Dude, it's a tricky affair, but he was kidding. Mr 'Blix is a fan of Gilbert's games, for one thing.

Hey, I found the "comedy Hispanic" bit on YouTube. Rejoice in all its gory. (I can't be the only one who finds this pretty damned offensive?) dR_wNXvcZ9g

Holy crap, I've noticed: Back to the Future II was right! HgRiNCyFgHk The future is here!

You fell into that most deadly trap, a post by Toblix. (Hint: You might want to read his disclaimer.)

Naw. Anything to get a laugh. If you'd have been first, I'd have been amazed, but who would have guessed THAT joke (of all jokes) would have been done to death?? I'm also amazed that so many people even remembered the reference to quote it themselves.

Just wanted to post back to say thanks -- I love this podcast! It's more "corporate" than my beloved Hollywood Saloon, but it's filled with passion and some great film talk. Thanks a lot!

Armchair, that's wonderful! Murdoc, you don't sound too angry, just stating the facts, really. Hope it comes together.

GTA LXII - Take 2: Don't tell me you've got something "more important" to do
ThunderPeel2001 posted a topic in Multiplayer Networking
You know the drill. After last week's phenomenal no-show, I thought I'd post this a little earlier Ice cream vans and rockets? Such a sweet mix. How can you survive without your regular dose? You'll only be left feeling empty for the rest of the week if you don't join in... 9PM BST -

Great game, chaps -
Yeah, and I Googled "beach" and found this: Looks awful! I don't know why you sound so happy.

Thank god! I can finally do something else with my life!

Very good. The first time I heard that I was utterly amazed at the person's genius, it just absolutely ticked me... but unfortunately that's actually the third time someone has said that to me since I watched the movie(!). Sorry. (I think everyone is a lot more cultured than I realised.) Plus, I discovered it was a gag from The Simpsons, too... MARGE (trying to get Homer to watch a subtitled movie): Come on Homer, you liked Rashomon... HOMER: That's not how I remember it!

Wow, it sounds like MS really dropped the ball here. Natal has been this "amazing" thing in the pipeline for ages, and when they go to demo it, nobody cares (apparently). Doh.

Anyone checked this out yet? Thoughts, opinions, rants? For those who don't know, I'm talking about this: http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/games/splash/g/gameroomxbla/

I really liked the look of it. Also I think the designer is hot. (These two things should not be related, I know.)

Thou shalt not cryyyyy... or watch Travolta movies (sorry -- not for me! ) Ah yes, I really like the look of this, but I was so disappointed with the crappy quality of the subtitles on my DVD that I never got further than 20 mins in. I might check out the looooooong version (the TV series that they condensed into the movie) eventually. Watched Rashomon last night. Pretty enjoyable, but not amazing. I later learned why it was so heralded (its place in history is pretty important) so that allowed me to appreciate it a bit more.

Ooh! I might just take you up on that offer at some point. I can't see Lost Boys on the list, but I do see Wrath of Khan... excellent, excellent movie. Plus Once Upon A Time in the West is one of those films that was really designed to be seen at the cinema.

Here's my opinion of it (as someone who enjoys playing older retro games): Boy, does it suck balls. Although there's one or two playable games, it's just such a complete waste of time and utterly confusing. WHY should I bother creating an arcade?? I just want to play some games, so WHY do I have to navigate from room to room, checking each and every cabinet, to find a game I want to play? It's like the people who made this whole thing did it in a vacuum and never actually bothered to ask anyone what would be fun or useful or interesting. ("They'll love this!" - yeah, famous last words.) It frustrates me because I think it's something that could have worked out.

Ooh! Thanks for the heads up. I tried Trials HD and did enjoy the "trying to beat friend's ghosts" bit.
-
Good to know. For me it's been Geometry Wars 2 -- damn, so good.
-
Yay! It really was something special. There's that new book out featuring stories written by the show's writers if you're suffering from major withdrawals afterwards. I'd be interested to know what you think of the film on your recent viewing. I had some strong thoughts as to why it was not a bigger hit.

That Snoopy game got a good review somewhere, but I've yet to check it out. Any tried the new "arcade room" (edit: it's called Game Room) thing yet? Boy, does it suck balls. Although there's one or two playable games, it's just such a complete waste of time. WHY should I bother creating an arcade?? I just want to play some games, WHY do I have go from room to room checking each and every cabinet to find out what games I just downloaded. It's like the people who made this whole thing did it in a vacuum and never bothered to actually ask anyone what would be fun or useful or interesting. Pants!
