  1. I had a dream...

What would be the point? It isn't an action-adventure game, is it ? Anyway, what has the act of jumping brought to our societies ? Oh, yeah, of course, you could jump on a mine and look cool, you could, also, jump and try to catch the sky and you'd look pathetic , you could even jump just for he joy of jumping. But that, Mister, that, would be childish. And what has children brought to our societies ? Let's be honest : children aren't people like us. First, they don't like to work; they also laught for nothing and they never , ever talk about the Dow Jones. Let's face it, children are a little bit childish. So, where was I before I got stopped by the most extraodinary person I've ever met, me. Ah, yes, jumps. I kind of laught when I first read your post as I imagined Jedis' Battles in which each protagonist would jump to avoid thrown lightsaber then press 'space' to stop the action and trigger a Dark Side power. I guess that would be awesome for 5 minutes, before you realize that you ain't a cool jedi nomore but a grotesque dressed frog which has mistaken KotoR for Daggerfall in which, for the record, you could increase your 'jump' stat by jumping through town instead of walking. And for your nail clippers, that's a real shame.
  2. Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash

I'm waiting for Freddy vs Jason vs Ash vs Flubber.
  3. So, it seems that there has been a urban war[aka 'internal dispute'] going on over the past two months at Illusion Softworks opposing the dev team working on the sequel to the classy GTA like set in the '20s and the guys realizing another Hidden & Dangerous. Needless to say, the marine-fans from the second team had a technological advantage and they recently captured the main programmer Daniel Vavra, causing the geniouses behind Mafia 2 to surrender. Petr Vochozka, founder of Illusion Softworks, has declared, while being beaten by the guys that got him Source : GamersHell
  4. Gameboy DS - Nintendo goes retro

Gosh, I remembered I had bought one of these (the Zelda one) when I was a kid... I tried to find it, but I guess it was lost/broken/stolen/bold by my older brother. It really made me sad.. I really wonder why...
  5. Sid Meyer's Pirates! trailer and stuff

I was too young to play the first one but THIS might be the game I've been waiting for since the announcement of MI4 and the disappointments of The Elder Scrolls Adventure: Redguard and Sea Dogs. And the trailer, despite the stupid name, made me feel the Adventure with a Capital A.
  6. D'Artagan ¬¬

Same question as above. Anyway, I wonder if something interest me more in game creation than following the evolution of the design through concept arts... here, the main graphic chart seems to be long arms and distorted eyes. What impressed me the most is that Tim has truly gathered a bunch of exceptionnal artists and made them work in the same direction... I hope the final graphics will honor their works cause there are still a few shitty textures in the most screenshots.
  7. BG&E Soundtrack

Thanks for the link! This soundtrack is really good but the action cues don't work well outside of the game, I mean not as well as I thought and as I hoped. And I'm convinced that some cues ( the End Credits for example) aren't included. Anyway, there is a great remix of BGE soundtrack here. It is really worth the listening. Another great soundtrack that no one has talked about is the Arcanum Soundtrack. Composed by Ben Houge for a String Quartet, it is a highly enjoyable - yet sad - music; the diversity of the themes is really amazing. I got it from a french magazine but I think you can still downoad it somewhere.
  8. Assorted movies and trailers

Both of these technologies (driven AI dialog and text-to-voice software) exists and are more or less useable in games.. but it would cost a lot (in time or money) to implement them and the difference in the gameplay as it is now, wouldn't be so spectacular... except maybe for the 'all spoken dialogs" thing that would make the whole game more lively.
  9. Assorted movies and trailers

You got my point. It sure seemed a looooong year.
  10. lucaswhat?

Okay, back to LucasArts now. PLEASE ? Geez, how could they cancel Loom 2 ? How is it possible that 6 months after the events fans are still bitching about SM2 cancellation ? How can Barney be so popular and at the same time totally unknown to me? These are three very deep mysteries to me.
  11. Horsey!!

I wonder if anyone knows Barney outta here ?... OKay, I got to admit, I don't know who the hell Barney is and that confuse me a lot. Bring back the mighty Green Thumb!
  12. lucaswhat?

Geez, that's quite an unfair remark.
  13. Horsey!!

It looks like a thumb to me.
  14. Spy Fiction

It's definitely the best trailer I've ever seen. I mean, what kind of publisher has the guts to release a teaser that shoots at games that compete in the same genre and build a finale from 4 images of the actual game which made me want to play it right now. And the voice for Fisher is excellent.
  15. Tintin

Should I know you ? More serioulsy , if I offenced you, I apologize. This was an ironic remark, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I should improve my sense of textual irony. Anyway, you suck. *Hang an IRONY Flag*
  16. lucaswhat?

Okay... Let's pretend this never happens. If you tell someone, I 'll kill you. And your family. And If I'm in the mood, I'll also kill your dog so that it won't be lonely. Beware. Anyway.. hurrah for Stormtroopers!
  17. Tintin

So cute.... and at the same time, so stupid.
  18. Tintin

Nah, these guys ain't gay. Spirou lives with Fantasio out of pity or maybe even friendship. In the last few albums, Spirou falls in love with the daughter of New York Mafia Godfather and in another runs away from a clone facility with the journalist girl that messed with him regurlarly. And fantasio, well, he kept on hoping that someday his day will raise... he mainly counts on a confusing situations to get a girl, I suppose.
  19. lucaswhat?

Why, WHY, don't events like Comic con, E3 or even ECTS exist in France? Why god, why don't you allow me to hug these gorgeous Stormtroopers?!
  20. Tintin

The most mysterious fact about Tintin is that he never seems to drink or takes drugs despite the fact that his most valuable companions are an alcoholic sailor, a deaf scientist and a speaking dog. Yeah and the artcole submitted earlier is wrong : tintin does write an article in "Tintin chez les Soviets" but we don't knwo how the hell he sent it to his newspaper.
  21. It's here : http://media2.xboxyde.com/dl_617d53ad17e71efe7d291d91486bc45b/videos/stranger_presentation_eurogamer.avi First, this video will poke your eye out. Litterally. Having said that, this Stranger could be a great game : the universe (crossover between oddworld and western mythology) is pretty well though, the graphics are quite cool, the NPC reactions are fun , and the developers seem to have created a coherent whole. And also, firing little rodents is one of my like child dream that has become true. Also, te main idea of the gameplay (merging FPS and Action/adventure) is a good one that opens wide perspective and I'm really happy to see an innovative game which is mainly fun.
  22. Oddworld Stranger - First Video

Yeah. Sorry. you can throw this post to the void of the net.
  23. Get those extra proteins: It's Unza Unza Time

The No Smoking Orchestra and Goran Bregovic are two god entities un my life. I can't stand a day without listening once to the Dejo Dance, Long Vehicule and the second half of Mesecina. Anyway, Kingzjester, Kusturica is the bassist in the No Smoking orchestra and his son is at the drums. God, I'm listening to Kalasnikov and it rocks.
  24. Jaws: The game

Can someone explain me the relation between the game and the original movie ? It's a crazy idea, that could work.. but hell, why did they buy this francchise ?
