REALLY enjoying this so far... my gaming drought has definitely ended! If anyone is interested in going for 100% Completion, RockStar have put this awesome page together. Unlike GTAIV, going for 100% completion is actually fun (I think). This (along with a GameFAQ) has proven so very handy: http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/rdr/checklist.html

Your write up of the Dizzy games is great, Toblix. I played Treasure Island Dizzy on a ZX Spectrum (as nature intended)... but MAN was that game seriously evil. Waiting 10 mins for the game to load, and then this horribly sadistic instant death game... Fire = death. Water = death. Hidden trap = death. It really was far, far, too brutal, and the puzzles made little or no sense (at least to my 10 year old brain). Fantasy Land was a big improvement, but, as you say, the real gem, where they got it all right, was Prince of the Yolkfolk... It was very short, but it was definitely the best designed and most satisfying to play. For anyone who's interested, Treasure Island Dizzy PC version is available to download (for FREE?) from CodeMaster's website: http://www.codemasters.co.uk/downloads/details.php?id=17413 I wish I could have gotten further in this game, but I never made it even to the other island (without cheating) and I never got all the coins. Sooooo hard.

Ok, I think I got it. Thanks! Lol.

Live and Let Die... That's about it
-
So the cipher IS the same? But here you said... My head hurts :\
-
Yeah, I thought he was pretty good in that video.
-
Then what question are you answering in this post? I'm totally confused. Http://WWW.idlethumbs.net/forums/showpost.php?p=155004&postcount=24

Or Mission Impossible, perhaps?
-
Actually I thought he was asking if there was a Linux version... After all the trouble and hoo-ha about getting a PC release I just thought it was ironic that the first question was "but what abut Linux?"
-
Usually only in the evenings, otherwise you get fired.
-
When I said, "maybe it was randomized", I mean the cipher, not the puzzle itself.
-
I hope that was a joke. Lol.
-
Awesome! Also, laser security system fantasy... awesome
-
? The discussion is about whether the cipher was the same or not, lol.
-
Absolutely. I still like the guy and greatly look forward to whatever he produces next. I certainly won't be dancing on his grave if The Witness sucks... I LOVED Braid, so I'm hoping this will be as good as that.
-
Well, griping aside, I just bought it (TellTale Games always seem so reasonably priced, anyway.) Looking forward to this!

She's saying, "Get me the fuck out of here, I'm stuck in 1928 on the set of a Charlie Chaplin movie!".

Anyone else feel like Christopher Lloyd says far too understated in his performance of Doc.... it didn't really sound like him at all.
-
Tell me about it. I haven't even played it yet, either. Double annoying
-
That was insane, but it's amazing how something so simple could make me laugh so much.

In the UK Trick or Treating is totally borked. I remember sitting in a restaurant when two 15 year-old girls came to our table. One had the cheapest 30p mask you've ever seen, the other had no costume whatsoever. In the laziest, can't-be-arsed voice the one with the mask held out her hand and said, "trick or treeeat". I was just like, "you've got to be kidding me". It was just begging! Thankfully they were chased out the restaurant, but man, what cheek! I even saw another table giving them money - ! My ex and I stocked up with chocolate to give out one year, and nobody came by. Speaking to other people, who did get trick or treaters, they just refused to open their door anyway. Whole thing sucks
-
Hermie said creepy nerd. There's a difference.
-
Mine were definitely different because, like you, I immediately went "you're kidding me?!" and started entering all the same ones in again... but they didn't work for me. *shrugs*

I can't think of any other piece of art that's impossible to talk about... Can you? I certainly can't think of art that's been damaged by being scrutinized, either. Sure, sometimes you may not like what you hear, or even vehemently disagree with the interpretation because you liked your own that much better. That's great, but with Braid, I haven't heard a single cohesive interpretation that holds water. Another 2c in the jar.

Mine didn't, maybe it's randomized? Hmm.
