Monkey Island 1 special edition coming to XBLA
ThunderPeel2001 replied to Marek's topic in Video Gaming
Well I think the Monkey Island Special Edition is unforgivably awful, if that's what you mean? -
Ha! Done that myself. Very annoying. Oh well, sounds like you just had a really bad day. (Were you panicking in the interview or something? I know of two friends who would get beyond freaked out before things like this. Unable to think type of panic. Their doctors both prescribed them this tablet you take before going in to your presentation/interview/whatever, that calms you down by blocking the massive bolts of adrenaline they were getting. They both said they were still freaked, but that they could think a thousand times more clearly.)

I have listened to this episode yet, but from the comments I've kind of got the gist: Nick got a groovy job and is moving away? You know guys, the best podcast in the world ever is recorded by two guy in two different states. It IS possible to continue with a little extra effort (and no travelling). Could this be an option?

I think that requires some sort of video from you... Also, Lumines?! As in the 360 XBLA game? (Is this another title I've written off too soon?) -
'Pay what you want' model - 2DBoy sales data

I don't know... it might still work out. I wonder if it would help the sale of Ben and Dan's games, for example? -

Don't sweat it, Patters... there's always another GTbA. -
Awesome, although I haven't had much luck trying those tactics, I have to say. Usually my enemy is already going to a resource point when I'm going for my first one. Then I'll send me troops out to the one they're trying to take over and they'll go after the one I just took over... and I'll possibly lose both. I need to keep practising, I guess! Double Teaming has saved the day on many occasions, though. Also, looks like Tim foresaw my need! Ah, maybe I just wasn't in the mood for it. I just found it to be quite boring and predictable... My friend really enjoyed it, though, so it's probably just me. Harrelson was amusing, though (as was "you know who").

Yeah, yeah... "great moments", guys... *sniff* -
I don't think so, I think it was Doom Mire (or something like that). Have you got any tips on strategy? The quick "large blob of units -> attack enemy stage" technique failed miserably. It seems to me that you almost have to upgrade your stage to level 3 before you even get going... (Maybe send out some headbangers to open a geyser or two while you're upgrading.) Would you agree?

So you've definitely tried downloading an installing the following driver? http://bit.ly/Tanukitsune And you've definitely pressed the source button (on the monitor) to switch over to DVI input? (Not to be confused with the "Picture Mode".) If so, your monitor might be broken. Have you got another one you can test the output of your graphics card from (so you can check to make sure your GC isn't broken)?

Why some guy I know is going to pirate CoD 6 (and why I hate the average gamer)

Memory sticks, not hard drives. (But I appreciate your points.) -
I attempted to play against the AI again last night and FUCK ME it's hard! Has anyone else attempted this yet? I was obviously feeling a bit too cocky because I tried the "normal" difficulty and got utterly, utterly trounced. What's weird is how the ingame battles are SO SO SO much easier. I haven't lost one so far. I played the "final battle" last night and was cake-walking it before I decided to turn it off and go to bed... but the AI Practice Mode is like an entirely different game! Has anyone else tried beating the AI in AI Practice Mode yet? (Found under "Multiplayer".) Is it just me or is it genuinely massively difficult??

Don't be so hard on yourself, you don't know precisely how it went. You may have done better than you think...

Usually round about now... Although it really tends to get cooking a bit later on. -
I know it sounds weird, but I feel like a part of my brain just finally clicked and went "jeez, they're just on a soundstage with people rocking the car while they pretend to look shocked". Of course I always knew that, but the video just made it really click for some reason. All of the external stuff is just put together in someone's computer... it's so lame

Absolutely, I didn't mean to criticize, I was just genuinely surprised the game was good enough to feature in anyone's "best game ever" category. Clearly I wrote it off too quickly. -

The only reason I'll download something these days is because it's too old/rare to buy new. I'm proud to say that _legally_ download all my music thanks to my Zune Pass and light subscription to eMusic. Of course, when I was a kid there was no copyright protection on music, and very little on games... and I had no money. (I almost feel sorry for kids today in the same way I felt sorry for the console kids of my own generation -- I had a veracious appetite for games back then, certainly more than was even slightly affordable to the average parent!) -
Well, by default Windows installs its own monitor driver... have you already installed a monitor driver made the monitor manufacturer? Also, double check your graphic card settings, especially your dual monitor settings. It seems like a very weird problem, but it's probably made a lot harder by trying to diagnose it over a forum... Hmmm. What model graphics card and monitor do you have?
-
Hmm. I know what you mean, but there's other aspects to the gameplay/strategy that make up for the "horde attack" simplicity. I don't think it's an incredibly involved RTS (in fact I've been corrected and told it's actually an "action strategy"), just that you do need some sort of strategy to win. Sending over a massive group of units will just end in tears, for example. Previously I'd believed the whole "battle" gameplay was an structured and chaotic mess, but I was happy to discover I was wrong.

Oblivion is your favourite game of all time?? Wow. I really must be missing something, I had no idea it was THAT good. -
Sounds like your graphics card isn't outputting anything via DVI (really weird) or your monitor isn't switching over to the other input (can you do it manually?). Getting drivers for your monitor would probably help. Just to clarify: You should only have a DVI lead going from your computer to your monitor. No other leads going to or from your PC or to monitor, right? Also: Why did you mention your 360 at the beginning of your post?
