Well I picked it up and I have to say that the Occulus of the Lost makes driving around the landscape listening to metal a LOT more fun! Only a few more things to go now 100% -yuk yuk- Also: How do you change the effigies????

Wow, the lighting of the game looks to have improved dramatically from that screenshot. Very nice!

I'm a massive Gilliam fan and have seen just about all his movies... this was a different problem. The beginning did drag, too, now that you mention it. I do feel that Waits's speech at the end probably held something important emotional info... but the ending felt unearned.

But MI and MI2 don't run at 12fps, they run at something like 2.

Yeah, I think that was probably the biggest problem for me, the story didn't really come together at the end. I didn't really understand who had won or why, and it just didn't hang together well. I guess the tube-thing prevented him from being hung, but it was all a little weird. I just didn't feel it.

It's really interesting to hear all that stuff about XI. Although I've picked it up (on both PC and 360 - *slaps forehead*) I've never actually ever played it. Nice to hear what the pros and cons are -- and unless I make some good friends, willing to playing at the same time as me, it sounds like progressing would be a nightmare. Nice to hear perspective on it, though.

That Bubble game is damned addictive. 26 is my best so far, which is pretty lame. Great mixture of Puzzle Bobble and er, snooker. Which is actually very good.

That might be awesome. The other problem with MI2 was the extreme difficulty settings. Something in between -- with new puzzles? -- might be good.

In the last chunk of the game the designers stopped writing things for Guybrush to say. So everything became "Nice x" where "x" was the name of the object under the cursor. It really feels unfinished and I'd love for them to be able to go back and add the level of polish that's elsewhere in the game. I think it's been mentioned in several interviews that there was internal pressure not to spend too much time on the end -- as it was presumed not many people would see it.

Ugh. Nice backgrounds... but the characters look SO amateur. Hopefully the voices will be better than MI:SE, too. What's this about "new puzzles"?!? (As mentioned on Mojo.) The game felt unfinished towards the end... have they tried to finish it off? (Pretty amazing, if so!)

Beatles Rock Band (Value Bundle) is £50 in HMV at the moment. At least it was.

Really? I didn't enjoy it that much at all (although I really wanted to). Some nice moments, but it just didn't hang together as a whole for me. (Was my experience marred by Tom Waits's speech at the end being ruined by the sound cutting out, I wonder? I remember feeling pretty annoyed that I couldn't hear what he was saying.)

Great stuff, and congrats to Miffy for carrying our team, against all odds (and in a broken police car) victory... That was pretty amazing! Also, thanks to Toblix for offering himself up as points fodder many times (I didn't come last, woot). Great videos, too. Thanks for recording them and posting them, James! Obviously I didn't know what it looked like when I exploded Toblix -- I just tried to time a grenade at just the right time -- so it's nice to see what actually happened. Pure fluke that it took someone out, but I was pretty pleased that it caused a little mayhem! Can't believe you managed to cross the jump on a scooter, either! That's some madskillz!

I totally agree, especially when Blow says things like "well, if I could put the meaning into words, I wouldn't have needed to make the game", which translates as "I don't know, it's just a feeling I was going for" or "I'm really really really pretentious". However, Braid is awesome, so I totally forgive. Not sure about your "David Lynch" comparison, though. Lynch is a much more talented artist than Blow. Also: I'm going to call it and say that The Witness will be pants. Sorry, I just don't think he's got two Braids in him.

I guess the idea is what it'll just be a total chaotic interpretation at the end... which probably won't work, but might have some happy accidents in it.

Well I ploughed my way through a Jeeves omnibus and it was definitely hit and miss. Which is to say that some stories were funnier that others.

A friend of mine is setting up his own bi-weekly comedy event here in London (in fact it's on tomorrow). Got any tips?
