It's more about the characters and story than being a Spirit Guide Detective Agency... When I think of Blackwell, I just think about the characters, not the world. But if you need sci-fi, you need sci-fi.

No. Where does it say it's set in the 1950s? You think the publishers (whose job it is to publish games, including things like figuring out the best market for said games) aren't already aware of this? There's been news articles about it in major gaming sites... Do you think they don't read them? It sucks that you don't own a console, but you sound [not great] when you moan like that.

That's worldwide. Europe and North America is more like <4%, and most of those will be business computers. And the number is getting smaller every day. In short: IMHO, if you code for IE6, you're wasting your time.

Here's what an admin said on the DF forums in response to a similar statement: First, a developer has an idea for a game and how much money it will take to make said game. Second, the developer takes this idea to a whole bunch of different publishers in a short amount of time to try to sell said game to these publishers. Third, the first company who gives the developer money to make said game is the publisher. The publisher then decides what platforms the game will be on. Finally, the developer makes the game for the chosen platforms of the publisher.

Yep. I likes it. I'm sure it's going to have more personality than this trailer indicates, but I am surprised at how plain and normal looking the characters are. I would have preferred the cartoony look of Brutal Legend or Team Fortress 2... but I don't want to second guess until I see more. Best quality (official source): _PlNR5mbNx0 Edit: Why didn't they make it a Steam Punk game and have everyone in Top Hats? That would be more interesting. Hmm.

So who made Maniac Mansion?

You mean there's more than one? -
Wow. Good to know. I think this has clearly shown there's a market for a retro cyberpunky adventure game... Charles Cecil! Also: Toblix, what is your avatar photo?

Do NOT call the bluff. That's an insanely childish and petty thing to do. I assume Nach made a typo here.

So, who is coming tonight? I'm just going to put this out here: A friend of mine is putting on a comedy night tonight. I'd forgotten all about it. I still dedicated to meeting my fellow Thumbs, but if people fancy doing something different, there's this: http://www.comedyclubhouse.co.uk/index.php/archives/8753

Yes. Helpful advice. Also, for the love of God, TELL HER MOTHER. Can you imagine trying to explain why the fuck you didn't tell her that her daughter was suicidal at your ex's funeral? She's her mother and she deserves to know. It's also not your sole responsibility. It does, thankfully, sound like a cry for help/possibly an attempt to manipulate you... but don't take chances. Get in touch with the Samaritans and tell her loved ones.

You mean the video I posted here?

I'm glad I got to see King's Speech before I heard any hype. It was definitely my fave film of the year, so if it wins, I'll be happy.
