I think I saw stories on Kotaku and Destructoid, etc last week. I knew about it last week anyway, and I never read Game Politics.

It's pretty crazy how we all know how fucking annoyed we'd be if our data were lost, yet so many of us fail to keep a proper backup routine. I'm just as guilty, despite having also suffered a catastrophic data loss several years ago. I know countless other people who're just as stupid, too. There's nothing like that feeling when it dawns on you that your hard drive isn't working, it's making weird noises, and all that data is completely gone. Just imagine waking up tomorrow and it being as if some cunt had stolen your hard drive overnight. I should start making use of Vista's backup shit, which does seem really good (and entirely comparable to OS X's Time Machine if you're familiar with that). Using that on at least one additional hard drive is probably a good idea. Just need a fire-proof external hard drive then, I guess.

Yeah, to them he's just another lawyer who's gone too far. There're loads of them — it's not like there're only a few lawyers in a state.

Hee, I also love Brucie. The helicopter rides with him seem mental as fuck just because of all his talk. BTW, I've unlocked the second part of the city and have access to the following people: Anyone able to tell me roughly how far through I am? ;

Yeah, looks like the shit is hitting the fan, review-wise. Seems to be getting universally slated, and MetaCritic tells a fairly telling story: http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps3/haze?q=haze Like or hate scores, not even a single green and an assortment of reds isn't good.

The trailer is just frankly embarrassing to watch.

I noticed I wasn't learning the map at all because I was constantly using the GPS (being able to add waypoints is great). I've tried to force myself to rely on it less though, and now I'm using my own guidance I'm starting to grasp the layout better based on landmarks. Maybe some of you have the same problem.

Oh, man! Maybe I won't perpetually look like a total dick to all the Google browsers who keep finding this.

Yeah, Armageddon basically remains the pinnacle of the series so far in my book. World Party was obviously pretty much a clone, the 3D ones were TOSH, and the newer 2D ones are graphically amazing but quite bare gameplay-wise.

It was the last one you played?

Haven't there been like 20 sequels now?

Good fucking lord, it's been two years since this fake rumour?

I figured it was massive exaggeration on their part (of the frequency of it if nothing else). The review is generally pretty amusing at least. Gotta love that first screenshot. ;

Hahaha: http://www.sonydefenseforce.com/?p=404#more-404 Is all that about the pop-in true (I haven't played the game yet) or is it just the total bash-fest it seems to be?

Heh! Look at what one of the 'Addiction Level' statistics is:

I know we all realise scores don't mean everything here, but damn. Clearly not bad, then. I'm kind of taken aback by how graphic the hooker sex scenes are in this game. I mean, jeeze — it goes far beyond 'Hot Coffee', with everything from a basic wank-off in the car to her getting her legs over him and going the full hog. How has this gotten an M rating instead of San Andreas' AO, which had an uncut sex scene consisting of nothing more than two clothed low-polygon models rubbing together?

Heh. :~ Always sad to see industry jobs lost en masse. It could be you!

I think that's more you injecting your own thoughts into his words. It seemed like a fairly clear "All marketers suck!" comment with little room for misinterpretation to me. ; His subsequent post did of course clear up his intentions, though.

I was under the impression a good few Idle Thumbs guys are involved in PR/marketing/sales. I know some perfectly good people in those types of roles, too.

You're not the only one who doesn't like it.

Get one from Amazon and you shouldn't get ripped off much. There's pretty much no difference between the majority of them (other than the really cheap, which have shit build quality) as it's a digital signal that has to adhere to certain quality/distance/etc standards to qualify as officially HDMI.

Hee, I really liked Earthworm Jim — but had completely forgotten about him! A really awesome game could potentially come out of it if the universe is used well, and the storyline not skimped on.

I'd like to admit to owning a 360, but unfortunately it's in for its 3rd set of warranty repairs. My PSN ID is RyanJW.

My favourite games magazine Edge posted about a weird Japanese game, based on Super Mario Bros but has an almost endless assortment of ingenious ways of making you die. Having just spent 30 fucking lives getting through the first level, I'd be inclined to agree that the sheer number of ways you can die is inspiring. After a while I was just laughing at how ridiculous they were, as it's almost a complete mockery of the conventions you expect from a platform game — and especially Mario! Well worth giving a go: http://www.geocities.jp/z_gundam_tanosii/home/Main.html (click second link) It doesn't require installation, but you do need to download it. ThrikCheck™ gives it the A-OK! If you can complete the first level in less than 30 lives you're a better gamer than me. PS: I've no idea how old this is, but I've never seen it so clearly lots of other people haven't either.

The cinematic quality is excellent as usual, but the Scout generally pisses me off and always has so I found it hard to warm to the video in the same way I have the others. I actually felt sorry for the poor Heavy — possibly the intention! Valve clearly tried to make him the most unlikeable cunt in the game, which I'd say they did a remarkably good job of.
