I guess the acquisition makes this a bit of a grey area... Was there really a deadline? Who set it? Do deadlines becomes acquired, too? What's Freedom Force and why should I get it?

I don't know if it's the engine or just uninteresting lighting... Whatever it is, it's the only thing, along with the dubious sound production, that stops TTG's games from having the same production level as the glossiest professional games.

I, for one, am definitely looking forward to this. It's got to be a million times better than Star Wars: Galaxies, for one thing.

Ok, I've had time to watch the videos and learn more about the new Special Edition. Amazingly, these guys appear to have done a damned stellar job. The voice-acting seems spot-on, the backgrounds are absolutely faithful, the music seems sweet. Generally the type of job I would have done myself if I'd have the money to hire a boatload of talented artists and programmers to do all the work for me. There is one small flaw, however... Dear lord god almighty... No. Who is this fuckwit? Somewhere along the line somebody mixed up "guileless" with Guile. There isn't an ounce of charm within this character... He is NOT Guybrush. Compare with the easy-going charm of Guybrush from CMI. Just looking at him can't help raise a smile...

Hmmm... They should release it for the PC (with fixed audio, natch).

He was a seriously cool guy. I saw him be interviewed and take questions from the audience, and yes, he was very considered and likeable (and surprisingly funny at times, too). I got to ask him one question, which the answer of which won't mean anything unless you've read Homicide, unfortunately*. But he was very nice, very genuine and very down to earth. An awesome way to spend an evening * - I assume that no-one here has; I tried to start a discussion about it and there were no takers.
