It's nearly time for the Oscars... 4RDHk2-p_EA

Another way of looking at it: It's Twister for the current generation.

With the rise of girl gaming, they're trying to test to see if a new market exists for "young, hip" couples to play games together. It'll happen, I think, but they missed the mark with the advertising.

Saw Rabbit Hole. Very good film. I had one major issue with it, though:

I shall be there at 8.30pm. Also, that map is wrong, I believe. This is more accurate, isn't it? http://bit.ly/BluePosts

They just skipped the game on this one. 0DvOxsNPLus

Words... Fail... The first 40 seconds might be the worst thing I've ever seen in my entire life. It's amazing how wrong they got this.

I think I can live with just about all of those flaws, thankfully. Although the last one is particularly irksome. I really wish Shatner had agreed to do the cool cameo they had planned, too. It would have rocked, but apparently his "I don't do cameos" ego got in the way. Fool.

[Sesame Street] I guess we all have to buy a Kinect now...

How are these games working out for DoubleFine so far? Are they making a profit? Did the plan work? -
Nope. That part of the backlot has been rebuilt as it was... (as confirmed by the two people who were showing me around). It was only last year that I was there. (I'm very lucky indeed -- it was also a bit naughty. If security had caught us we would have been escorted off the lot.)

I've only seen it once. I'm interested in hearing about these plot holes.

The last cut-scene where from Psychonauts appears will undoubtedly have fans for a sequel for that classic game!

I'd like to announce that I've been to the actual square in real life. Actually walked around it and everything. Yes, my head nearly exploded. (It's noticeably smaller than it looks in the movies... about the size it is in the game, I think.)

Ok, clearly I missed something. I thought you were saying there's no better word than "fascist" to describe allowing civilians with guns to walk around in the street...? You must have been referring to something else.
-
I agree, I think it's the best example of in any recent game I think of. Having at the end of the game was a big surprise, especially the bit where Levi the Hobo . I can't wait for the everyone else here to discover , especially when they see cut-scene. Of course, like you say, I think was probably responsible for all of these things. Does anyone know if Brutal Legend had the same type of ending?
-
Not sure who's huffing and puffing? Although it certainly makes me unhappy that it exists, I'm not sure "fascist" is the most apt word... (Generally speaking fascist states don't like an armed populace that might "rise up", after all.) Idiotic? Childish? Unnecessary? Insensitive? They all spring to my mind, but they're probably not very good.

STACKING - Completed The extra stuff that becomes available when you reach 100% completion makes it all worthwhile.

Lol. Just stick it out the window

Well, even though it's shutting down, it could still be overheating. Playing graphically intensive games like that will make your machine hotter. If it's only doing this while you're playing them (and never any other time -- ie. when sitting mostly idle) you can be fairly certain that's what it is. Open up your case and give it a good clean by remove excess dust (don't vacuum it!). Compressed air is the usual method, but you can just move your case outside and give it a good blow, to try and move the bigger chunks of dust. RAM, CPU, case fans and your graphics card are especially important. You can try and monitor the temp of your computer with CPU-Z or Core Temp, but I'd just try leaving the side of your case off for a while and seeing if that helps when you play.

Watched Inside Job last night. Nice to see that someone has come up with a simple way to explain the specifics of what caused the financial crisis. I've had the CDO/subprime thing explained to me many times since it happened (and it was nice to see it confirmed that I understood it well). It's never been a secret, everyone in the financial sector understood precisely what caused it, and there was no argument about it. Hopefully this will put an end to the mass ignorance about what caused this crisis. The problem with the film is that, one you know what caused it all (about 25 mins into the movie -- maybe less), the film sort of wanders into its own conspiracy theories. It reminded me a bit of Michael Moore, only more boring. Maybe I'm wrong (and someone can explain it to me) but I'm not sure I understand supposed to be so bad about a financial consultant not revealing that he was being paid to write a report... Are we supposed to think he did it for fun? The bits of text that come up, revealing people's salaries, seemed a bit unnecessary, too. Do we really expect these people to give back money they've already earned? The stuff about the rating agencies was genuinely frustrating, though, with it being revealed that nobody wanted to accept responsibility. What did everyone else think?
-
I know the first film very well, but as I remember it, it went from three people, to two people -- which made sense -- to fading entirely... but I may be remembering it wrong. I guess you're right though, it doesn't even make that much sense in the movie.

Sounds like your computer is overheating. Does it shutdown or restart?

You tried plugging it back into a SATA 1.5Gb/s port? (What do you mean, "SATA 3", btw? SATA rev 3? Or SATA 3Gb/s?)
