Is your new set EL or QM? (You can tell by looking at the serial number on the bottom of the drum heads.) I'm sorely tempted by the Goodwoodmod kit... even though I've only played Rock Band once or twice (before the RRoD). I could put my kit on ebay to offset the costs... or a bit of the cost, anyway.

Lol, that's true! And uh, lightning. Seriously, if your car broke down, no matter where you are in England (I'm excluding Scotland here), you would be able to walk to a house/be picked up by a passing car before you expired. (I reckon.)

Yes! Maybe I can unlock some of the two-player achievements in GH! What I mean to say is... It would be lovely to welcome you to the sights of London (via my flat window).

Metal Gear Solid 4 - Guns of the Saucer Men From Mars
ThunderPeel2001 replied to Cigol's topic in Video Gaming
This is the way I see it: It's cinematic (adjective): The entire game looks like a movie A cinematic/cut-scene (noun): An in-game video So surely you can see why people think GTA IV is cinematic? It looks quite a lot like a movie at times (helped by the cut-scenes, but also when you're on missions). It's a pretty vague term, really. If it reminds you of a movie, it's "cinematic", I guess. -

It's quite difficult to emigrate to Canada, isn't it? Good luck if you try, though! -
Anyone got a valid/trusted link? (The Megaupload one has been taken down and I don't wanna get no virus )
-
Or me, if you'd like. Whereabouts in Canada are you from? Also: Can you play Rock Band/Guitar Hero?

Metal Gear Solid 4 - Guns of the Saucer Men From Mars
ThunderPeel2001 replied to Cigol's topic in Video Gaming
?!?! An hour long?! You can't be serious? Which game? When (is it the end sequence?). Even 15 mins is annoying. -
It actually says that next to the video of the old episode, too...
-
What's weird is that these links are absolutely crap. Why would anyone go to the effort of programming a bot to advertise them?

Clearly some higher force wants you to keep plugging away at these things... but WOW, that's a really nice coincidence that they should slot together so nicely.

Metal Gear Solid 4 - Guns of the Saucer Men From Mars
ThunderPeel2001 replied to Cigol's topic in Video Gaming
Well, I've got access to a GameCube and a PS2, so I could easily play MGS1:Twin Snakes (providing I could find it) and get MGS3:Subsistence (which includes the first two Metal Gear games, officially translated into English for the first time, apparently!). I've got MGS2 for my XBox (via 360 emulation). The thing I remember when playing MGS1 was just how long to it took to play simply because of all the cut-scene dialogue. I guess I should add them to "Teh List"... or just get around to playing MGS2. -
Metal Gear Solid 4 - Guns of the Saucer Men From Mars

Interesting! I wasn't sure if people still liked MGS. I remember playing the first one. I never made it through the second, and I never even saw the third. So it's still good then? I just looked at Wikipedia, I had no idea that the storyline continued through all the games: * Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - 1964 * Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops - 1970 * Metal Gear - 1995 * Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake - 1999 * Metal Gear Solid - 2005 * Metal Gear Solid Mobile * Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty - 2007-2009 * Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots - 2014 I wonder if it's worth playing through them all? Edit: It's only on PS3? *doh!* -
Yikes. It's hard to imagine living in a place where the weather could kill you if you weren't careful. Here in the UK we don't have anything that could kill you: No extreme weather (except the occasional insane floods, I suppose). No snowy mountain regions. No sprawling deserts. No earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis. No wild bears or wolves or mountain lions. Everything is soooo mild. I think that's why we're all so miserable.

Yeah! There's loads of great 3rd party pedals that are a million times better than the supplied one. I think just about every pedal is reviewed here, too: http://www.rockgamer.com/cena/

Heh, weather is a weird thing. When I came back from living in LA I remember moaning about the UK weather, and how it miserable and cold it was. But at the same time my cousin came back from New York, where it was absolutely FREEZING (and I'm sure that's warmer than Edmonton) and he was so happy with how warm it was! Do you live in Edmonton, Miffy? My girlfriend has a cousin living there. I don't want to sound like the annoying tourist, but er, do you know him? Dean Smith is his name and he's a big Rock Band/Guitar Hero fan. (Can't help but think of a skit I heard on the radio once... A man lost forever in space with nothing but his computer for company suddenly comes across an overfriendly alien: "You're from Earth? The PLANET Earth?". Man: "That's right". Alien: "Do you know a guy called Jan Vogels?". Man: "No." Alien: "Oh come on. He was from Earth! Jan Vogels!" Man: "I don't know him!" Alien: "You must know him. Jan. Short guy with red hair.")

I hope my save games still work when my XBox is returned... yipe! That would really suck!
