  1. Hellboy: Sword of Storms

Ok, it was rather disappointing, but it had potential. Hopefully the next will be better.
  2. Battlestar Galactica Season 3

Excellent episode. It's great that after two seasons they've finally gotten over their restrooms and did their first mess hall scenes. I'm really looking forward to seeing where the subplot between Tigh and Adama is going. That scene was incredible.

Is that not the most pretentious poster ever? Check out the trailer for Notes on a Scandal. I can't really tell how good it's going to be, but Judi Dench is positively creepy. Finally, ign makes it sound like they might be making a two-part movie version of the Hobbit. Personally, I think that's bull crap. If they can squeeze each of the LOTR books down into their own, a bit long, movies, then there's no reason they can't do the same for the Hobbit. I was excited about the prospect for a Hobbit movie, but this rumor has put a bit of a damper on my enthusiasm.
  4. Firefox 2.0

    Excellent! Great extension.
  5. Firefox 2.0

Yeah, but that extension doesn't work on FF2. ctrl+shift+t undoes closed tabs now which irritates me even more because I used to use that key combo for duplicating the current tab in a new tab. The spell check is nice though. Wormsie, this should do the trick.
  6. Firefox 2.0

Damn it! The new the firefox blows. They've screwed over the tabs again. Does anyone know how to change it so middle clicking on the tab bar undoes closed tabs again?
  7. Important confession

my, my, it's been a while.
  8. DS Games

Touch Detective doesn't seem to be getting the greatest reviews. I wonder how it really is. Has anyone here played it?
  9. DS Games

Why do you need four copies?
  10. Battlestar Galactica Season 3

Because some people might not have watched the most recent episode yet.
  11. Battlestar Galactica Season 3

wow, Exodus pt 2 was phenomenal. It was probably the best action episode that they've ever done.
  12. DS Games

    Is Rocket Slime good?
  13. DS Games

I've played about an hours worth of Contact now. It's absolutely fantastic. I was beginning to start to prepare myself to be slightly let down after seeing some of the reviews (not that it's gotten terrible reviews by any means), but they're all wrong. Contact is a blast. Phoenix Wright is one of my all time favorite games, but I think I'm going to hold out for the US release. I should have plenty to keep me busy in the mean time.
  14. DS Games

I think it's supposed to come out the beginning of January in the US, but I hear the Japanese version that comes out next week, I think, will have selectable languages. I wonder if the translation is going to be the same.
  15. Sam and Max & Gametap

Not like it's that hard to find a used copy.
  16. Sam and Max & Gametap

Do yourself a favor and just buy Planescape. A copy of it and BGII should be on everyone's shelves. I'm looking forward to see what Uru is going to be like when they re-launch it. I heard that they've changed some stuff in it. My biggest peeve with it are its absolutely horrendous controls. If that's been fixed I think I could get into it.
  17. Kotaku: Go to Hell.

The comments on that post are quality.
  18. Sam and Max & Gametap

I like Gametap, but I don't play enough to justify a subscription. I heard a rumor that after they get it running for Macs they're going to do linux next. If they do I'll subscribe without a seconds thought. That would be just about the best thing ever. How's Sam & Max?
  19. Movie/TV recommendations

I really enjoyed the first couple episodes, but I think it's been pretty much downhill from there. All of the high-brow moral speeches seem out of place. Though I'm not enjoying it nearly as much now, I plan on watching it for at least a couple more weeks. I really enjoy the chemistry between Matt and Danny.
  20. What are you listening to?

I don't really listen to all that much music, basically whatever my roommate has on. He's been playing Protest the Hero for the past few weeks, and I'm quite surprised to find myself really enjoying it, especially Turn Soonest to the Sea.
  21. Battlestar Galactica Season 3

Ok, I completely agree with that, which is why I think they should have had at least one episode prior to the events of Occupation to re-establish the characters and provide context.
  22. Battlestar Galactica Season 3

I'm not sure if that's the greatest comparison. The Kain trilogy has some of the greatest and most powerful character moments in the entire series. I don't think there's been anything even near as powerful as of yet in the third season. This doesn't make the episodes bad though as not every episode can be a Pegasus or Resurrection Ship. Also, I don't think any of the characters were acting out of character in the Kain trilogy. Roslin always has been a hawkish pragmatist to Adama's idealism. Ok, it might be a little of a strech for Adama to actually plan out the assasination, but he does have very very deep loyalties to his crew and the fleet. It wasn't the first time that he put them first before standard protocol.
  23. Battlestar Galactica Season 3

I've got to be honest, right now I'm feeling a bit disappointed with how season three is going. It could just be me, but I don't really feel emotionally connected to any of the characters anymore. It's been, what, a year and four months since the last meaningful window into their lives? The characters appear to have changed so much, but I don't feel them anymore. Instead of getting to know them again we're just shown a couple of scenes of them doing shit and all a sudden everything is supposed to be clear. It seems very un-Battlestar like to cut straight to the action without the emotional build first. As a result, for me, nothing that has happened so far really has the weight that it should. The scenes on Galactica are almost laughable, but, besides that, even the suicide bombing bit at the end of the first episode didn't really hit me all that hard. I think having so many different characters has finally gotten to them. I gave them more slack in the first couple episodes because I figured they had so much to get in that I shouldn't really expect them to spend much time developing where the individual characters were at now, but after this past episode I'm beginning to wonder. I mean, half of it was pure padding yet there still wasn't much in the way of meaningful character development, or rather character establishment. What they should have done was start the season one episode earlier and establish who the characters are and what is going on. I don't feel the oppressiveness of the Cylon rule or the lostness of the Galactica like I should, and it's disappointing. I still have faith that the season will improve as it progresses though, especially after the are reunited and a couple more characters bite the dust. Just so you guys know my friend that I qouted last week isn't a complete idiot, here's what he had to say when I was discussing this with him.
  24. Battlestar Galactica Season 3

I didn't think Exodus part 1 in and of itself was the greatest. There was a good bit of padding at the beginning and most of the episode was just set-up for things to come. The next episode, on the other hand, promises to be a knock out. I can't wait. I loved D'Anna's dream sequence. The visuals on this show never cease to impress me.
  25. Sad but funny

geez, that's a throw back. Marek has to be the most picked on guy in the community what with that and the eye toy thing.
