  1. Brütal Legend overload...!

There was an interview with Tim Schafer were he discussed sales figures, but dang if I can't find it.
  2. Books, books, books...

Currently reading The Picture of Dorian Gray. (Need to catch up on my classics.) But I'm interested in Adventures in the Screen-Trade!
  3. iPad

Um, that's not true. The first half of the review was not written for people looking for reason to hate the iPad (in the same way the second half wasn't deliberately written for people looking for reasons to love it), it was written for techies, period. The "non-techie" review is here: But seeing as I'm pretty sure we're all techies here, I ignored the review written for people who need a "goof-proof computer".
  4. Brütal Legend overload...!

I think Full Throttle sold about the same (if memory serves).
  5. Books, books, books...

Don't forget to consult my handy guide! (I wrote this a long time ago, apologies if it sucks.)
  6. iPad

This is the best review I've seen (from the New York Times): I've bolded what I see as the biggest issues. How can you realistically use this device in comfort for any about of time when it weighs that much? And if you can't read in direct sunlight (like you can with the Kindle) it's never going to replace newspapers/books. Not great for reading books or websites, and it's not great for typing. What IS it great for?
  7. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

Getting a bit tired of them, myself.
  8. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

Fucking brilliantly accurate... and also disturbingly funny. FxKtZmQgxrI
  9. Retro Game Challenge

Haha! Wow, that looks awesome... I only wish they were the real games. That probably would have left it with a more balanced and enjoyable bunch to play with (based on the review). Still, I'd definitely pick this up.
  10. Movie/TV recommendations

Aye, the first one is still my favourite.
  11. Movie/TV recommendations

You got that right. Maybe you had to be there, though. The dialogue, (most of) the characters and that pesky kid, all are very annoying... but it's also a brilliant action film that was quite unlike anything before it. But maybe if you saw it after hearing how everyone loves it, it wouldn't be so good. I watched it when I was 11 or 12 and completely unaware of what it was... It blew me away. When I watch it again now, I still get the same moments, plus I love the overall mythology. Still, Cameron's dialogue and characterisation (at least with minor characters) is dire.
  12. Grand Thumb Auto 55: The Awesome Rocket Trick

    It nearly worked!
  13. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

    Lolz!
  14. Movie/TV recommendations

I love The Producers. The "remake"/"filmed stage adaptation" is ok, but not as good as the original in my book. Gene Wilder was amazing (heck, everyone was really good), but the new cast wasn't as good. I was lucky enough to catch the stage version in London, which was also very entertaining, especially for a fan ("Springtime for Hitler" on stage, right in front of you!).
  15. Cave Story

That's what it seems like (from what I've seen of it). Strange that the fan subs should be of higher quality, but I guess the fans just did a better job!
  16. Grand Thumb Auto 55: The Awesome Rocket Trick

I shall be there to witness it. (Is it rocket jump? )
  17. Movie/TV recommendations

    Boo!
  18. Garriott on the Moon

Fuck it. I hereby stake my claim as sole owner of The Moon. Woo! I'm gonna be rich when the inevitable lunar property explosion starts
  19. Cave Story

Interested to hear what Wii-Thumbs make of it! Anyone got it yet?
  20. Geddit? Who's around for more "online mirth with rockets" this Tuesday? This really is becoming a highlight of my week
  21. Grand Thumb Auto 54: LIVe and Let Die

    Good game everyone.
  22. This game is stupid, why can't I stop playing it?

22k That's quite enough of that! (What show is it from?)
  23. Movie/TV recommendations

I hate that. I think I've passed so many barriers now for films that I never saw when I was a kid: Big Trouble in Little China, Escape from New York, Flight of the Navigator, Neverending Story, etc. I got around to watching Escape from New York and it just blowed... much to the annoyance of some friends of mine. I don't think it can be helped... once you missed them, you've missed them, I think. (Unless you suddenly find yourself in precisely the right frame of mind for some silliness - 2am maybe?) WarGames was caught at the right time, though: I love that movie! Fun fact: Some people watching the film in 1983 felt it was far too unrealistic... that computers could ever be able to talk over the phone line. Kind of puts the film into perspective!
  24. Human sexuality in art is necessary, using big tits to try and get horny men to play your games is just base.
