I'd take that any day over the mystical bullshit, Cylon identity crisis, and ramped up melodrama. To each his own, I guess. Every time I refresh this page you've edited your post. Also, I didn't dislike the fourth season or the ending. Despite a couple of minor annoyances and having a million endings (Return of the King syndrome), I was still tearing up.

??? So... you didn't like the first two seasons, but enjoyed the third and forth? I can't wrap my head around that.

I was showered with invites this past week, so if anyone still wants one...

Idle Thumbs 50: "Farewell, Video Games" or "The Shitty Wizard"
Moosferatu replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Great cast, guys. I've enjoyed it immensely, and genuinely feel sad to hear it go -- like saying goodbye to a friend. On a lighter note, after the last episode finished iTunes started playing The Man Comes Around, and I didn't realize that wasn't part of the episode till it started playing Hurt. -
Recently I've felt like playing a good rpg, so the other day I decided to get The Witcher and give it a shot. The only problem is that I'm currently traveling for work, and the hotel that I'm staying at has a shitty internet connection. I think I could do it in a few hours at work, but I'm not sure how closely they monitor their network and I'm afraid it'd be considered inappropriate use. I could go someplace like Panera, but I wonder how fast their connections are and I'd feel a little bad being that guy hogging all the bandwidth. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could get 14.5 gigs onto my computer? Does anyone else have experience downloading Steam games away from home?

You'd have thought. Actually, while I was talking to the guy on the phone this morning he told me that they don't want people watching videos at all. I guess I should fire up w3m. That aside, I download the little that was left at work today. Naturally, the game doesn't even work. I was trying to run it in Crossover Office. But, all is not lost. I figured out how to install WeiDU mods for BGII in OSX while I was waiting for The Witcher to download, so I think I'll just play that.

Argh!!!! This hotel sucks! I was patiently downloading the game over a period of days, and had finally gotten within sight of the finish. Then, my computer got banned from the network. I called tech support, and got my internet back but still decided not to continue downloading the game further that day. In the evening, I started watching an extremely short flash video, and I got banned again! Argh! I can understand them trying to protect the network for the good of all of the guests, but, seriously, are there only two settings?

Oh man! I'm probably only half-way through it currently, but it's great.

I'd be interested in checking it out, if you have any left.

Kotor 2: The Sith Lords (now with additional content)
Moosferatu replied to lobotomy42's topic in Video Gaming
I don't know, I've been watching that project for years, and they've never ceased to surprise me. Just when I'm sure the project really is dead, they'll update. I think they'll finally release something in the next, eh, year or two. -

I wonder how what they did compares to this project. -
No kidding! My roommate and I forced ourselves to watch the entire first season, hoping it just need a little time to get into. God, it was horrid.

Idle Thumbs 45: Episode Forty-Five
Moosferatu replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
I went to Wadjet Eye back when Emerald City Confidential came out. I was disappointed to discover that it wouldn't run using Wine, and assumed the rest of the games wouldn't either. I decided to them yesterday, and it turns out it was a completely off base assumption, so I got them all. I'm really looking forward to playing them. Unfortunately, I just got a sweet new work computer today, so I'm torn between playing some adventure games or with my new computer. Sometimes life is such a biotic bitch. Oh, and until yesterday I confused Dave Gilbert with Dave Grossman... Maybe because his name is a fusion of Grossman's and Ron Gilbert's? -
I saw District 9 last weekend. I didn't love the trailers, and had fairly low expectations. It turned out to be quite enjoyable. I thought the first half or so was particularly well done. The second half was a little disappointing.

A word of warning to anyone considering getting it on the Wii, its audio is incredibly low quality.

Moon was very enjoyable, and, as an added bonus, it has Matt Berry in it!

I'm impressed. It looks like it's going to be great. I started playing CMI for the first time in probably six years or so. Well, I've attempted to play it a few times over the years, but Part I always disheartens me. I have high hopes this time though as I just completed Part I in the fewest clicks possible. Damn you, Wally. Is the Wii version coming out on the 7th as well?

It did have some great puzzles though.

I'd do the 2nd or 3rd SB episode. I prefer the 2nd.

Wow, that interviewer is terrible.

Sherlock Holmes Damn does it look terrible.

I just watched the trailer for The Road. It looks fantastic.

Well, I thought they made a good start exploring some interesting futurist ideas. While I largely don't agree with them, I think they make for enjoyable, often thought provoking, entertainment. I also thought that it was shot well, and, for the most part, had a good cast. I was particularly pleased to see Polly Walker, who was so very good in Rome.

I was pleasantly surprised, and thought it was quite enjoyable. I also think it has a lot of potential to turn into an interesting series.
