  1. PC or Console?

    Then buy a console instead.
  2. Good news for poor ppl....not me....ok me

    Glad to hear it.
  3. PC or Console?

Nothing to do with me, but I thought I'd mention it in passing for others who might look that way.
  4. I'm just glad you and your family are all right. Go have some hot tea and check on your mum, sounds like she needs a good bit of comforting.
  5. PC or Console?

You forget, Jayel, that you're also using the PC for: doing homework, paying bills, downloading pr0n, emailing, chatting with friends, downloading pr0n, photoshopping, buying new games online, downloading pr0n, researching, hanging out in Idle Thumbs forums, downloading pr0n, getting game demos, checking your bank balance, downloading pr0n, ripping music cds, making MP3s, downloading pr0n, watching DVD movies, and downloading pr0n.
  6. Clusterfuck!

Heh, well I am not the one lamenting the loss of files because of "....the small reasons why I still do it". Do as you will, my cutie. Your [files'] funeral. So, right back at ya!
  7. Clusterfuck!

Your presence here, Kingzelbub, is more than enough punishment for him. I prefer Mongolian beef. Easier to stomach, and it's good with Tsing Tsao beer.

No you didn't, Walter. So what if Rusalka ended up wanting you, you can't have her. Remember, you got yourself castrated. You lost. LOST!! Muaahahahahaha!!!
  9. Clusterfuck!

What 'Erkks' me (heh heh) is why would you screw around with the folders in the first place. What's wrong with using the default directories when installing a game, and then moving the save games to a specially created folder when you uninstall a game? It's a bit more work but it does prevent such catastrophe as you have described. And many recent games ask you to save the save games when you uninstall. If this were the AG forums I'd give you a good panning.
  10. Good news for poor ppl....not me....ok me

Excuse me, but I was not the one who lapsed into discussions about life in Ireland and clueless rich farmers.
  11. PC or Console?

The poll is waaaaaaaay too binary for my taste, so I didn't vote. That said, here are the logistics a la Trep. In my current situation - moving in with my fabulous sister - I have the best of both worlds: my PC, her PC, and the family Xbox. So then I can play more current PC games (HL2, Bloodlines, etc.) on her more powerful PC, recent games on my own PC, and console games on Xbox. The advantages for the PC are obvious, but unfortunaely I can't play online anymore because my dumb-ass brother-in-law installed satellite Internet, with its bandwith cap , yet at least I have the option of playing single player PC titles anyway. The biggest advantage of the Xbox is that I can play games with my niece and little nephew (I currently have a deal with him that if he unlocks and beats all the tracks in Project Gotham Racing I'll reward him with a Speed Racer DVD set). But so far I have no intense interest in the games they now have - Pirates of the Caribbean, Midtown Madness 3, Fellowship of the Ring, Spyhunter 2....they're all boring to me. I'm gonna get Fable and maybe another game. In any case, console gaming is far more conducive socially. Ideally I'd love to be able to afford a laptop, for my writing, gaming, and Internet research, but that's a few years down the road. Hopefully by then the technology will have reached the point where laptops can finally have upgradeable parts like a PC. That would be the ultimate sweet spot.

What's with all the profanity all of a sudden?!!
  13. Good news for poor ppl....not me....ok me

And naked leprechauns run around and it rains Barry Manilow records and all the boys look like reformed child molesters and....and....
  14. The official How Would You Seduce Yufster? thread!

Although with AG it's more a matter of beating a topic to death. 2D vs. 3D, anyone?
  15. The Marine has been chosen, here we go...

Hmmm. Still looks unconvincing. But let's wait for Chris to walk by.
  16. I've become a demo whore

Show us the money. In other words.....
  17. The Marine has been chosen, here we go...

Chris wouldn't know. That is, unless you make Karl Urban dress up to look like an Atari 2600 console and make Chris want to ........
  18. The official How Would You Seduce Yufster? thread!

Do you find my ambiguity alluring, my dear? [recalls that scene in Kill Bill Vol. 1 just before Uma wakes up] No lube? That's disgusting.
  19. The Marine has been chosen, here we go...

Hmmm, he's kinda cute. I dunno if I'd do him. What do you think, Yuf Yuf, does he look like he'd have technique?
  20. Games associated with other memories?

    Comment on necrophilia, evidently.
  21. The Marine has been chosen, here we go...

Yeah, I read this just earlier. Whatever. Another lame game-to-movie attempt. [shrugs]

Jealous, are we? Yes. Trep, the token homosexual of Idle Thumbs! Irony rocks.
  23. Games associated with other memories?

The most recent piquant remembrance I had was playing Syberia during that period of depression I went through last year in the fall. I was in lamentation about my not having a life (city, apartment, good job, friends around me), getting sick, and feeling isolated in the rural suburbs. The story in Syberia touched me in a way that nudged me back up from the dumps, and inspired me to re-appreciate what I had with me instead of pining for what I had in the past. Felt like a longtime friend whose shoulder I could cry on, who tells me to let myself into pain and feeling the groundlessness because it's through all these that I'll transcend it all and be good in the aftermath. In fact, Syberia affected me so much that I wrote an essay about how it helped me, as a way of documenting it. I then wrote that analysis of the game's symbolism of death and rebirth, and felt I had to share it with everyone. I saw things in the game's story that held powerful affirmations for me. This is a strong case where a Video game is absolutely nothing to be scoffed at and dismissed, if it inspires someone, anyone, then it should never be disrespected and sniffed at.
  24. Happy Birthday Chris

    That was lame, Ruse.
  25. Happy Birthday Chris

    I don't think he'd mind if option 'd)' happened.
