Sorry, I'm not nerd enough to remember the correct spelling of a polygonal character's name. -

Can't I just buy the stupid DVD version? Without the damn t-shirt and naked pictures of Jake Alex? -
You can't understand it until you're deep in it, Jayel. You'll either fall in love with it or dislike it or ultimately be indifferent. In any case, you might want to keep in check how the game is designed from a core narrative to spiral outwards. A pivotal point is how the player can be 'lured' away from the usual technicalities ("Wow, those graphics are teh win!") and lose himself in the gameworld, its atmosphere, and its characters' fragilities.

Honesty? Honesty?! But.....you're a PC salesperson! -
You'd be amazed at how many people actually attempt this in real life. I've seen them in action. Bless them.

What?!! You let that roguish little muffin get to you? Man, you need some serious counseling....and balls. I stood up to her, even made her want me. I could be of help. If I'm in the mood, that is. But alas, I have moved beyond mere muffins and found my lighthouse in Oregon.* * to wormsie. -

Well, sorry. Most of us poor Americans are too culturally stupid and deprived to understand the beauty (and de Chirico-an reference) of the European ICO box art. Sad indeed. -

My wagon is sexier. And it vibrates. And Swordmaster likes to ride on it. -

What are you talking about? I started this bandwagon over at AG with Half-Life 2 several months ago. And no, it's not a fashion trend, either, it's a good way to prevent what happened with games like Fable. You should go see its official forum, my god the ugliness that's going on there right now is hilarious. Both Mr. Molly Knew's fault and his fanbois' and so on. And if Tim Schafer is god then so am I, and you, and the next person. -
Let's just hope Majesco can market it very well - not by games industry standards (which are pathetic), but by high quality marketing standards in general.

Fable: The Official Hero Progress Report Thread
Intrepid Homoludens replied to Intrepid Homoludens's topic in Video Gaming
Latest news from the front: Hero renown name: Liberator. Cripeys, these 'pre-fab' names are boring. General world progress: Over 45 hours in (that long 'cause I love to run around the gameworld and kill stuff and get stuff); Liberator 'played around' with the white balverine; survived and championed the Arena but spared Whisper her life; rescued pivotal character from the Prison; footraced in nothing but skivvies (heh); kicked rival hero's ass and ended up marrying the Mayor of Bowerstone, but still trying to figure out how to murder her, Liberator thinks she's evil and doesn't like her; finally married that schoolteacher in Bowerstone South...he's such an incredibly sweet and humble spouse, Liberator's tenderly in love with him (always lavishes him with gifts after coming back from quests and exploring, then having a few wonderful 'lying downs' ). Behaviour: No more farting and very little sneering now. He still finds time to visit the schookids in Bowerstone. He deeply loves his husband, the former schoolteacher. Stops and says hi to everyone. Will get drunk and throw up occassionally, especially after completing the big quests. Class: Legendary Spellwarrior. Skills status progress: Liberator has maxed out his strength, etc., as well as Assassin Rush and Slow Time. These combined, he is nearly invincible, speed fused with sheer physical force. His main weapon now is the Katana Hiryo (found in Lady Grey's bedroom), with the brilliant Harbinger sword (pulled from the rock at the temple of Alvo by maxing out strength skills) a close second. Alignment: Good. Liberator's halo is pronounced and he's followed by 3 ghostly yet annoying butterflies. He's a protector of travellers and stays true to his hubby (though he's inevitably also married to Lady Grey, hopefully soon to become her widower). Appearance: At 62 years old, he looks weathered (battle scars and faint traces of tattoos long since removed) but supremely formidable and still youthful, what all younger inexperienced men dream of achieving. The Samruno Tattoo on his face and head, and the Vambrace Tattoo on his arms indicate an advanced stage of championship. He has the Buzz cut and is clean shaven. At the moment he's in the bright spellcaster's suit (found beyond the demon door at Rose Cottage), but will don the plate torso (a gift from schoolteacher hubby) and chainmail pants for very heavy battles. Overall he looks very powerful and invincible, but those baby blue eyes belie the sweetest heart. -
My dear, if you wanted attention why didn't you just ask kindly? That or rip your shirt off and dance topless on the table.

Erk, you gonna paint it bone white, right? Do you have dark blue pinstripe suit to go with? That or a white dinner jacket outfit.
