I'll do it as soon as he does!

Huh? Are you serious? Or are you fucking with me? You sound like a crazy fanboi. There's no great conspiracy... The word "spell" is written in capital letters just to make sure you don't miss it... I mean, if it's ALL make believe (which may have been the original intention, to be fair) then grown up Elaine doesn't even exist. I mean why even have that scene if not to explain what you've just seen?! Ah, you are fucking with me, aren't you?

It just struck me how having a "red ring" as result of buying Microsoft's products could be construed... Did the world miss a colossal joke?

Lol! That's awesome! That's the most hilarious quote ever. Wow.
-
Yeah, they took the whole thing pretty literally in CMI (ie. the Carnival ACTUALLY exists!) but they did a good job alright.

New "old-school" LucasArts game announced tomorrow

Aha! I feel as though it's precisely what you've predicted: The opportunity to buy the old games......... AGAIN! But this time they'll work on your new system.......... just like with ScummVM. Nearly time to find out! -
Nah, Ron's not great in interviews. Has anyone got the one where he confidently predicted the demise CD-ROMs? Even without that, can't a guy change his mind?! It's odd that if you say something in an interview then THAT is what you believe. Period. I doubt I could hold myself up to such a standard. Heck, I've probably contradicted myself several times just on this forum. I don't know why, but he seems like messing with people regarding the "secret" of Monkey Island, and his supposed plans for MI3. While I don't doubt he'd love to do HIS version, I seriously doubt he has any serious plans. Also: The whole LeChuck/kiddie/amusement park thing WAS explained in the original game... at least a little bit.

Anyone played this yet... I'm having some difficulty getting "into it" after all the hype. I kind of feel that it's special for having done things first (like the whole good/evil bit), and for being unusual...? Any thoughts? I've finally just reached Pharod after doing a million side-missions. NO SPOILERS PLEASE!

They'll never stop us! Now, if you'll excuse me, there's a guy in Japan requesting an mp3 from my computer... To the airport!
-
Aye, CMI is the MI that I've returned to the most. What a thoroughly enjoyable game it is.

Wow, a Twin Peaks fan. Welcome. Ever been to the festival?
-
Well, come on then... I'm hugely disappointed I've not been able to say "fair enough", yet
-
Aaaaah! Spoilers! Run away!

Why did they split as a team, does anyone know? Delicatessen and City of Lost Children are still my favourites.
-
You should read those, they're supposed to be good.

Away from the newsgroups!

Are you insane?! How can you say that??! I've been here longer than you, dammit... Don't go ruining it for me now!!!!!!! God, I HATE you!
-
Keep going... and come back with your thoughts on the last third

I love that guy, but whatever happened to Caro?
-
That's the way we like it here!

It's all about camera angles!

The conversations with Wally are definitely too detailed for the beginning of the game, and it loses the excitement a little, but you can always skip them. Once you're off the ship, the fun really begins with CMI (although I did enjoy "meeting" Murray for the first time). It's such a great game.

Definitely some of my favourite moments, too! Shame Tropic Thunder wasn't as funny as it could have been (they had enough time to perfect the screenplay!), but I would add Jack Black tied to a tree into that list. And also the scene with Jack Black in Anchorman.
