Loved DREDD. Low budget, British styled, ultra violence.

Arndt's a great writer. He did a few interviews for Creative Screenwriter Magazine, too

I was listening to an interview with Vince Gilligan and he said they spend up to two weeks breaking an episode. That's pretty much unheard of. With the final season it's gone up to three! It's amazing how well it all flows. The whole thing feels like one giant episode.

Totally agree. I kind of feel that moment was anti-climactic and forced. I'm surprised that it was planned from the beginning, it just seemed so OTT with little foreshadowing. Clearly they work better when they're on the fly, then.

Totally amazing. That moment was nuts. I've just finished the first half of the fifth season. I'll have my life back now. It was great, but not perhaps AS great as the other seasons. Also, unfortunately the final scene had been spoiled for me by a headline for an interview somewhere. Still a brilliant cliff-hanger though. Roll on, May...

So, Season 5...
-
Just finished Season 4...

Nice!

Love the thread title. And this game sounds interesting. How are the servers now?

Nothing has changed in several years, so I'm pretty sure it's of medical origin. Who knows, it may pass on it's own before I even get to see a doctor (fingers crossed). What happened with you?

I guess I'm weird, but the dissonance didn't bother me. The sloppy and inconsistent attempts at satire did, as well as the predictability of their stories. I don't really believe my character ran over 30 citizens on the way to his mission. But *I* did, because I wanted to get there quickly.

Bah. I think (although it's undiagnosed, so I could be completely wrong) that I've developed a form of sleep apnea. I can sleep for 11 hours, but still am tired all day long, like I've not had any sleep. I sometimes wake up with my mouth wide open and drool everywhere... despite my nose being unblocked. I have heavy night sweats, too. I could be completely wrong, but it's annoying being so sleepy all the time! Bah. I'll see my GP in the New Year.

Ha! I hate those who think Apple is perfect, and everyone who uses something different is wrong, too. I've never owned a Mac, although I've used them in work for nearly a decade.
-
It'll be awesome, but no one will buy it because they will have moved on... How often has that happened?
-
Agh! I'm a quarter of the way through season four, and it's becoming painful to watch.
-
Clearly you're better at negotiations than me *sob*

It's cool. I wasn't really dissing *any* platform. (If you like an OS, use it, is my philosophy.) My comment was meant in bon homie -- as in, "Computers can be frustrating sometimes, eh?... But still we tinker with them, even when they drive us nuts". I'm intrigued to know which OS you think I was trying to give props to. Personally I'm sure that Linux is pretty awesome if you know it. I actually think Windows has drastically improved in recent years. And OSX is very well made, and designed, but I prefer Windows (probably because I'm used to it). I would never argue that any one OS was clearly better than another, every one has its pros and cons, if you ask me. Ben isn't far wrong, though. I used to LOVE the Amiga OS. After learning that, the way Windows does things seems so counter-intuitive compared to that.

There's definitely a playfulness in the GTA games, but I think even *that* is often wrong-footed. I could totally see this image as being silly, by itself. But if that were the intention, wouldn't the rest of the campaign also feature similar levels of silliness? :-/

I knew it!

Thank you, Ben.
-
I suspect Ben.

Nice write up! Don't think that the Illusive Man was in the first game though, was he?

I don't know. How great does Bioshock Infinite look?
