That's a very apt question... as that's precisely what happened last time. And I think I'm up for the drinks, not the movie (can't afford it at present).

That sounds terrible. Every documentary make should have some genuine empathy for their subjects, not just be exploiting them
-
Yes. Of course I'd noticed it. What do you take me for, some sort of blithering idiot? Well, then...

F-f-f-f-fatality! (I have no news.)

In the patrons of the cinema...?

Gee. It's hard not to say something cynical. Um. She was my favourite Jennifer, too, but I just hope she sounds younger in the game.

!!! Well there you go. Now I have tons of free space in my inbox. Hurrah

A brilliant interpretation

Good to know. Thanks!

West Wing fans... how do the Seasons play out? I imagine it starts strong, but it ran for so long that I'm sure it faltered at some point. Anyone know when? It's one thing to be disappointed when a show ends, but in a way it's weird it's worse when you discover that only the first three seasons are any good, and the rest just break your heart.

Haha! Sadly I guess everything else in that article didn't go far enough to make sure people get that it was a joke. Sure, it was very ridiculous, but it has been EXTREMELY ridiculous for it to be funny. "OpenMP" and "VSM" and "BSR" and "occlusion" are not funny.

Holy crap... That's pretty amazing. Ask and you shall receive! -
Ironic that by the time I see this that the company behind it (apparently an internet TV channel) ceased production 18 months ago.

Lol. I think you're right. Thanks for the advice, everyone

Oh yes. I already have that, actually. It's very good. I was thinking along the lines of Baldur's Gate... I've never played anything from that series?

Hehe. The music is like an out of tune version of this... f1ZcO79rsDk

That was quick! They've changed the introduction to explain that the article was written by me, and taken from my blog (with a link) Plus, I get a few free games (Anybody got any recommendations? I already own The Last Express and Psychonauts.) Nice to see them deal with this so quickly, I was expecting to be ignored. Hurrah.

I saw a demo on this last Friday and, yeah, it's pretty nifty. But to be honest I can't see how it would improve a game in any way, and I'd probably just turn it off after a while. Clever tech though.

Yes Emails have been dispatched. I'll see what they say.

The movie thread isn't good enough for ya? It's not a great name, but what about things like "Phonebooth"?
-
Huh. I did not know that. Well they emailed me asking for permission to use the guide on their site, in return for some "compensation". I said, "ok", but then they dragged their feet, so I left it. I think the original idea was to host these guides for their old games. (A pretty dumb idea, if you ask me, as they would only get inundated with complaints if one of the patch authors accidentally fucked something up -- presumably they realised this and went with a link?) Edit: Well fuck me. They just went and did without telling me or making good on the compensation they promised. Nice. http://www.gog.com/en/news/mod_spotlight_planescape_torment_mods_guide/

Battlestar Galactica (BSG) and spinoffs
ThunderPeel2001 replied to Marek's topic in Movies & Television
Damn. They just read out my blog, word-for-word. It's really strange to watch people reading out loud something I've written. I wonder if I'll see a spike in traffic? (Edit: Nope.) Also: That must explain this! Gog.com were going to do something with my Planescape: Torment guide, too. But I've not heard from them, so that might not be happening. Still, exciting!
