  1. Battlestar Galactica season 2 finale

I watched the pilot and the first episode from season one... it was ok. I wasn't so captivated by it that that I'd run out and buy the first season, but I might check it out from netflix this summer if I'm looking for something to watch. Probably my favorite thing about it was Gaius. He's awesome and his hallucinations are great.
  2. sweet! Futurama rules. I can hardly wait.
  3. high system requirements

I'm trying to test out my computer to see if it'll be able to squeek by running Oblivion. Can anyone recommend any demos for games that have pretty hefty system requirements?
  4. Sid Meier

Perfect example of why you don't show screenshots of your new game right off the bat. I didn't really think the new Pirates was all that great. I played it for about a week and got bored with it. I don't know, it seemed more repetitive than the original. Maybe it was because of those cutscenes they were always re-using.
  5. high system requirements

I was going to upgrade the memory in my notebook to a gig, but my dad thought I should go all the way and upgrade to two gigs while I was at it, so I did. I can't wait, it's going to be awesome, though still not nearly as awesome as it would be if I were able to upgrade my graphics card. After this I'm definitely going to be holding of on Metroid for a while.
  6. Phoenix Wright re-stocked!

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6145876.html Most excellent news. If you own a DS, but not Phoenix Wright do yourself a favor -- run out and buy it right now before it's sold-out again. Looks like the chances for more courtroom drama being released in the West have just gone up.

This is the only place that I found with it in stock, though they might be lying.
  9. Battlestar Galactica season 2 finale

Yeah, I was just about to ask about that. I was confused. Thanks. [edit]bah. The bastards want me to pay $15 to download the whole thing. That's not going to happen.
  10. Battlestar Galactica season 2 finale

If I buy the first episode of the first season from the iTunes store I don't have to watch it on an iPod, do I? Stupid question probably, but I've never done it before nor do I own an iPod.

    I hate those round ones.
  12. Battlestar Galactica season 2 finale

I've never seen the show, but I just releazied that he's the guy from Stand and Deliver. Awesome.
  13. Favorite Zelda

I'm right in the middle of playing A Link to the Past for my first time. It's awesome. It took me a while to get into it at first because I was taken a bit aback by its difficulty compared to the other Zelda games, especially after having just played Minish Cap, but I'm glad I gave it another chance. While I haven't finished it yet, I'd say that it's probably going to be my favorite of the series, though I haven't played the very first two or, unfortunately, any of the N64 or NGC games. If I were to rank them it'd probably go: A Link to the Past, Oracle of Ages, Link's Awakening, Oracle of Seasons, and, finally, Minish Cap. I really love Link's Awakening, and it was the very first gameboy game I ever played (as well as first Zelda game). But, Oracle of Ages is also quite good, and it has some truly wicked dungeons in it. It's been so long since I've played either of them though. They really need a re-release that'll work on the DS. Minish Cap I found to be a bit disappointing. It seemed to lack heart, and the dungeons weren't even that good, especially the bosses which were re-used in multiple dungeons with crazy changes like fighting two instead of one. This sucked since they really weren't that interesting the first time around. Oh, one other thing, I think it's interesting that when you go to the Dark World for the first time in A Link to the Past the animal representation of Link is a rabbit, yet for Twilight Princess the animal representation of Link is going to be a wolf. I guess rabbits just aren't badass enough anymore.
  14. Shipping Mishaps

A little trick, usually if you have the shipper mark the item as a gift you won't have to pay anything.
  15. hickee

I just got Volume 2 #1 and Volume 3 #1 today. You should definitely pick them up sometime. I haven't read 3.1 yet, but 2.1 has a particularly good series by Scott C. I asked about Volume 3 #2, and apparently it's not going to be coming out till June now. Bummer.
  16. I never thought I'd see the day...

that I'd actually agree with President Bush. This whole deal with several US ports coming under the control of a company based in Dubai is utterly ridiculous. What's even crazier is the fact that Bush is right about something for once. Damn congress and its election year politics. This along with Bush's new emphasis on renewable energy sources has really taken me aback. What's come over him?
  17. Cars

I heard a rumor that Brad Bird is trying to get the go ahead to make a traditional animation movie. That'd be awesome. Iron Giant is the best. Parts of that are cell-shade though, right?
  18. Sequel-itis at IGN

http://games.ign.com/articles/694/694793p1.html I'm right in the middle of listening to it right now, and it's not too bad. Naturally they talk about Psychonauts a good bit. It's interesting, I was talking an employee who I like at my local ebgames, and he was saying that Psychonauts has actually been selling pretty consistently there. He said that most games will completely disappear after the first couple of months, but that they've continued to keep Psychonauts in stock. Now, I'm sure that Psychonauts's sales weren't amazing, but I can't help but wonder if they were all that terrible. At least it looks like it still has a chance to become a sleeper-hit like Grim.
  19. Sequel-itis at IGN

It would seem to me that it would be the store's loss and not the developer or publisher's loss on bargin bin games. Don't stores buy games from them in the first place, and then mark them up as they see fit?
  20. The big names in gaming

I don't know, but if I remember correctly he had some good stuff to say in this article.
  21. The big names in gaming

ah, I didn't read what you said carefully enough. Yeah, it'll be nice when Obsidian stops being Bioware's bitch and makes an original game for themselves.

He didn't do Planescape anyway. That was Chris Avellone.
