I remember a study about kids' behavior that went like this : in a class of 5-6 years old kids, the teacher would 'reward' the kids by allowing them to pick one candy out of a candy bowl that was left in another room, away from the teachers and the pupils. A camera was in there to witness how the kid would behave : would they take one candy as told or or transgress the rule and have more ? The researches repeated the experiment with a variation : they would sometimes install a mirror that the kids would have to face while they were picking the candy. The statistics showed that the number of kids picking more than one candy would greatly decrease if the mirror was there, and that the kids that, without the mirror, had taken several candy bars without hesitation would look in the mirror, hesitate for a while and, in most cases, would end up take only one candy. Pretty interesting, eh?

The following : " we know him, so it's ok" was also hilarious. -

Merry Christmas to you all, the young and the elderly, the healthy and the sick, hoping that everything's going to be better for everybody. Most (all ?) of you I don't know personally, but from what I can tell, you're awesome, so keep it up and have an awesome Christmas.

Totally agree about Hitman - Blood Money : I hadn't played the previous installments and it turned out to be, even to this day, the last masterpiece I've played. It's like the perfect RPG/puzzle/shooter game and also the only game in which I felt that the NPCs just knew what I was up to ... and it's true that each session creates a valid and full story, even when you fuck up and die. Damn, I want to play it again, now!

They should really stop looking at the camera... really.

Anybody got a link to the Jack Black & Tim Schafer sequence ?

Yey, more fuel for my paranoia

I think it's the weight of the character : he seems agile, but he moves quite slowly and heavily.

Maybe, but describing the pinnacle of humankind evolution to kids as Earth explosion grants you extra points.

Idle Thumbs 8: Green Lantern is the Blindfolded Fool

Great one! Loved the song and the therapy session bout your childhood's gaming privation, which I understand oh so well. The bit comparing the replay mechanisms of Braid and Sands of Time was also excellent. -
it surely can beat this http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=oNURUGCOQ5I&feature=related

Idle Thumbs 8: Green Lantern is the Blindfolded Fool

I'm posting while I'm listening, so there might be multiple post : I think some people were expecting more gunfights from Mirror's Edge, not because it's a Video game but because it's from DICE which, despite having made some racing games, are mainly known from Battlefield series... it's not as a far fetch assumption as what you're making it sound. -

They've got an impressive art team, so the end might not be a complete skybox. The following trailer was released in 2006-ish, it was already looking quite awesome : Their dev blog is also a good hint that these guys are working on environmental functions that could make this really impressive :

Delete me up, Scotty! This is hilarious. edit : though I can see his point : if he doesn't like rhythm games, the probability that he is going to enjoy GH is kinda low.

They faked it ? It's quite unnoticeable.

So he turned into Ernest Adams ? Oh,dear ...

Just for the record, Haze didn't sell well, and it also almost killed Free Radical Design.

Strong Bad has a very different humour and a very different approach of the adventure genre than Sam & Max : I don't like it, but I wouldn't say it's inferior.

So, I see you're back to your collection of famous game designers' restraining orders , eh ?

The All New XBox Gamertag Exchange Thread!
vimes replied to ThunderPeel2001's topic in Multiplayer Networking
Chris meant that when you click on Nowak gamertag image, it links to Thunderpeel profile. Copy-paste pb I guess. -
Apparently, they got the universe and its History right (because it was kinda original for a game) and yet, they just completely screw the actual story of the game as well as the characters backstory... too bad :/
