If you mean the radial motion blur, that's not exactly a GTA exclusive way of conveying high speed, and it generally works very well (even if it looks odd in screenshots). ¬¬

I'd be interested to know what causes flies! As for the berries, I think they just have the clicky icon because they're set as buttons in Flash for the mouseover animation -- it does that, you see.

MINERVA. There's not much to say, but if your copy of Half-Life 2 is growing stale, you'll probably want to try this out. As far as modifications go, it's as professionally produced as you're going to get. Is it me or has the HL2 modding scene been really barren thus far? Other than remakes, there's not been anywhere near the innovative and interesting mods that HL1 had, though I guess it could be considered early days yet.

Holy crap. What a page.

Even though I played all sorts of crazy children's Atari games that my dad unleashed upon me during my earliest years, it wasn't until I experienced the Dizzy games that I really took an interest in gaming which still goes on to this day. I forget which one exactly it was that got me going, possibly Treasure Island Dizzy. This puzzle-type style of gameplay took me into classics such as Monkey Island and all that business, and the rest is history. My God, what a game.

This type of technology desperately wants integrating into software such as 3D Studio Max. Imagine being able to scuplt 3D characters and objects as if they were physical objects, rather than endlessly creating and tweaking individual vertices/planes for hours on end. I mean, seriously. It'd be one of the most important and significant advances in anything ever.
