Considering that the last online activity is logged as almost a year ago, I wouldn't hold your breath. :~

This is why I generalize MMORPG players as weirdos.

That's a given, really.

I think anybody who's been expecting Psychonauts to completely revolutionize or even significantly impact the platforming side of platform games has been sitting on the wall to be honest. Whilst there's no doubts that it'll have a stable platforming element, and this has been confirmed by a number of people who have played it, it's not exactly going to be the next Mario 64 in that it'll completely change how things play from now on. What it may do, however, is encourage both developers and publishers to invest more time in the character, universe and storyline development in platform games, and possibly other genres. Whilst it is done to an extent, not many truly focus on it and integrate into the experience as strongly as they could do. I really hope that Psychonauts succeeds on that front, and it's not just Double Fine who make these types of games in the future.

Hee, yes I heard about that Chris. It's pretty rad. Scott doesn't have to worry, since even if he doesn't like the new design, there'll be an option to switch back to the older one implemented a few days after it goes up anyway. All the redone CSS and PHP allows for high-tech wonders like that, you see. Soon it'll be interfacing with your DVD drive to serve you drinks as you browse the site. I know that quite a lot of people like the current one though, so I don't want to go alienating anyone with one that they don't like (which is guaranteed to be some of you, statistically). That'd be really mean, wouldn't it? Especially when that person is Scott Campbell.

It's probably a reference to you seeing that Spongebob game as the "Recommended if you like this title" game on GameSpot.

At least you don't dream about psychotic women stabbing your shins to pieces whilst glued in a seating position to your house's stairs. If there's some kind of hidden message relating to my current state of mind in that dream, then I'm missing it.

It was recommended to me that I download this short movie. I wasn't expecting much, but I was very surprised at its quality. Whilst the modelling isn't of the highest standard at times (though it's usually excellent), the direction and storyline of this very short movie are both very touching. I can't really explain why, it's just nice to watch. Anyway, if you haven't seen it before, go here to check it out. It's eight minutes long, and is well worth the download.

I guess that's been what's happening to my newsletters too, Moos. Despite being subscribed, I haven't been receiving them, so I'm assuming that Jolt have some kind of anti-spam system set up which has been intercepting them without my knowledge. >: Also for system specs, http://www.razputin.net/?page=specs

Tim really is the must amusing developer type to listen to outside of his games ever. I don't think I've ever read anything by him, in any circumstance, that I haven't found at least mildly amusing.

From what I gather, this trailer was shown at GDC. There's really no point in describing it, since you can just watch it for yourselves here. I'm loving the return to Ocarina style graphics, and the music is a lot more epic and impressive than usual too. The gameplay will probably be more of the same, but that's not really a huge concern of mine. Was that a Goron I saw 37 seconds in?

http://www.sirlin.net/Features/feature_platformsecrets.htm The same site has a bunch of other articles looking at older platform games too. They're really entertaing. It's so true too, that DK coin was both a masterpiece and a bastard in one. It's pretty old and such, but it seems like a fairly little known site to me without one of the better designd around, and it wouldn't surprise me if most people have never come across it and read its fruits before.

I'm fairly sure it isn't. It's hosted on an official uni website, the guys have a shitload of qualifications and such listed, and you can even download the source and try it out for yourself -- which somebody I know has done, although he couldn't get it quite as realistic as they. :~

You'd think that people who preordered before the deal went live would receive the goodies too, but don't hold your breath. I guess the easiest way to find out would be ask somebody who has preordered a bonus-ridden product from ebgames before. On a side note, GameStop are giving out Psychonauts t-shirts with their preorders now.

We're talking about World of Warcraft here. That game is completely centred around the sole premise of boring, repetitive gameplay. Oh-ho!

Online gamers that irritate me: - Those on your team that shoot the floor surrounding you, as if they'd just watched your generic "Dance!" scene in a movie. - Those that completely ignore the game's objective and just sit somewhere waiting for kills. - Those that have names which don't read in plain English. - Those that have seventy clan/guild/alliance/association tags attached to their name. - Those that make a comment every time they kill you. The most annoying of which being ":)". - Those that stand in a doorway for a few seconds as if they were going to be lame enough to block it, but then move. - Those that leave halfway through a 1v1 game of some sort (primarily Worms) simply because they're playing shite. - Those that use the server's ranking feature every two minutes, which involves saying "statsme" or something along those lines. - Those that act upon every single moron stereotype condition in circulation, ranging from l33t sp34k, to calling me a nigger when I kill them. - Mort.

PCGUK is fairly amusing, but the articles really aren't that generally interesting to read. Whilst Edge can even make an article subject that I have roughly no interest in an amusing read, PCGUK just.. can't.
