I won this thread last week.

Hmm. A few possibilities here that led to someone's domain purchase and site slurp: Someone hates Kingz. Someone hates us. Kingz hates us. Kingz hates himself. Keep in mind that these are not mutually exclusive.

Yeah, I played this and feel pretty much the same way. The game also managed to be really visually interesting as well. Spending more time away from the usual office/street setting was a nice change.

Activision Australia re-releases old Adventure Games!
David replied to Aussie Ben's topic in Video Gaming
Activision still handles basically all of LucasArts' non-North American distribution, so it's apparently within the power European and Australian branches (at least) to reissue the games when they see fit. It remains to be seen if LucasArts will ever wise up and release another classics pack on their own in the States, but maybe if they look at the international sales of these re-releases and see that the marketplace realities are counter to prior predictions, we could get something headed our way (which I will probably buy). Wow, that was a slippery slope and a run-on sentence. Anyway, I'm not holding my breath. -
After about six months of looking for various different things, I've found a job as a web project assistant at a travel company. I hesitate to say the name of the company because I almost feel like I'd be jinxing it after waiting for so long to work (I am weird). I haven't had my first day there yet, maybe once I'm a bit more settled I'll spill my guts. Congrats to you all. We like good news!

I like this thread. More positivity and newborn babies on the Thumb! In my own news, I just got called by the company I really wanted to work for saying that I'd gotten the job!

Which page of the Doom book should be read in the podcast?
David replied to Spaff's topic in Video Gaming
Schmatz is a genuine individual. He runs this and had a hand in a few sites around Mojo a few years back. However, it's remotely possible he was motivated to come vote here, erm. -

The dancing segments of Raving Rabbids are pretty much the only rhythm games I can do. Odd.

Brian Eno to create procedurally generated music for Spore

Which isn't bad! Sorry, I really shouldn't post in this thread anymore -
Brian Eno to create procedurally generated music for Spore
David replied to Marek's topic in Video Gaming
I know, I know. I'm just not big on ambient music. It's a buzzword that hits me in the wrong way, but it could mean a lot of things and turn out to be good or whatever. But, I mean, the Dentist's office has ambient music. I prefer music to not be background noise or something that they advertise on those "pure moods" CD ads. I like music that's hard to ignore. -

Procedurally generated music? I fear it, and will preemptively deal it one of these: Who's with me? -

 I just got back from Children of Men and it was very very good. Haven't seen Pan's Labyrinth yet, as it's playing a few towns away and will take slightly more effort to see. I will try to get to it soon though.

The new E3 will hereby be known as "E for All".....what?
David replied to Spaff's topic in Video Gaming
Yeah, me too, and I think calling it "E" is slightly more common usage where I live. But then I don't hang out with actual users, so they might call it "X" or "hey there country music, let's make out". -
Because it's not broken? I really, really, really don't hear what you guys (meaning the several of you who have posted about the compression) are talking about when it comes to the "bad" sound quality. If it must be addressed yet again, though, I would say that fitting a whole game into a 70MB download and paying like 6 bucks per episode (assuming we all ordered the whole season), and then having the game company faithfully adhere to a release schedule, which is so rare in the industry, is well worth the trade-off of some missing sound quality. But I don't hear any problems, so I guess I'm getting a better deal

Hearing about employed idiots only makes my joblessness harder to bear. I am probably slightly less of an idiot than the idiots where you guys work; can I replace them?

The new E3 will hereby be known as "E for All".....what?
David replied to Spaff's topic in Video Gaming
I imagine this name might have originally been E4all, playing off E3 more explicitly (and cornily). I think I would have gone with E3:4: E for all, and all for E (With a Vengeance). -
I have hope! I would really like to get a good job this month; which, if attained, would mean that I would get to game at all in 2007, as well as do a lot of other things that did not occur in 2006. I'm having Wii withdrawal currently (some of my relatives got it for Christmas ).

Dan Lee/Jayel, if I'm not mistaken.
