That could be the most frightening lapsus in History.

Dogs are, for the most part, an utterly retarded inbreed specie only kept by Man to make him feel like a God he isn't: you could kick a dog in the nuts, leave it chained to a road sign on the side of a highway for weeks and then come back; that it will still welcome you like you're the only person that exists in the world. While, cats, they just radiates with intelligence and grace. They go your way only to the extent that pleases them. Plus, you don't need to to walk them. Cat-kind >>>> Dog-kind

New low: kid expelled from school for creating a counter strike map

They already can : by pressing a button for 30 seconds over a x-marked spot in de_dust. Expert training, I tell you! -
Next Wedsneday, I'm having a two-in-one interview for either a position of "project leader assistant" or "game designer"... I don't know what to expect. I hope The Industry won't hurt me much.

Super-extra Sensorial Ears! Heh, a friend of mine had a female cat a bit like this and called it Lilith. For two years the cat was just completely crazy : freaked out by anything, jumping on the walls, attacking people in bed because it thought a beast was underneath the sheets... still I adore cats. So superior to dogs.

You might be disappointed : I'm not going to answer this one as it's a habit of mine to go down in the first round of this kind of fight... 't gives me plenty of time to watch other people perform sarcasm better than I do. Sometimes at my expense, most of the time not. Oh, and I didn't know the podcast, so I downloaded the last one ... and 90 minutes is just too freaking long; I don't know if I'll ever get the time to listen to one of these. Plus - it might just be bad luck- but skipping 15 minutes into the last installment, I ended up on a discussion on the very fresh topic that is game "darn, it used to be less" price. Yeah, whatever.

Wh.. Why are half of the links you posted in this thread porn ones ?!

I know that in France importing a DVD in the 6 months following the release of the film is theater was illegal and might still be. Maybe it's the same for games in the US...

If I remember it right, it would be best described as a cartoony Samorost... but it's been ages since I played those, so I might be mistaken.

I don't think pokemon card are that hip anymore, are they?

It's late, I've got some finals tomorrow and I just completed a 6-8 hour programming quiz sent by Terminal Reality upon a request for an internship. T'was hard, with something like 10 pages of questions in txt format and the interdiction to use the internet, books, friends... The left part of my brain feels numb, I'm eating curry and it makes me feel shapes in my palms: I had to try to remember stuff I had heard ages ago and then decide if my recollections were correct or not. Damn, is answering to this kind of thing usual when you try to get a real job ?

It is interesting, I would have thought that multiplayer games would use light TCP vs UDP as , in my opinion, in order delivery should be respected 90% of the time. There are already lag problems, if out of order packet would occur, the thing might be a huge mess, no ? As for authentication, I must say that I hadn't thought of it at all - I had only consider client/server scheme. So in P2P, what do they use for authentication : scheme from cryptography like MAC scheme, signature scheme and challenge/response scheme or stuff that were specifically designed for games ?

Yeah, but stuff like mathematics solver for multiple contact physics situation aren't easy to study just for the sake of it. And it's not like I had project that make me investigate this kind of problem:tmeh: Fortunately, I think I did quite well on the programming problems. And I do know quite a lot about network programming for wired and wireless environments (I'm deep into NS-2 right now, for god's sake) but they asked me what were the issues risen by multiplayer gaming for each genre and how to solve them... and that, I must admit, I don't know a lot about.
-
Looking back at it, the exercise was really useful to me because it highlighted all the limits of my knowledge on several topics( for example, I don't know shit about multiplayer programming and not a lot about physics) so it gives me hints as to what to study next. What's weird is that the quiz is the same for entry level or senior level.

... standing on one foot, with the screen shot down while hysterically laughing PR people from Nintendo throw green marshmallow at you. I really don't mean to be rude, it's just that everytime I try to get into this kind of game, I find that I have 0 interest in titles that deliver pleasure and satisfaction only to those strong enough to endure endless hour of statistic-driven gameplays enhanced with win condition that were designed by lunatics. On one hand, I'd like to understand your enthusiasm, but I on another wouldn't want to enjoy looking forward to spending a significant part of my life in the Pokemon universe which - from the little knowledge I gathered from stumbling upon the anime a dozen times- is really shite and irritating.

I don't think it's related to space : the last banner was with a model car on an explosion... Schafer also stated that he was researching a lot in mythology and in the teaser picture he made - a shot of his monitor displaying a script for the new game that people manage to analyze as a repetition of two 'this is seeeecret' sentences - contained a book that apparently talked about plant evolution or something. Heh, it's been a long time since DoubleFine was brought up in a discussion that didn't involve genetic experiment...
-
Heh, I find this definition of a good game pretty disturbing...

That's weird : I can't remember such a level in God of War, and god knows I'm not really a skillful gamer. The only part remotely connected would be a segment in the Path of Hades when you've got to kill a bunch of zombies as a moving wall threatens to crush you.

The ratio is messed up, isn't it ? I couldn't see it a t first but toggling quickly from one image to the other, I noticed the soldiers in the upscaled one are 'wider' than what they should be.
-
Why ? The guys are obviously very good at what they are doing and smart wacky content is not a genre in which only Schafer can deliver. And that's for the best.

I really, really, didn't like 300 : for a movie that pretends to be pure muscle there is an awful lot of crappy exposition scenes (let's say a big half of the movie is dedicated to set a stupid background) and the abuse of slow mo as well as the uninspired editing are killing all the fighting scenes.

Sorry to disappoint you but it's not that different from the English pronunciation. It's not like he was saying " Sacrebleu!"

Hotel Dusk is stellar. You'll only need to turn the music off to make it a masterpiece.

It's really weird that they'd release the US version quicker than when the Japanese version had an English translation included.
