SoccerDude28, don't play dumb : what I meant is that teenagers eager to be cool are Sony's primary target and that it indeed represents a big part of their consumers (or at least that's what I think) ... that doesn't make you one.

In France and since its announcement, this game has a huge hype surrounding it from the FPS gamers and RPG gamer equally... that's rare.

Abe from the Oddworld serie.

You know what, I think that despite the huge technological and ludical (does that word even exist?)letdown that is the PS3, the console will be a huge success and Nintendo, while still having the most profitable console on the market, won't conquer the market it once dominated. Why? Because, PS3 is mainly targetting the bottomless pool of teenagers/young adults eager to be cool, you know , the ones gullible enough to buy the crap the Sony marketing machine produces everyday. I know that once, I did and lots of my pals too. On the other hand, Nintendo is adressing what used to be the mainstream market and is now a niche : the executives say " Look, our console is actually FUN, you might be a little ridiculous at times but hey, there's no way you're going to find something as fun as this"... and that's fine, but most customers are receptive to this" Eyh, guy, our console is cool and it will make you look cool". And that is the main line of Sony; it has successfully been that way for a while(since the PS2) and their products gained momentum from that whereas Nintendo have to fought to be in the heart in gamers Don't get me wrong, I'd to see gamers prove me wrong, but I think we're doomed to see this gen dominated by Sony.

Erm... hu, what's SO special about that teaser. I mean, it's good but frankly it's not better than he lucasarts one.And the release date is depressing

Wooo, what a very good trailer... http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=10569&type=mov .. I wouldn't want to over-analyse this , but doesn't Ancel seem to get back at the movie/game industry in this one? He's busting tons of cliches, that's for sure.

Yep, went too fast here... but you get my point, don't you?

Oh, I didn't notice the Connect 24 until now. Thanks to Connect 24, Nintendo is at your house anytime, entertaining your kid in your place, taking care of your business... just like that brother everybody has.. you know... the Big one.

Alright, alright, we all know what you're waiting for

Here are my 3 cents.... *clear throat* Having worked on a VR lightsaber game demo using a device I suspect to be similar to the stuff in the wiimote, I can say it IS very simple to manipulate a sword when you have one in your hand and to aim at stuff... it just feels intuitiv and it is A LOT of fun. The thing is that you don't need any type of GUI or tutorial to play... but a player couldn't handle anything else because it requires all his/her attention, i.e. it woudn't work with Oblivion or complex gameplay.

This game is like Duke Nukem Forever. Except it's promising. I wonder how many years it's been in development and if it is still coming to the PS2...

Now... you don't want the "Game-life goes international" story to happen again, do you?

Same here, The great Cow Race was the perfect length for the Bone adventure... maybe they'll come up with a structure, a pace and a gameplay which would allow the game to be as enjoyable as longer ones. Who's the lead designer on this ?

I would put Mulder and Scully and make them discover The Cigarett Man is the reincarnation of Abel and Cain in the same body. Cries, gunshot without victims and complete destruction fo the sewer ensue. As for elmuerte comment, wouldn't the Doom III environments look exactly like this if it wasn't for the amazing machinery?

I think that those rejects are more or less reactions to the crappy "99%!!!!"or " Game of the Century' headlines lots of paper mags and websites were displaying around the release date... after that, I don't know, doesn't glorifying a game lots of people are bashing stand also as an elitist reaction ?
-
and then what ? if the recipe is successful who cares what the initial intentions were ?

Doesn't speaking smiley aren't just one of the signs of the upcoming apocalypse? Speaking disembodied heads - more, speaking toad disembodied heads -, for christ sake!

What's chapter three ? I remember having stopped just after entering the other world. Meanwhile, here in France not a single soul at the game shop knows what is the release date, sometimes that the game exists and more than often it is not even in their database... I wonder what those guys do during their hours.

I bought the damn game the same damn day I bought damn Another World. Now, on one hand, my proxy prevent me from activating Bones and on the other hand, I'm stuck in Another World just after escaping the prison level... a damn day, that's what it is!

It's really strange... I don't feel at all like you guys : for me, Half life had its moments but overall it felt like the storyline was more of a ride than a real scenario : It felt like I was pushed forward and around without begin able to be pro-activ in any of the situation encountered.

I know everything should be useful around there. A lot.

I really like the one with the Harlem Globe Trotters and the " Goldu Cookaru" shows screamed by the japanese guy.
