Firefly is 70% off on Bluray on Amazon.com -- today only. (I wouldn't normally share such things, but hell, it's FIREFLY!)
-
Cyrus Solid movie, interestingly dark, with some great performances, but the third act was too thin (we never really got under the skin of the titular character) and all the best moments were in the trailer. Still worth a watch, though, especially if you haven't seen the trailer.

Not sure if you've bothered to check the Kindle page on Amazon, but... It also has a built-in dictionary. Document types it supports are: Kindle (AZW), TXT, PDF, Audible (Audible Enhanced (AA, AAX)), MP3, unprotected MOBI, PRC. And HTML, DOC, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP through conversion. No support for *.LIT (Microsoft) or *.EPUB (no idea why) My only concern now is the so-called "optimum 11 words per line" thing. How important is it, does anyone know?

This thread may have broken my drought... Don't wanna jinx it!

Time for something highbrow. z-cMub_WlMc (It's a slow week in memes, I guess.)

I love this! Edit: And then very quickly I went "meh". Hmm. Strange reaction!

Is this thread getting more base...?

Yeah, I hope they go down this stylized route as well.

It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.

I've heard of Hopkins FBI and it's apparently a lot worse than "not-so-great". There's an entertaining write-up that pegs it as THE worst adventure game of all time: http://www.richardcobbett.com/codex/the-horror-of-hopkins-fbi/

Eh? As far as indy games go, Braid was a huge success. Who are you calling nerd, nerd?

I think you're about to get loved through the pants. Ahahahaha! (Sorry, too funny. If I'd had liquid in my mouth, it would now be on my monitor.)

I also like the "yeah, big difference" reaction from Marty.

I prefer to think of it as "RoboCop vision".

Lol. I've no idea. Better than DarkSeed, worse than Grim Fandango? It's basically about an animator who works for a soulless corporation, creating brain dead cartoons ("The Fluffy Fluffy Bun Bun Show") who gets trapped in his own idea of hell... Cutopia. rUWBFk0erEs It's better than the intro video suggests... What it does well is balance the hatred for cuteness by making its inhabitants somewhat likeably retarded... Plus, it gets somewhat more subversive as it goes on, IIRC. (I seem to remember an S&M club at one point.)

Grand Thumb Auto: Shakespeare's Revenge?

Yeah, I don't think that's the entire game... just the first set of puzzles, I imagine. Blow is most definitely pretentious, but I think it was a great idea to leave one of the most anticipated releases completely unmanned like that. Most artists want to believe their work is perfect, and want lots of praise, but he really opened himself up to some very honest feedback. I respect that. I also think it's really cool from a marketing point of view: I love the idea of just stumbling across a game I'd LOVE to play (if I knew what it was), but that most people just wandered right past without giving it a second glance... because they didn't take the time to investigate something. Quite romantic, in a way.

Supposed to be really funny. Shame it got such a meagre release Girl 1: "My Momma said my Daddy's name is Black Dynamite" Girl 2: "So did mine!" Black Dynamite: "Yeah, well, It's a very common name."
-
It sure does. But I really wants to play it! (I hope they don't change the look of it too much.) A modern Myst could be really good if done well, and after Braid I'm willing to buy this completely sight unseen.

Is anybody a sad human like me, and have not played any LucasArts adventure games?

Hello? Hello...? Can anyone hear me? Is this thing on? Blasted technology! Operator!!! -
So yes, it's just Texas Hold'em, just like the first TellTale game. Hmm.

Is that it, I wonder? You could be right, although it's been a while now. Feels strange :-/
