Fact of the day : Orly is the name of the second biggest airport around Paris.

I'd like to feel anything toward a game's title but I guess I've finally become totally jaded as I don't really see anymore how I can get offended over this : a name - like a cover - will sell a game or prevent it to be sold, and that's what is important... and most of time what grants commercial success goes against my preferences. So if Psychonauts had reached a wider public thanks to a more generic name and a more 'mainstream appealling' cover, I think my offended taste would have meant shit. I don't deny that the name of certain movies/games raise interest me more than other but that only lasts the time it remains a mystery ... once the game is played, the inner qualities (or lack of qualitiy) of the name fade behind what the game is : Blood Money sounds great to me and yet, I know deep inside that it isn't anything special

I didn't get it at all : I found it weird, but not in an interesting or funny way. To me, it felt forced so I gave up during the sub-level boss thing... I enjoyed the reviews of Bioshock and Space Giraffe though.

I don't understand : what's the difference between two tier internet and the current system in which the more money you pour in your internet access, the faster you connection is ?

That's from the Clerks short, isn't it ?

it's strange, I'm sure I read somewhere that this trailer was a target render for season 2... but, hell, I can't find the source again. That would be awesome.

There's a user hack being made to make Bioshock run on SM2.x cards, currently it makes the game run on SM2.b cards with most effects on (and X800 is one of them), but it's not final yet : http://www.paolofranchini.com/shshock/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5

To me, who is totally ignorant of other MGS, it looks like a gigantic mess, with realism and credibility completely out the window. Even more so, the gameplay sequences seem stuck between large thick layers of demented cutscenes, and in what was presented it also seemed full of bad-good gameplay ideas (the magazines, the pucking, the body search, the fuck-the-floor stealth move) and an atrocious AI. Despite all that, I find it to be a likeable mess, mainly because it doesn't look jaded or cynical at all.

Maybe not. Nevertheless, it's malware in every other aspect. This makes no sense to me.

Well, there doesn't seem to be any real proof behind the claim that Starforce is a malware. What is sure is that Starforce is very efficient against piracy... the thing is, in order to be, it relies on the fact that the user's disc drives should be of standar/high quality; and that's not the case for 10% of the PC gamer apparently.

Nah, I just had a few karate lessons several years ago - in the same club I was practicing Judo (you know it was the era in which Judo seemed cool to both parents and children alike) - and the instructor who was 20-odd years old turned out to be- simply put - the biggest moron I ever have encountered in my life. Its main methodologie consisted of burning the effect of a certain move in the brain of its students by demonstrating it without any kind of restraint on one of the smallest kids attending.

Were you one of those karate teachers that beat the crap out of their weakest student just to prove a point ?

Still, if your computer dies, you're screwed.

I think that is why Rodi said it was surprisingly fair.

So that's where your fascination from suspenders and bra comes from ... the hate toward the corporation of clowns remains a mystery to me though.

I thought spin-offs were branches on a certain vision of a universe; so to me a Lungfish-o-polis game would be a spin off rather than a sequel as it describes another aspect of the world established in Psychonauts with neither using the main cast nor the cliffhanger set by the end of the original game. Meh, it's all rhetorical anyway.

Done.. the first agree/ disagree question is quite strange :there's a lot of stuff overlapping.

I thought it meant "Us guys at the marketing department have way too much, money, booze, coke and ongoing contracts with bidet manufacturers on our hands"

She's just as annoying as most of the kid show hosts, that's all I can find to say.

What about the Flying One, hmm ?

I agree with you, hence the 'More seriously' following the paragraph you quoted.

On the other hand, using the same the statistics we can see that only 39.27% of the players actually finishes a game and that even when it's something like 5h 38m long. So why bother making a full game in the first place ? More seriously, I think that most games offer replayability as a market selling points : games are still widely considered as goods more than they are considered as cultural objects, so it appeals to the consumer inside us that we get greater value for our money But in terms of design, good replayability shoudln't be a feature that is decided in a vacuum, it should derive from other choices in the design. The best example is Blood Money in which you tend to do the same mission twice or thrice to see how the game would react to a different kind of approach, while trying to be the perfect assassin the game push you to be. So in this respect, and if I clearly understood what some friends told me about the game, Dead Rising's replayability comes from the fact that the game ask you to make real choice between who lives and who dies, which in trying to recreate a zombie holocaust setting, is kinda coherent and neat.

Yeah, but if it's the church's lawn, is it still evil ?

Mafia is a ' Spanish Inquisition' game; every time I think about it it's like that : "I only enjoyed two things about Mafia : the music and the city. And the Voice Over. Wait, in fact I really only liked three things about Mafia : the music, the voice acting, the city and the characters So, four of them : the music, the voice acting, the city and the characters- and the cars. " And so forth.... I'm not sure what it didn't struck me as genius now or even while I was playing it, I guess there were too many borderline areas in the game : controls weren't shit but they could have been better, the storyline was good but not THAT good.
