Let's put the blame on Doublefine, shall we? They robbed some of us from the fragile dream that danced gracefully yet so ephemerally in the candlelights of the all-knowing Internet, bringing the pre-taste of that fuzzy feeling some of us are so longing for. Despite the appearances, despise their so-called reverence for Ninjas and Weiner-cars they so masterfully distilled in their blog entries, the 'people' at DoubleFine are soul-less vessels which, if one analyze their daily reports, are mainly bent on innocent animal torture. J'accuse Tim Shafer, J'accuse his henchmen and women of forging such a wicked impression of themselves and their little activity that even Rock Heaven appeared a believable cornerstone for a game they would dementedly craft. J'accuse also him of, not only being partly norwegian but also part Troll, and worse, not accepting it. This might have been approved by Phoenix Bailey, Cockney Attorney.

Have you seen the last entry of Double Fine Action News ? If you haven't, you should.

Wait,wait,wait,wait... I just noticed : is that the Meat Circus in the sixth screengrab ?!

I fear the Mirrormask effect : great visual ideas going to hell because the CG execution was too slick or too photoshopy... plus, I think that decent physicial fx can really had a density and a weight to the movie's universe that only high level CG can bring. So, what was your involvement in this project ? Writer, Set/Costume Designer, editor, Visual director or director ?
-
I really dig the lighting in most of these shots:tup: ... one concern though : is it heavy in CG or not ?
-
It's not cute, but someone had to do it ... right ?

and the second episode is up too. Ziggy has an awesome segment and the Bonus content is incredible. The reviews ?... a bit meh, this time.

I'm not sure this was clear : this was my first thought when watching the trailer - days before I read the linked blog entry - not while reading the blog entry.

I'm kind of a Disney fan, so I want to play the KH games for the designs, and the animation and the beauty of absurdingly mixing the FF and Disney universes... still, I HATE the Final Fantasy gameplay, so what to do ?

There was another Kon's Movie after the brilliant Millenium Actress : its title is Tokyo Godfather and it's worth checking it out. Mind you, it's really different from the other movies, but it's pretty good anyway. Then, there was Paranoia Agent, which is one of my favorite anime series (13 episodes) of all time : mind blowing in every sense. After watching all this stuff (plus the early movies), Paprika felt a bit of a step back in Kon's filmography : it's a bit simplistic, makes great mysteries of obvious plot elements, doesn't really built to any kind of point. a bit vain even though still esthetically gorgeous.

I must admit that my first thought was : "A sole white guy killing a bunch of black people because he "has something that needs to be done" ? This feels wrong." But it was just that : a visceral reaction; when my brain kicked in, I realized that, like you all saif, it still is like any other Resident Evil games, so no worries, eh ? Still, the trailer makes me feel a bit uneasy.

I don't really see the point of trying to go pass the Uncanny Valley... let's pretend reaching ultimate realism is possible, what then ? What are people going to do with it ? When I watch Beowulf's trailer, I really don't understand why the hell they chose complete CGI : the actors look the same, their performance were captured, CGI isn't enabling anything in terms of visual (as some would argue it did for Polar Express), and I can't see a single shot that couldn't have been achieved in a physical setting.

It's good, but it's too bad that in order to work, the show must happen in the dark, it makes it less impressive in terms of magicness...
-
err... which one ?

How far is Brighton from London by the way ?
-
Did you both touch him or ... touch him ? In both case, poor Uono. And why add the san at the end ? Do you say Monsieur Chahi or Herr Uwe Boll or for that matter, mister Molyneux ?
-
These are not shards , these are blades. It should all become crystal clear now that you know that.
-
I've just checked for means to go to Brighton from Paris and either ways - flight on a shitty 80 places or through train which seems pretty difficult anyway - it'd cost me more than half my very thin pay check...

I kinda miss his inconsequent mustache

It's like suddenly everyone wants to screw the giant corporation next door or that Moore has run out of reason to get tattoos thus trade himself for new ones. Anyway, I couldn't choose but it doesn't change the fact that Moore is going to EA Sport, to produce - wait for it - sports games. What a challenging position! His replacement is Don Mattrick, who's coming with a background in 1/ software port at Unlimited Software 2/ Milking big cows at EA : Batman "Fuck off, Batman.. " Begins, comes from him. He's like a second ,to us. It's like Microsoft and EA felt so alone and so bored in their own respective ivory tower that they organized a CEO exchange program during the summer, to get their kids entertained. Here, I've just run out of Kotaku-style comparisons, in this all-good-news thread.

There's a huge review of RE4 in season 2and a very nice eulogy of the GC in VideoGaiden.

My mistake then : they really are uninspired.

I don't think it's the ark either : in the developer's walkthroughs at gametrailers, you see the game beginning in a regular museum so I guess it will be a generic (aztec or whatever) and long lost artifact but certainly not the ark. During the showing of the opening scene, one of the developer tell the audience that the beasts are trying to turn the world to what they experienced it was by removing anything that's out of place... and it doesn't fit with the Ark either. So I guess you're just over-analyzing and got this 'Ark' and 'Pandora's box' story out of nowhere. Still, the game seems reaaaaally unsurprising and dull.
-
But... they never say it's pandora's box, right ?
