Went well, then? -

It's sold out.... DOH! -
Today I learned that I missed my Dad's birthday... again! (I suck.)
-
What IS this? Why is Kevin Eldon the only recognizable face? Is it all scripted or is it one of those "contestants think it's real/audience laughs" kind of a thing?

Go Manny!
-
Great site, I hope he keeps uploading his old journals
-
Nope, thankfully I'm still hanging in there. I just can't believe that there's machines that have come back repaired and still break.....?!?! Man that sucks.
-
I too liked the videos... they showed that there's still some decent humour to be had from the Grumpy Gamer. Looking forward to this, for sure! As for YouTube, well DanJW left the best bit of advice I've ever read here just over a year ago: http://www.idlethumbs.net/forums/showthread.php?t=5434&highlight=sites+avoid

Shit... RRoD for the second time?!?
-
I don't think you're in a minority there. Good though it was, it wasn't SS2 or Deus Ex in terms of plot.
-
Maybe it's not deserted... dun dun DUN!
-
Youch, tough week at the office? It's not quite how I'd have put it, but I'm glad someone said something. You were pretty close to the ignorant racist mark there, I think, Rodi. (Not that I'm your Dad or anything, but I'm allowed to mention my pet peeves, too ) Weird that such a cute looking game should bring out such hostilities!

Of course, I've just noticed that I completely mis-read Vimes's original post... whoops!
-
Well according to that list, the US version works on European consoles.
-
That wasn't it... but that'll do! Thanks!

Brilliant

Aye, it's a nice feeling that you've done something well that you weren't supposed to. Like flashing your newly bought and very expensive DVD-ROM drive firmware... Of course there's no need for that now.
-
Agreed. Also, as a white person in a predominantly white country that has never been subject to any prejudice or discrimination (and belonging to a majority group that also has no history of prejudice or discrimination against them)... I was horribly offended by the use of the word cracker

The story is kept to a minimum, I think, but yep you work your way up the ranks of street racing, proving how good you are. I admit that I only bought it because of how much I love GTAIV...
-
Agreed... How hard could it be to implement, too? Liberty City is such an incredible sandbox, it's a shame to let it go to waste!
-
Huh. Interestingly, they've added a zombie outbreak simulator to the multiplayer game. You can see the stats in the SocialClub...
-
Yep, it has pedestrians, but you can't kill them. In fact, interaction with the environment is pretty minimal... but! It's still pretty good fun. I actually wish the driving in GTAIV was more like this. You can slide around corners at almost full speed, which is damned enjoyable if you time it right. Also, the loading is much quicker than GTAIV -- there isn't any. Not sure why since they're both using the same system to render a massive city. At the end of each race you zoom up into GoogleMaps view and then seamlessly zoom down into another area of the city and begin your race. Damned impressive. Maybe the rendering of LA is smaller than GTA's Liberty City? It's got the same kind of high quality cut-scenes as GTA, too. Still, it's really good fun and it's designed so that you never get stuck -- there's always something to do (well, a different race to race).
