(Aside from the Idle Thumbs one, of course.) So since you all seem to be enjoying it, I thought I'd pass on this excellent movie one: http://www.hollywoodsaloon.com (Also on iTunes.) (And no, I'm not involved with it.)
-
Seriously folks, this is a superb movie based podcast. (Hint: It's better than Idle Thumb's one.)

Sucks to the max. But surely they can't do this. This isn't an "amendment" it's a "revision" (meaning they need 2/3rds majority). Obama must fix this!

There are white people in America with a non-immigrant background?

Awesomer! -
I'm in a fog of bad puns...

Huzzah!

For me, there's two types of games: There's the fast and immediately enjoyable ones (Guitar Hero II, Geometry Wars II, etc.) and there's the slow hour-eaters (GTAIV, Mass Effect, Sam & Max, etc.). As long as I get a balance of these two, I'm good.

THAT would be excellent, Miffy! Toblix... Can't you gift all your games to a new account that you've made, or something? As for Steam/Valve... when are they going to bother doing some work on their interfaces? I know they're supposedly "clean and simple", but they're also "slow, ugly and counter-intuitive". I hate using Steam for that reason alone.

Seriously, I'd happily buy this as a mod... Does anyone know someone at Rockstar?
-
Great image and hooray for Obama (might want to put this sort of thing in a new thread?)
-
Good stuff! I've got a fairly decent PC (8800GTS) so it should be good enough!
-
Why, exactly? Sure, I've been skipping posts that might reveal too much, but AFAIK Wrestlevania is playing on an XBOX, Miffy on a PS3. When has anyone mentioned PC?
-
Bizarre thing is, when they played at some "Live BBC Festival" thing, I was thinking "why on earth are these guys here?". But they were the best thing that day... astonishingly they were excellent live!
-
So is everyone agreeing now that I should buy this...? If so, PC or XBox?
-
Ha, that's very true! It might get a little depressing, though. I wonder if you could make a game based on I Am Legend? (the book) Strategy: Work on a cure... get yourself to a lab each day Survive... get yourself to the shops each day Find survivors... explore new areas each day Your choice... just make sure you're back before sundown or you'll be stuck in a massive zombie/vampire fight!

Anybody know someone at Rockstar?
-
Nah, I didn't mean that at all. I just meant that the people I saw it with are MASSIVE Bond fanatics -- and it's easy to go swept up in their enthusiasm.
-
Quite interested to find out how the Mesh Heads compare with the GHWT kit and how that compares with the Rock Band Pro kit. Any good reviews out there?
-
Yeah, I agree. But if you're massive fan of the first one (like all the people I went to see it with), then it's pretty rewarding. Agree that it's mostly an epilogue, though.
-
Conversely I've had to manually calibrate every one I've ever played *shrugs*
-
Very good... I wonder how it's going to play, though?
-
No, it doesn't really say anything about RoboCop, but it's a wicked track considering the limitations and what other computer songs from 1988 sounded like
-
(To me "Ye Olde" means <= 16-bit... *shrugs*) To be honest I still have old music from games floating around in my head Prince of Persia, Monkey Island 1&2, Another World, Silkworm, Speedball II, Gods, Chaos Engine... *sigh* I could easily go on and on. (What a waste of brain space.) For me though, KOTOR had *amazing* music, as did FF7. I could actually easily sit down and listen to these two scores without playing the game. A bit of an old skool classic music (which I think has slipped through the cracks) is the opening music to RoboCop on the Spectrum... Is it just me or is this an amazing opening theme tune? (Give a minute before you decide.) (The Amstrad had the same music.)

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... Quantum of Solace Good movie! Very subtle in many ways (Bond's personal story is pretty much told in background detail and minor actions, for instance) which is nice. There isn't much in the way of "hooray, Bond is cool" in it, though, it's actually pretty dark (which is fine). A bigger problem for me was the fact that they've started to reintroduce the shite aspects of Bond again (after successfully jettisoning them in Casino Royale), namely unrealistic technology and the idea that Bond can bed a woman, ANY woman, just by looking at her. It's dark, intelligent and not quite as good as Casino Royale, but still recommended. Now I just need to see Burn After Reading and W.
