Bah. What error message are you getting?

A gift? How weird... I don't trust him!!! (Funny though! )

And the BBC is probably our finest news source (actually, to be fair, it is rather good).
-
I think it might be to do with the hyper-reality and how juvenile it is (Ninja pizza delivery guy?). And I could really give two flying fucks about Hiro, too. Or what Snow Crash is. Actually it sounds like a lot of the reasons you disliked Neuromancer... I hope I'm not horribly disappointed the next time I read it I loved the little details and observations in NM, and I appreciated them too in SC -- but they seemed less realistic and more OTT for the sake of it. NM was a lot more subtle (as I recall): Molly getting angry/disgusted with Case for not being able to eat his steak (he's secretly on a speed come-down) -- making the subtle point that they had to grow an animal from birth just so he could eat it; an expensive luxury in this dystopian future.

The All New XBox Gamertag Exchange Thread!

Brilliant! -
Well, technically, that wasn't the owner it was the guy in charge of the marketing. I do wonder what's going to happen over this. Did anyone watch the video on the BBC? (Investigative journalism... shock!) Could the owners REALLY think they'd done a good job?

Like I said, if I was 14 it would have been my favourite book of all time, for sure, but it all just seems a bit, I dunno... silly(?)/hard to relate to/"kerazy" for the sake of it? I used to LOVE LOVE LOVE that stuff. (I wonder if Neuromancer is actually the same... but I DID read that when I was younger and still love it -- guilty pleasure?)

As I recall, it's a great John Carpenter classic -- but the ending is a bit cheesey.

Only in England...

Grand Thumb Auto 4: Rise of the Thumb

I vote Wed again, but it's cool if it's Thursday this time. -
Ah, the classics: WarGames and Sneakers... guilty pleasures, but pleasures non-the-less.
-
I'd certainly love to see a fair vision of Neuromancer. As for Snow Crash... Hmmm. I don't know. If I'd read it when I was 14 I think I would have absolutely loved it. As it stands... I just found it to be annoying (and I ultimately stopped reading it). *shrugs*

Yikes! Freaky profile image. They Live, right?

Also, I was reading the manual last night and guess what... You CAN try and "talk your way out of an attack" by holding R and holstering your weapon. Thank god for that! Looks like the uproar surround me opening the door to the armoury could have been avoided after all! As a side note: Has anyone found themselves getting stuck in the scenery? I managed to do it almost three times last time I played...

*phew* Thankfully you're only half right. Just copy your saves into your gamertag saves directory and you can continue with them (and pick up any achievements you unlock along the way)

My gf just bought The Curious Village on eBay (very decent game, btw -- highly enjoyable). She's been playing it for a few days when I decided to look at the box....... I think most people wouldn't notice, it's very well done, but it's clearly a bootleg. It looks very professional, it comes with a game manual (full colour, 20 odd pages), a Nintendo booklet, a proper box. The cart itself looks flawless (if it wasn't for the ugly choice of artwork). But it's a bootleg all right: The print quality is a tad lower than normal. There's no fifth plate on the Nintendo seal. The text on the back is clearly from a review ("Most puzzle games are boring...") and, most obviously, so is the manual itself! I'm kinda shocked and disappointed

Grand Thumb Auto 2: Return of The Thumb

Aye! Good with playing with you all. Shame the headset thing wasn't working. (Although if you could hear someone swearing profusely, it was probably me.) Those players were TOO damn difficult. It's very annoying when you get some dude who's impossibly good. Still, there was some hilarious moments. Like the time (I think) Toblix was in the backseat and I decided I'd try and kill him by driving at highspeed into a wall (but jumping out just before, so I wasn't too badly injured, natch)... but he obviously saw it coming and jumped out just before me. I ended up jumping out too late and slamming into the wall myself... then getting shot by Toblix Anyways, hopefully next time we'll get some not-so-good opponents -

Well it's a deciding vote from you, really. I'm not sure if everyone is keen to do two nights(?). Also, I may only be there at 9.15 tonight... I'm lame. I know. -
Seriously enjoying this! I'm only level 3, but I've already taken out two super-mutants and a claw thing. Just at Arfu (or whatever it's called). Not much of a town (four huts on a bridge?) but the game is soooo nice to look at. I'm still waiting for my key to unlock Windows LIVE functionality... I hope it keeps track of my achievements in the meantime

Wow. This is mighty impressive. It's Half Life in the HL2 engine, isn't it? Will Valve pick this up and publish it?

What's going to change? I guess n0wak (hi n0wak!) can't make it at 9PM GMT/4PM EST/1PM PST today, because of a meeting? What time are you available on Thurs, Nachimir? I guess you've got the deciding vote if you can't make it until late.
