I don't think Persepolis has been mentioned yet. I watched it last night, and it's fantastic.

It's a flawed, but very fun game. The combat is fun and satisfying. I can see how it could become a little old and repetitive, but it easily kept me entertained throughout. This is probably partly because the game isn't needlessly long winded (it took me around 15 hours to complete), and they often change things up. Besides that, the game is worth getting for its style and cutscenes alone. They're fantastic. On the downside, the "free-roaming" city is boring and poorly utilized. The "jobs" you have to do to make money are poorly implemented and primarily a huge, occasionally frustrating, waste of time. Worst of all, the interaction with your cat is fricking lame. I was really looking forward to being able to play with the cat with the Wiimote, but it turns out all you it lets you do is push the A button to advance it through a series of fixed animations.

This game is quite frustrating. I'm glad I got No More Heroes so I can blow off some steam.

This is probably not the appropriate place to post this, but it just came to mind. Every fan of The Wire should read this New Yorker piece from a few weeks back.

I just finished the first episode of Tin Man. It's pretty terrible, though I can see it being quite enjoyable if accompanied by a RiffTrax. Speaking of which, I recently watched Battlefield Earth with the RiffTrax, and it was pure gold. My friends and I actually watched it twice in the same week. I strongly recommend it.

Does anyone hear listen to any internet radio stations? I'm trying to find a quality classic rock station.

I really hated how cheap Family Guy-esque jokes reared their ugly head. I did really enjoy the new variations of the main theme, however. In other news, anyone watched any of the new Boosh?

Damn it! I wish I'd known that earlier.

The boss itself isn't that bad, but they force you to trudge through a half-hour to an hours worth of tedious button mashing before each attempt.

Has anyone here finished it? I got to the end, but gave up at the final boss after two unsuccessful attempts. Such a pain in the ass.

I've found myself wanting to play the final battle song by itself.

I hated the boss battles, but there are only three of them. It's basically like you're playing co-op but instead of getting star power you get attacks that you activate like star power to mess-up your opponent. For example, one of them ups the difficulty by one for a short period and another "breaks" a string so you have to hammer a particular button till it's fixed. You can only win by making the boss fail. And, yeah, you can't play the songs outside of the battles, but you can replay the battles.

I never played either of the previous two games extensively, but I'm very satisfied with GH3 for the Wii. It's a blast.

ah, well, as long as the puzzles are decent I might check it out.
-
I've never been that excited about the game. The impression I've always had was that it'd be extremely linear, moving from one small area to the next, and be mostly comprised of relatively uninteresting, simplistic "puzzles". Please tell me if I'm mistaken, as I'd love to be.

Sierra's ftp site is working just fine. However, they appear to have removed all Brutal Legend content.

I thought it was interesting that they didn't drop any names in the trailer.

It's interesting that they're trying to work in online multiplayer. If the article is anything to go by, it doesn't sound like they're currently very far on it though. I'd be surprised if it were released before 3rd quarter next year.

damn it. I don't want to have to buy a 360.

Anyone tried out IBM's Lotus Symphony? It's over-zealous spell checker drives me nuts.

Dicking around in the camp is probably my favorite part of the game...
