There CAN'T be an Extended Edition -- surely! If anything, I'd pay more to see a shortened edition.
 -
I know!!!!!! Plus, also the 100 odd other people he indirectly may have killed, too. But who cares about then?
 -
Hey! I predicted that you can't complete it... Clearly that's going to be because the game is infinite!
 -
Wtf! He just let her die!!! Nooooooooooo! You utter bastard!!! I will never forgive you for this! You scumbag. You asshole. Arrrrrrggghhh!

This is so true! I actually thought this when I re-watched the first one again. After I came out of the first Matrix, long black coats seemed like a really cool fashion statement. I'm sure I even considered buying one. Then the sequels came out and it was like, "So glad I didn't go down that route!".

Yet another reason why Tesla ruled. -
Wow. Is that because you have incredibly cool handwriting, or because your pen is so expensive? I was never able to make my writing look cool with nibbed pens when I tried. In other news, the Productivity Owl is keeping my ass in order, but not giving me any respect... Admittedly, I still absent-mindedly go to websites that I've blocked, only to get told off.

Yes. What would happen? *hint hint*

	It can't be completed.

I hadn't watched the Matrix sequels since I saw them in the movie theater, but the other day I saw the trilogy on sale for £10 on Bluray. Seemed like a great deal, so I picked them up and re-watched them all again, hoping to be less disappointed this time around. Interestingly, I was... The first movie is still fantastic. It really holds up well. It's generally seen to be nowhere near as cool as once was, but I've realised that this is largely because of how the sequels tainted it. As an action/sci-fi movie by itself, this is up there with the very best of them. The two sequels are really one (really) long movie, as it turns out. No wonder I didn't feel engaged when I went to watch it at the cinema, I could probably barely remember what the story was from the first (confusing) sequel. Before I re-watch them this time, I tried to make sure I was going to get the most out of them, and watched all of the Animatrix (better than I remembered, but immediately took the "this is serious" tone that the sequels did -- could have been a lot more fun, but most of them were pretty good). And, as it turned, the most important thing I watched in preparation was the footage from ENTER THE MATRIX (the Video game that Shiny Entertainment rushed out the door, but which featured live action footage written and directed by the Wachowski's). This more than anything else, is what made the last two films more enjoyable to watch. Especially the third film, where you spend most of your time with Niobe, the lead character from ETM. It's sad that the story they wrote for Enter the Matrix was lost to a sub-par game. (I'm surprised Shiny didn't try and actually properly finish it at a later date, and release it in a "Redux" version or something.) While Reloaded and Revolutions were better, and a whole lot less confusing than I remembered, they were still totally different from the first film. Self-important, humourless and not much fun, it's almost like they're from a totally different film series. I'm guessing that creating the sequels set the Wachowski's up for life, but artistically they're dull and flabby. Merely competent were the first film shone -- and it's no surprise: They spent four years just polishing their script for the Matrix, whereas they bashed out the sequels in comparatively no time at all. Despite enjoying the sequels more this time around, I still wish they'd not made them. The first film was just so brilliant that it would still have had a great reputation today, instead of being linked to an extremely uncool franchise.

The game will automatically purchase all DLC for you without your permission.

Damn. I think I've missed out on the previous 10 Indie Galas... but everything in 11 looks incredibly dull. Just battle management games :-/

I just found this superb parody of "It's A Wonderful Life" by the Upright Citizen's Brigade, but it wasn't on YouTube. So I tried to add it, and now my account is being investigated for copyright issues by the owners of "It's A Wonderful Life". Damned automatic copyright protection! Bah. I'm disputing the claim, as it's clearly a parody... anyway! It's called "Escape from It's A Wonderful Life". You can watch it here, and if you've never seen it, you're in for a treat: http://www.uprightci...g/19/index.html Don't be scared by the .rm file extension. VLC plays it just fine! -
So...... other than you stinking of garlic, what was this experiment designed to achieve?

You sometimes have to look at your inventory through TF2 for it to update correctly, I think.
 -
You can ask for money but, as I say, I've only done it once myself, so I don't know how that works. It seemed easier to ask for games. Once I put them up on TF2Outpost I got a few friend requests in Steam. They turned into an online chat, and then we traded using Steam's system. That was it.

Kill Your Idols: The Overrated Album/Band/Author/Book/Video Game thread
ThunderPeel2001 replied to Max Ernst's topic in Idle Banter
No, I think you're right about Con-Air. I found it particularly unfunny. Gormongous, I think the tone was set in the first post of this thread. It reads to me as more of a rant on why everyone else is wrong, rather than an attempt to try and appreciate what other people are seeing that you're not. Or even just discussing why you can't appreciate something. Mr Ernst makes some interesting points in his critiques (I'd never really thought about Sgt Peppers in a song-by-song basis before), but he also actively declares things as being "overrated", like it's a statement of fact ("I was going to write why Grease is such a terrible film, but I just don’t have the energy after that. Maybe later"). And even if they're not bitter missives to the world, they are still arguments for why you shouldn't like something which you may already enjoy. That seems pretty negative if you ask me :-/ I've never been able to appreciate Jurassic Park, Forest Gump, Gladiator or Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, but I wouldn't start telling people that they're overrated. I assume the fault lies with me (see my earlier comments on palate). It doesn't take any skill whatsoever to declare you don't like something, and even less to just throw it under a bus. Sometimes you have to work on improving your palate so you can learn how to appreciate something. Although Mr Ernst did more than just rant, like breaking things down to what he saw as specific faults, I just think this potentially interesting topic might have been a bit mishandled... To me, the OP seems to be asking for frustrated rants at the rest of the world for liking something you don't, or carefully deliberated arguments about why other people shouldn't enjoy something as innocuous as a Beatles album...? (Happy to be corrected!) My comments about renaming the thread were sardonic, but there's a grain of truth there. Declaring that something is undeniably terrible, you are insulting those who like it, and I wanted to make that point. Sorry if it sounded "shrill".- 44 replies

Wow, really? I guess you already know what I think: (Empire Strikes Back is an excellent film, and easily the best Star Wars movie. The Matrix is an utterly fantastic genre flick -- possibly one of the best. Toy Story 3 is arguably the best Toy Story movie. Also the Toy Story films could be the most consistently superb movie trilogy in history. Finally, Con-Air is unfunny. On this last point, I will not budge.) So do ever feel frustrated that most people disagree with you (except on Con-Air)?- 44 replies

Well I did say, "if"... How can you dismantle a "myth" without considering the people who believe it as being wrong, though? This thread was made for people to explain why they think something well-regarded is "overrated". I'm not sure how you say something is overrated without inferring that those who don't think said thing is overrated are wrong...?- 44 replies
