  1. Zelda: A Link to the Past? CORRECT!

Yeah, most Zeldas are like that. A Link to the Past is arguably the best though. What system are you playing it on?
  2. Great place to get sex outfits!

I like how the forum clips off the last word of the title of the thread.

    Braveheart is a turd. :ponycrap:
  4. Battlestar Galactica Season 3

Yeah, I think it's really interesting that they haven't shown much of the black cylon. It makes me wonder if there's something up with him. At first I just thought that they were having trouble getting him back, but then he all a sudden turned up for that one scene towards the end of the second episode. Suspicious. As for D'Anna, I see her specialization as sort of the front man. She seems to be the voice of the Cylons. A friend of mine just watched the first two episodes, and had a much different response to it than we did, so I thought I'd share what he had to say about it just to get a different perspective.
  5. Battlestar Galactica Season 3

Dude, what the heck are you doing watching the previews?
  6. Battlestar Galactica Season 3

For the love! Will someone fracking kill Kat already!?! It's going to be hard to handle a season with her as CAG. Other than that  . I'm particularly enjoying Tigh and the Starbuck subplot. One other thing, I can't remember, did Hotdog die last season or is he still around?
  7. Movie/TV recommendations

Oh man, I just watched the first three episodes of Studio 60. It's wonderful. I'm in awe that it even exists. Also, 300 trailer.

  9. Battlestar Galactica Season 3

I've considered registering to use demonoid a couple of times, but never have because it didn't seem wise to register for something that is legally questionable. Did you register, Marek?

Has anyone watched much Six Feet Under? I watched the first episode this summer, but no more because I usually don't love family dramas. I was at Best Buy today checking out their box sets and was completely taken with the cover art for the show. I feel compelled to watch more of the show now.
  11. Battlestar Galactica (BSG) and spinoffs

Yeah, the intro to Kobol's Last Gleaming Part I is probably the single greatest BSG moment for me. I love how is so elegantly captures almost all of the emotions and tensions that had lead up to that point. Gives me shivers every time. I've watched three episodes of The Wire so far (nothing like putting off school work), but I want to wait till I've finished the season to comment on it.
  12. The Wire

I just watched the first episode of The Wire. I'm really looking forward to watching more. Has anyone watched Huff? I watched the first episode of it last week and quite enjoyed it. I love Oliver Platt. What other HBO shows are worth checking out? Is Rome any good?
  13. Movie/TV recommendations

Yeah, characters are a key part of a show, but I don't think there's necessarily a relationship between great characters and the quality of a show's content. Whenever I watch House I feel like I'm watching the same episode as the week before with a few slight changes. A couple weeks ago the creator of the show was being interviewed on NPR, and the interviewer mentioned that in shows like House or CSI you can pretty much set your watch by when certain events happen. "Let's see, House just made his first misdiagnosis. Must be about 20 after now." Can anyone honestly say that they are at all on the edge of their seats to see how the episode is going to end, or are even interested in the out come? For me at least, I couldn't care less. The only draw the show has is what the characters are going to say or do next, which often has little relation to what the particular episode is about as they're mostly the same. Imagine how much better the show could if there were interesting things happening instead of just interesting characters. This would even give the actors a chance to express more of their characters.
  14. Movie/TV recommendations

Yes, I think all of the characters are interesting, especially House, but that doesn't change the fact that the show itself is lame and exceedingly formulaic.

Dude, I'm so jealous. I really want to see Children of Men, but it doesn't get a US release till the end of December. Bastards. As for House... House, the show, sucks; House, the character, is amazing.
  16. Battlestar Galactica webisodes

Man, after the most recent webisode I'm even more excited about Tigh than I was before. I just watched the extended version of Pegasus. It was ok. Parts of it were an improvement, but there were parts that I liked better in the original cut. In other words, it wasn't quite as amazing as Ron would have you believe.
  17. Dreamfall discussion *spoilers*

So... what are your thoughts on Dreamfall? Ragnar said on his blog, "The ending is definitely worth it, I promise." It's a delightfully ironic statement considering the ending is one of the first things you hear people complain about, right after the combat. I thought that the ending really was quite beautiful, and I admit that I was on the verge of tearing up. Not only was it beautifully delivered, but as far as I know it's one of the most unique endings in video game history. It seems like the vast majority of games have the typical canned happy hollywood, whereas Dreamfall's ending is much more like something you'd expect from an indie film. It's about the journey that took place, how the characters changed, and excepts that not everything turns out perfectly. This aspect of the ending I absolutely love. Then there's the other part of the ending. The part that left huge questions unanswered. It's this part that I have mixed feelings about. I don't really mind that this things were left opened as I'm sure they'll be answered in the third and final game, but the hard part is that it could well be 2015 before it comes out if what Ragnar has said in the past is anything to go by. Now that sucks. Actually, when it comes down to it, this is probably the real reason people are upset about it. I'm almost certain that after the last game comes out people will look back on Dreamfall's ending with great fondness. You know, Dreamfall's ending and the reaction to it actually reminds me a lot of the ending to LeChuck's Revenge (man, it's been way too long since I last played that game.). Here's to hoping that this is where the similarities to the Monkey Island series end and the third game actually gets made. Some thoughts on random stuff: --I'm fairly certain that Brian is "the prophet" who was manipulating the Azadi. The must puzzling thing about Brain's character is the fact that Cortez both trusted him and aided him. I thought that Ragnar might just gloss over this, but the clip after the credits certainly shot that theory. --I'm sure no one actually thought that April was really killed for even a second, so there's not really any point mentioning that, but there are still a couple of interesting things to note. First, someone in the Funcom forum pointed out that the old woman telling the story in TLJ (ei April) goes by the name "Lady Alvane", which happens to be Kian's last name. Suspicious. The second thing is probably the thing that bugs me the most about the game because I feel like the answer is there but I just don't see it -- how did Zoe save April? No, I don't mean because April "died". What I don't understand is what Zoe had to do with anything. I somehow fail to see how she had any impact on either April's character or the situation leading up to April's "death". Does anyone get this? --Another thing that bothers me is the way Charlie and Emma are treated. They didn't get any closure in TLJ and the don't get any this time around either. I'm guessing they'll finally get their due in the final game having now seen that Ragnar really is doing an amazing job of continuing character development cross games. Yeah, I think that about sums up my thoughts and speculations. I really loved this game. It's going to be a long, hard wait for the grand finally, but I'm sure it'll be worth it.
  18. DS modding

This is how you flash it. It's not hard at all, though there is an added slight possiblity of screwing things up that didn't exist with the fat DS. No, scummvm won't brick your ds. You only have to worry about that with poorly or maliciously coded apps.
  19. Battlestar Galactica webisodes

woohoo! I just got the second half of the second season on dvd. I'm dying to watch the extended Pegasus, but I'm waiting till this weekend so I can watch it with my brother. Anyone here seen it yet?
  20. DS modding

You'd have to use a PassMe2. It doesn't really require all that more work to flash your DS, and it's actually better for it. If you ever decide to dabble in other homebrew apps with an un-flashed DS you run the risk of bricking it.

Little Miss Sunshine is essentially the must see movie of the summer.
  22. Jedi Academy mappers.

I'm pretty sure that's what he meant.
  23. Sam and Max is coming back

huh? Are you referring to the original game? Probably not that big of an issue. Just wait for the Wii version of scummvm.
  24. Movie/TV recommendations

    Awesome, thanks for the tip.

Anyone seen Hollywoodland or The Black Dahlia yet? I'm probably only going to be able to see one in theaters, so I'm trying to decide which to see. I'm currently leaning towards The Black Dahlia.
