  1. Midnight Club: Los Angeles

Yup. It's a huge chunk of LA rendered using the RAGE engine from GTAIV... but with more of an emphasis of racing (so it's not just the GTAIV handling).
  2. Blu-ray region fucking shit

    Yup, it's my thing
  3. Blu-ray region fucking shit

Ok, when was the last time your player automatically updated its firmware? If you're happy then there's no reason to update. Even Profile 2.0 players don't update automatically. Secondly, many places offer lifetime guarantees on their hacked players. Why? Because mods today can have their firmware updated, too, making them futureproof. So to sum up: You're completely safe buying a multi-region Blu-Ray player. (If you already own one then you can even buy the kits to unlock them, too.)
  4. Grand Theft Auto V Announced!

And what about GTA: London 1969, eh?
  5. Rock Band 2...

Hmmm... and then of course you just need to pump that vocal back into the game for a perfect score! Weird, eh.
  6. Sam & Max: Chariots of the Dogs

Also: What does "john walkers nemesis" mean at the bottom of this thread? The PC Gamer reviewer?
  7. VIDEO GAMES

Aye, I get it now It's pretty simple really... although I can't think of any good examples off the top of my head Oh course though: It IS! (Now -- Thanks to the mutation of language and people never really understanding it in the first place.) Of course, I will endeavour to use it in its original and 'correct' incarnation so that I might feel superior.
  8. Blu-ray region fucking shit

No, no, no!!! Wrong, wrong, wrong!!! You can buy ANY DVD player region free from companies that mod them for you. It's easily the best way to watch Blu-Ray DVDs. No hassles, high quality, nuff said.
  9. Screw Barack Obama

Racist language? You do realise that this guy is black himself, right? I definitely want Obama in power, though. McCain scares the shit out of me.
  10. Syndicate revivial

It ain't terrorism if it's legal... Syndicate rocked my world... I hope they do a decent job and not just Syndicate Wars - aesthetics DO matter! Syndicate was the only Molyneux title where you actually had total freedom to play as you wanted... IMHO.
  11. Soo Star Wars The Old Republic tomorrow then eh?

Oh brother... I LOVED LOVED LOVED KOTOR. The only MMO I've ever played is Star Wars: Galaxies. Finally, a decent Star Wars MMO? Pants... getting tighter...
  12. Sid Meier

I never "got" Colonization. I never really seemed to move forward in the game... What was the point again? Making money by trading?
  13. So, Fable 2

There's a really great list that shows each 360 game's compatibility in each territory... if only I could remember where I saw it *sob* As for Fable... when is Peter Molyneux going to start doing what I tell him?!?
  14. Sam & Max: Chariots of the Dogs

Aye, once again we agree! Yes indeed, I'm just getting around to playing Season 2, and yes, Max at full mode is more enjoyable... I guess I'm just not the gamer I used to be I'm just starting on the third episode and the opening sequence on that really made my day, "Do it properly, Sam!"
  15. Y: The Last Man

    Aye, t'was a brilliant series!
  16. BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams

Maybe he shouted at them because they looked at him "funny". He sure sounds like a dick: "Maybe I’m the nicest guy in the world, maybe I’m the biggest asshole. I couldn’t tell you. I think people choose to work with me because I can work with them and make a game called BioShock." (Does he realise that there's already a game called BioShock?) Still, he did a brilliant job with System Shock 2, you have to give him that.
  17. Grand Theft Auto IV

Would LOVE a multiplayer on Thursday... alas, I'm on holiday!!! (For the first time in years.) Woohoo!!!
  18. Brütal Legend without publisher !!

    Well spotted
  19. BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2007/11/30/filthy-rumourmongering-bioshock-2-sans-ken/ Interesting! So maybe Ken's departure isn't so bad, afterall. I played through BioShock on the PC to begin with (veeeeeery nice), but I've got the 360 version hanging around. I might play through it again on the 360 to see how it plays differently.
  20. BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams

Huh? But why isn't Levine being more involved? It was his baby wasn't it, and didn't he say (after the surprise success of BS) that they were planning to do lots of sequels, telling different stories from within the city (like maybe answering the question: "Where are the sane people at?"). Sucks
  21. VIDEO GAMES

I quite agree! I have to ask... what's the "proper" use of the phrase "begging the question" then? DUDE: "This is true, because it is!" FELLA: "That's begging the question!" ?
  22. There is no "uncanny valley" for sound...

...so why isn't it given more attention in games? How many times have you walked two feet away from a character only to have their voice drop to an inaudible volume? How many times have you heard things crystal clear through brick walls that weren't in any way muffled? Why doesn't sound echo in certain chambers. Why don't the sound of my foot steps change for each type of ground I can walk on? Concrete, grass, sand, mud... If it's raining and I stand by a window or a roof, when can't I hear the rain pounding on the window or roof? According to weirdmeister genius David Lynch, "sound is half of the experience". Films create entire soundtracks from nothing, the technology exists. So why don't developers bridge the "uncanny valley" for sound, since it can be done (relatively) easily?
  23. There is no "uncanny valley" for sound...

    We're gonna be rich!!!
  24. Rockstar Social Club

I've er... only just found this. It was launched something like 4 months ago.... http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/ Apparently it's a place where you can see all your GTA4 stats (and Midnight Club: LA when that gets released) and see how you're doing compared to the rest of the "Club"... Except it doesn't seem to be linking to my XBL account? Anyone a member? Anyone had any troubles linking?
  25. There is no "uncanny valley" for sound...

Cool, I need to find time to read all those articles. I remember that Hidden & Dangerous had phenomenal sound, especially for the time. (Stand next to a shack when it's raining and hear the rain pound the roof!) It's a shame that there were bugs that let you men fall through the scenery... I think the next step will be some sort of sound physics middleware. (Anyone up for a challenge?*) * Note: I cannot code.
