Well the original release date was the 19th. I honestly believe it'll be done by Sunday the 17th (note that the estimation keeps going down because of the "Potato multiplier" -- it's not a steady rate).
-
Holy crap. I think at this rate they'll make Sunday (Still looking for a partner in the 20% off deal on Steam, btw.)
-
True, but MetaCritic and GameRankings are terribly inaccurate when it comes to old games because they can only grab a few scores for them. (And a lot of the time they're blogs or whatever.) I wish there was some sort of database, even MobyGames doesn't have PC Gamer/PC Format/PC Zone scores.

Useful link for getting potatos and the like... http://valvearg.redpointsoftware.com.au/ Now 10% of the way to unlocking Portal 2 early! (Not that I've pre-ordered it or anything, but damn, they've sucked me in.)
-
Sweet. I was just doing my bit for the Portal 2 release (even though I currently don't have it pre-ordered) and loaded up AaAaA! They've added GladDOS quotes to the game. Nice touch! I imagine all the Potato Sack games with have this kind of tweak. Edit: Oh crap, they've added new levels and everything.

You've gone viral. Well done, Kingz Your work deserves it.

Sorry to get pedantic here, but the general feeling was definitely the other way around. Not that it's a big deal or anything, it's just that I vividly remember BS2 being praised as being better than the original. At least it was in the the magazines that I read at the time... [pedant] PC Gamer: BS1 got 87%, BS2 got 88%. PC Gaming World: "Broken Sword 2: Smoking Mirror is by far the best adventure Revolution - and indeed, Britain, has produced to date." Edge: BS1: 9/10, BS2: 9/10 Unfortunately I can't find what PC Zone or PC Format originally awarded the game, but I'm pretty certain it was the other way around again. (Kind of sad that all that work has been lost to the ages... Isn't there a magazine review database anywhere?) [/pedant]

Any Thumbs want to split the cost of Pre-Purchase Portal 2 - Two Pack? You save 20% off the cost of Portal on Steam and get Portal 1 for free (if you don't already own it). PM me if you're interested. I'll buy the double-pack. You PayPal me the money and I'll gift you Portal 2 and 1. (Or we can do it the other way around.)

Fucking genius. Just absolutely fucking genius. I thought the "Potato Sack" was the payment the indie developers were getting for being part of Portal 2's ARG... but this is just. Wow. Sure, you can be cynical about it, but it's just so damned clever, turning all that salivating, anticipation for Portal 2, all that energy, into support for indie devs. We've been played like a fiddle, but damn if I don't mind.

Same here. I've never heard anyone else suggest otherwise.

Every time I hear what you've been up to it makes me feel insanely jealous.

Hi! -
Hi-res graphics and superior music and audio quality, I think. Also, surely BS2 > BS1, right?
-
This doesn't even make sense to me... How do you turn 10 mosaics into a cube?
-
This is getting pretty exciting. I hope that a) They haven't just replaced Cake with Cheese and than It's not insanely twitch-based. Portal 1 was at its weakest (for me, Mr. Slowpoke) when things got too twitchy. Otherwise I'm getting more excited by the day!

They look like vector to me, I'd put good money on it. They're clearly not scans. I'd guess they took Gibbon's hand drawings, scanned them in, and then got someone to "tidy them up" by drawing over them in Illustrator. That's my guess (I wonder if we'll ever know?).

Loving these videos. Don't think this one has been linked to yet: AZMSAzZ76EU

Very nice stuff. Great site, too.
-
Surely you mean Illustrator?
-
Yep, you're most likely right. Also: What's going on with Secret Cinema? Can you make any of the dates I picked? Tickets are dwindling every minute, and the next one won't be for months.

I've not seen Idiocracy, but I've heard that the released version wasn't Mike Judge's cut. I don't know how true that is, though. (The rumour seemed to hint there was a subversive masterpiece locked away in a vault somewhere.) Also: http://www.brawndo.com/

I was going to say the same, but then I noticed: It's 4.99 Euros and DRM free... Why wait for GOG?
-
Not sure, last time it what Dave Gibbons. Pretty professional.

Not at all. The Shepherd's Tale is really the one worth reading, though. (The story is by Joss Whedon and it's written by his (surprisingly talented) brother Zack.) The other two comics were written by one of the writers of the original show, and were all based on stories by Joss. They're not cheap knock-offs and can be considered "canon". (Geek? Moi?) The one exception is the one-shot written by Patton Oswald, set after Serenity. There was no Joss Whedon involvement that time, I don't think.
