Wow. I'd pay money to be able to walk around on an accurate representation of The Titanic. I wonder if James Cameron has seen this yet?

I just noticed Gemini Rue -- is it taken?

I've been playing this little freeware gem for a week or so now and I'm really loving it. (I think I saw it mentioned in the Best Game/Fave Game thread and decided to give it a whirl.) At first I was a bit underwhelmed, but it steadily grows on you thanks to its (somewhat) interesting story, great level design and well balanced mechanics. I heartily give it a wonderful thumbs up! Grab a gamepad, put it in Windowed Mode (using the setup) and enjoy awesome old skool pixel action: http://www.miraigamer.net/cavestory/downloads_4.php As an aside, I also recently learned that the entire game was written by one solitary Japanese bedroom coder... over a period of five years. Wow. You don't need to know that to appreciate the game, but it's rather impressive.

Nice to see this getting a release. I'd be interested to see what people think of the "HD" upgrades.

Yep. As I feared, now the hype has died down we have a game that should have a Metacritic score of about 65%. It's seriously flawed. Looking through MC it's sad to see that no major reviewing site gave it an appropriate score... Where's Amiga Power when you need it?

I feel like this is something I totally missed out on. The video reminds me of Aladdin on the Megadrive/Genesis. Is this series of games worth looking into? If so, where should I start? PS - This thread should be titled "Everyone Loves Rayman".

Great. First Steam, now my Cyber Brain might be hacked, too.

And people wonder how he became Governator of California.

Wow. That's nuts.

I just want a new PC, is that so much to ask?

That happened to a friend of mine. -

Yep. And make sure you get a 32GB harddrive, too. That's 32x32x32 which means you then have 32K system, which is twice as good as a Spectrum 16K... -
There's a new film I've seen advertised here in LA... George C Scott has my reaction to it. qKSAvNOIaNo

That's cool, Rodi, I'd like to see your stuff, too. What we worked on is not really "mine" as it was room written. There's plenty of things I dislike about what we produced. Also, I can't share the script because it would reveal secrets about the weekend. It was a great experience, though.

Yes, it was quite a lot of money, but I happened to have it and decided to buy myself a present A once in a lifetime kind of a deal. Very glad I did! Exhausting, though.

The simple answer is that I attended this http://sitcomroom.com/

I spent the weekend in a Los Angeles hotel suite trying to improve a sitcom script with four strangers. It was an awesome weekend! And then I met Jane Espenson... (head explodes)

They do, because it is!

Cool. About time the B&D games where included in something like this. Not sure I like their system compared to the Humble one, though. Still, hopefully it'll generate some much deserved cash for the developers.

Yes. Yes, it would. I'm currently reading the first book, and I take heart in the fact that there's only 8 "perspectives"... but his tendency to have to set up a whole new scenario at the beginning of each chapter is getting a bit tiresome.

Having just flown 12 hours to LA, I can say that Premium Economy, if you can afford it, is where it's at.

Indeed, here's one my favourite quotes from AdventureGamers: Grim Fandango: "The one part of the game that did not work for me was the soundtrack. There are points where I felt the music perfectly fit the action going on in the game, but mostly I found it too heavy and not well suited to the game’s theme. The sort of '20s era jazz used in the first part of Manny’s journey fails to create much ambience or atmosphere, often proving distracting and bothersome." Yes, the music of Grim Fandango is the worst thing about that game. It fails to create any atmosphere and totally doesn't suit the game. Right.

Also, nice idea for a thread. I've been wanting to start something similar myself, but I wasn't sure how it would sit with everyone. Also, also: My lawyers will be in touch regarding the thread title.

Yeah! The Shivah Emerald City Confidential The 3 Blackwell Games Ben There, Dan That/Time Gentlemen Please Gemini Rue Sam & Max Tales of Monkey Island all the other TellTale stuff There's tons of great point and click stuff out there... but I would never trust AdventureGamers to point me to it.

Yeah, that's an excellent deal!
