I had just over 7 free gigs before installing GameTap and playing BG&E, and now I have over 12 free gigs. That's just wrong, and makes no sense what so ever.

New trailer. I think this is the first time I've ever seen a Bioware game with interesting cutscenes. Yeah, I know this isn't a Bioware game, but it's still a Bioware hand-me-down. Plus, the old Black Isle (essentially now Obsidian) always seemed to have trouble with cutscenes too, besides the intro to Planescape. That was brilliant.

Nope, Half-Life ran normally. It's just that normally feels like you're running on ice until you get used to it.

I just tried out GameTap. I'm really impressed by how many quality games they have on that thing. I really like it, but I did encounter a rather large problem with it. I tried to play BG&E to see how it fared with more recent games, and for some reason it was running like it was on speed or something. The sound was normal, but the graphics were running way way too fast. Did anyone else have this problem? Anyway, I'd recommend signing up for the free trial this week because they're going to be covering e3. I'm assuming that their live feed of the conferences will be a bit more stable than other sites. Also, they have an interview with Dan Conners of Telltale Games on Wednesday. Here's their schedule. [edit]Almost forgot, there's one other worrying thing about GameTap. Somehow it created 5 gigs of hard drive space that I didn't previously have. I'm about to investigate to see if it deleted something.

Has anyone actually used GameTap? Is it any good?

wow. That was quite impressive. I'm usually pleased when it just comes back up again...

I don't believe so. I can't remember where I read it, but I believe Tim said that they won't be showing anything this year. If anything I'd guess that they'd be showing some really early stuff to prospective publishers. Hopefully they'll make an official announcement next time around.

I would have to agree with Oath.

Star Wars Original (Original) Trilogy on DVD?
Moosferatu replied to DanJW's topic in Movies & Television
Nope, I knew about it the day before thanks to Mixnmojo. -
Is SM64 worth getting?
-
I have no idea why, but I just watched all of this Gamespot e3 video blog. It sucked, but somewhere in the 6 minute there's a guy wearing the Whispering Rock Psychic Summer Camp shirt.

I have no idea if that's the same footage or not because 1up doesn't work for me. Also, I just read on this site that Spore won't be coming out till 2007.

Half-Life Thanks for the info, Snubs. That's exactly what it feels like. Weird. I guess I'll get used to it then.

Against my better judgement I just went through the training. The game seems to be running really fast. That is, it feels like I'm moving too fast. Is this normal? Is there something I can do about it?

I just finished it again. A couple of things I noticed my second time through: --I don't know if I somehow missed it the first time or if I just forgot about it, but I thought it was interesting to note that the drawings on Faith's wall depict Zoe and whatever it was that happened to Brian at the beginning. How the heck does she know about all that stuff? Also, if she knows about what happened to Brian why doesn't she tell someone? --I'm becoming more and more suspicious of Zoe's mother. I suspect there's a whole lot more to her. It stuck me a couple days back that there has to be someone running the Stark side of things in coordination with what the Prophet is cooking up in Arcadia. It's obviously not Petes. He's pretty much clueless, and just thinks the dreamer is some great new pleasure device to feed his hedonistic desires. I highly doubt it's what's her face, his whining second in command just because she's so stupid. That only leaves Zoe's mother left, if we assume we've already been introduced to the character. I'm not going to say that it is her because it's quite possible that we haven't met who's in charge yet, but I certainly think that she's involved in someway. There's more to it than this. From the things she was saying at the end it's fairly obvious that she has a high level of access to the dreamer program. She said that she tried to locate Faith herself, but was able to. She also was somehow able to get her hands on a dreamer. I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that her company was just involved with developing morpheus. It also seems that they might be into some sort of genetic engineering as it sounds like they created Faith and possibly Zoe as well. Regardless, she would have had to have been actually at WATI HQ to search the dreamcore for Faith, which doesn't add up. Also, what's her motivation for wanting the dreamer to ship so badly? She's not really part of WATI (though her company is owned by them), and she tries to give the impression that she disapproves of what they're doing. Yet, at the same time she works incredibly hard to make sure that it launches. It just doesn't add up at all. As it stands she has absolutely nothing to gain, unless she's working toward part of the bigger picture. Really the only problem with this that I see is the fact that someone tried to kill her at the beginning. I think it's interesting that it wasn't the twins though that tried to bump her, they were clearly in town. No, instead, it was some weird guy in a black coat who we never see again. It almost makes me think that it wasn't WATI that was trying to bump her, but someone else who knew what she was up to. Of course, I have no idea who. This is probably all bullshit. I think I'm done speculating now.

It's cool that more Source based games are popping up. I just watched a trailer for The Ship and it looks pretty cool. It's hard to believe that it uses the Source engine because it looks so different. Very nice.

I ended up deciding to get the complete collection. I could be wrong, but it seems to me that they changed it recently. I did the math and if I progressively got the Half-Life 1 anthology, then HL2, and finally Episode 1 it would have cost me around $65. There's currently a discount on the complete collection (which includes Episode 1), so it's down to $71. Considering I'd get several other games for just $6 more, I figured it was worth it. I'm not going to actually start playing it though till after my exams next week, and then I might play Psychonauts again first. I think those yo-yos rekindled my desire for some more Psychonautsy goodness.

I think Blizzard said that they won't be showing anything besides the WoW expansion this year.

Check out these interesting shots someone posted at Adventure Gamers. http://tlq.nl/prut/westhouse.jpg http://tlq.nl/prut/prophet.jpg intriguing...

Speaking of which, check out this new interview on the Original Trilogy. Looks awesome.

Yeah, I thought about that too. I feel confident that Ragnar didn't just "forget" about him. There must have been some reason he decided not to include him in the ending, but I'll be damned if I can figure it out. I'm currently playing it through for the second time. It's great, that scene after the Victory Hotel when you talk to Emma and Charlie still gives me goosebumps. I think it's that awesome feeling of nostalgia.

Well, they claim that the video Bethesda sent them wasn't representative of the worst gore and violence in the game.

miffy, you might want to hold off getting Jade Empire. It looks like an improved version is headed for the PC. [edit]Shack appears to have removed the story for some reason.

Titan Quest looks like it's too much of a pure hack-n-slash for my liking.
