  1. Blue Shift: postcards from Barney

I found that highly refreshing in a first person shooter. A quality break from all that running and shooting.
  2. New Half-Life 2 screenshots

But that's not really surprising, considering that statistically there doesn't seem to be a considerable number of women in the science and research fields, or even in the armed forces. That combined with the game industy's misogynistic and infantile view of women. But look closely, it's not all men. The holographic instructor in Half-Life's training session is a woman, the black ops level seems specifically designed exclusively with female ninjas in mind, and there is actually a video surveillance shot of a woman pushing a cart of anomalous materials in Blue Shift. That said, don't forget Alex, a prominent female lead in Half-Life 2!
  3. Blue Shift: postcards from Barney

BTW, Kingzlebub, did you also get stuck later in the game trying to figure out how to get to that battery pack to recharge it? That was a bitch, I can't believe I got stuck again last night. [looks at self in mirror] Dumbass Bitch.
  4. Blue Shift: postcards from Barney

Those headcrabs were bitches. I swear, they were even more a-holey in Blue Shift. I still want one as a pet, though. If only to terrorize the megaphone speaking P.O.G.s* on every other street corner. * Pimps Of God
  5. OK, WTF?! Andy Kaufmann is back!

    My pleasure. Trep Kingzstud

    Not to Kingz.
  7. What's next for the GTA series?

Yeah, and you have the option of buying property. Turn a townhouse into a brothel with you as the Madame. Heh heh, and the political elite (like Mayor and his cronies) would be regular customers, and you can establish a gang of carjacking Super Ho's who'll cut up the customers who refuse to pay.
  8. What's next for the GTA series?

Ah, like one of those I usually pass by on my way to the train here in Uptown. They're everywhere, and they're usually nice. There's one who always, always sits at the exact same place at that bar Big Chick's up in Edgewater (five blocks north of where I live). I love her, her name's Elizabeth iirc. One time I had the pleasure of sitting down with her and discussing our political views. To visualize what she looks like, think Don King in a dress. Thus I nicknamed her Donatella King. She's always at the same spot at the bar, nursing a mug of Budweiser. Don't even think of stealing her seat, it'll piss her off and the bartenders'll glare at you. I think when she dies they should put a bronze plaque by where she used to sit.
  9. The greatest debate of all...

If it's a joystick, we presume it is connected to a console, therefore hooked up to a t.v. screen, which prompts the inevitably profound question: When is his pizza delivery coming?
  10. GTA3 sucks (or so evil tongues say)

Silent Hill 3. Well, arguably, of course. At least it's an original soundtrack, exclusive to the game.
  11. What's next for the GTA series?

I'm curious. I wonder if there will be playable female character soon. A ho' with a grudge, say.
  12. GTA3 sucks (or so evil tongues say)

I agree. GTA3 is one of the few action titles where the violence, save for the assassination missions, is entirely optional.* It's there for the taking, yes. But, who decides to take it or leave it? You, the player. This argument can keep going around in circles for all I care. We can even bring up the ancient Romans who, when not creating great governmental systems, superb plumbing, and societal models, staged and watched spectacularly gory and deadly sword battles between gladiators or fed heretically religious followers to the lions and ate dinner as they watched. * QuakeIII is far more disturbing its conception of graphic killing as the only means necessary to earn points.
  13. GTA3 sucks (or so evil tongues say)

Despite its obvious encouragement of violence, I actually do go out of my way to avoid it. That is, with the exception of the assassinatoin missions I'm given, and even then my targets have themselves been responsible for bloodshed. Not that that argument has any validity term of ethics. Whatever. Funny how a mere computer game can still be subject to one's moralistic stance. EDIT: Oh my god, that is one strategically shaved pussy.

Kingz, that editorial endeared you that much more to me, so: Fuck you!

    Slightly blurry your avatar is.
  16. E3 Boothbabes? WTF?

Now why would she want to harm her own pussy?
  17. New Half-Life 2 screenshots

LOL, well they probably were actual, bona fide stories compared to the original Doom, if anything.
  18. Aliens invade Mexico

The other day the cafe at my work didn't have the coffee ready for me yet that morning, so I gave the sky the finger.

It looks like a 50 ft. giraffe threw up during a party.
  20. Hurting my chance for an interview

  21. GTA3 aficionados, listen up: NPR Yakuza story

Intriguing. And rather sad. Is There Life After Yakuza?
  22. GTA3 aficionados, listen up: NPR Yakuza story

Chicago's NPR is excellent, imo. I mean, Odyssey is broadcast from here. I practically never listen to radio anymore these days, but I'll always listen to NPR locally.
  23. New Half-Life 2 screenshots

Evidently that's the case. iD had strangely decided to give Doom3 some kind of 'gripping, emotionally suspenseful' edge, and so they did add Matt Costello to the staff to write the story (whether that was Carmack's idea is debatable, I hardly think he's ever been the type to actually care about anything but graphics for a game). We've no idea how prevalent this will be in the end, as all the media, and iD for that matter, have been pimping to us to death is the graphics. Also, blame yourselves as graphics slutty gamers as well. [shrug] Me personally, I find Fahrenheit to be far, far more progressive than Doom3 in terms of the overal experience. But we'll see once both titles are out.
  24. Scary!

I never even clicked that link. I mean, I do want sleep well tonight.
