I also checked out the demo the other day. Incredibly impressed with the astonishingly beautiful visuals and I loved the concept -- it has the potential to say some quite deep things about control and freedom. Problems: Far too trial and error. To people who own this: Do you ever masters the controls and run through a level without having to do the same bit over and over? Or is it always like this? It seems too Dragon's Lair in this respect. Also; great idea, brilliant design, unique world, clever concept, incredibly different So what's with the lame voice on the radio who tells you what to do? It sounds like he just walked out of Gears of War/Duke Nukem/X2. Totally out of place and cliched and just ruined the atmosphere for me

Yeah, I've been looking into this "avenue". The problem (for me) is twofold: 1. The hddss.bin is unique to every HD. Microsoft could easily shut down all the ones that have been shared in the past (and let's face it, everyone who's done this hack will be using the same code). 2. I don't want to lose what's currently on my 20Gb HD and there's a few rumblings of certain saves not transferring properly -- PLUS you need to buy one of those transfer leads, too. Other than that... I'm very tempted to save some money. (Also, I put the "homophobia is gay" tag there because a. there was homophobic tag and b. -- and this was the clincher -- I thought it sounded rather funny/clever/weird. No hard feelings, I hope.)

That's a brilliant idea! It doesn't have to be just GTA either!

Since I've now decided I absolutely need a bigger 360 HD... does anyone know anything about newer models coming out or impending reductions in price? It seems that with the new Netflix thing and all the other goodness they're pushing, now would be the time for a price drop/newer model. Anything on the grapevine before I splash out on something I can't quite afford?

Well, since Wrestle has the whole evening on Tuesday, let's go for that. And maybe Miffy might be able to make the Sat, too.
-
In the next 7 days: I can do any day except this Friday. Sat (all day)/Sun (all day)/Wed (eve only) are best, but I can make any other evening (8pm GMT onwards). (Jeez, didn't life used to be a lot less complicated?)

Smoking fresh! (Same for that Jason Chan painting.)

The All New XBox Gamertag Exchange Thread!
ThunderPeel2001 replied to ThunderPeel2001's topic in Multiplayer Networking
Just an FYI: It's a pain having to remember people's GamerTags, so did you know you can add friends by clicking their GamerCard or by going to: http://live.xbox.com/member/insertgamertaghere Pretty handy! -
Ok, I'm gonna shift my 360 back from my gf's on Monday just for this event!
-
I think you're wrong there, but I'll have to check. I have a distinct memory of seeing box covers for several games I own. Did you make it burp yet by pressing down on the right stick?

Actually it's the same here, too -- but it's the potential of multiplayer that I enjoy Also: Checking other's scores on things (like Guitar Hero and Rock Band) is a great way to see how you're doing, and set yourself new goals to attempt to beat. I love doing that. If it wasn't for that feature on GH2 and yours and n0wak's scores, I never would have kept trying to improve (although you both continue to elude me with your talent!). -
Excellent! Anyone up for a GTA fest this weekend?
-
Also, here's me, looking a tad pretentious: As approved and vetted by my gf

I'm with Wrestle and Jake -- I LOVE the new interface! I'm still getting to grips with it, but I think it's a massive improvement so far. Only bad bits: It was still pretty slow at downloading information about games (cost and whatnot), which was annoying, but it could have been because so many people were downloading the update yesterday (fingers crossed). The friends list (which I do actually like) froze on me at one point, but it came back, thankfully. I'm not completely sure how much easier it's going to be to find the information I want quickly: New Arcade games, who's online, comparing achievements, news -- but it does seem like it's going to be much more efficient once I get used to it. I certainly hope so. Damn, I'm seriously loving this update! Plus I can't wait to try the new HD installs... faster loading? Quieter disc access? Yes, please! (Looks like I finally have that excuse to buy a 120GB HD - Rock Band, Guitar Hero II and GTA all loading faster between "levels"? I NEED this!)

HD installs?!? Does it work for any game?? HFG! This could rock!

Left 4 Dead - Four Pack Buying Extravaganza
ThunderPeel2001 replied to castorp's topic in Idle Banter
I was thinking about this but it's still not as cheap as it could be: $150 / 4 = $37.5. It's currently retailing on Steam for $50. That, for me, translates to about £25GBP as opposed to about £35GBP. That's all well and good except...! I can buy it from Amazon.co.uk for £19.97GBP (which is about $30) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Left-4-Dead-PC-DVD/dp/B001GIOGDW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=video games&qid=1227103297&sr=8-1 Might want to double-check your area for any better deals. -
Lol!!!
