  1. anime

I've just recently started watching a little anime. For some reason I was prejudice against it in the past, but I recently gave it a shot discovered that some of it is really really good. Anyone have any suggestions on good stuff? I really haven't watched much of anything so far. As far as I can remember, I've just watched Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, and I'm on the last dvd of Cowboy Bebop. I've been checking some stuff out on youtube to see what I think. I just watched the first episode of Serial Experiments Lain, and was quite taken by it. I'll probably get it next from Netflix. The art direction is absolutely amazing. A friend of mine recommended Ghost in the Shell, but I haven't had a chance to check it out yet. um... I've also watched the first episode of Heavy Metal Alchemist and part of the first episode of Trigun. I didn't like Trigun at all, and wasn't sure about the other. I think that's about it.
  2. Psychonauts 2

    Support it now! https://www.fig.co/campaigns/psychonauts-2
  3. DOTA 2

I miss winter being on the panel.
  4. E3 2017

BG&E was such a whimsical and charming little game. I object to it being beat over the head with the bad-ass stick.
  5. DOTA 2

Watching their games today. w33 is pimping Campo Santo too. What the story?
  6. Full Throttle Remastered

Yeah, there were a few instances where the redrawn/3d stuff could have been better. For me, the worst of it was the demolition derby. None of it looked very good. But, on the whole the game looks good.
  7. Full Throttle Remastered

Just finished. They did a great job! I'd forgotten about the haiku at the end. Delightful.
  8. I've only watched the first episode so far, and it's exactly what I wanted but didn't think would get. The host segments were great.
  9. I'm mostly enjoying the game so far, but I could definitely do without all of the self-aware adventure game jokes.
  10. Torment: Tides of Numenera

I've enjoyed what I've played so far, but I really dislike how the combat works. I love the there are so few encounters (at least as far as I've gotten), but have gotten no pleasure out of the few there are.
  11. Torment: Tides of Numenera

    There's actually another outcome.
  12. Night in the Woods

I'm playing on PC. It's running off a solid state drive too, so I'm not sure what the deal is. The times weren't egregious, but were enough to make me plan out where I went to minimize loading. Also, I bunny hopped constantly. The stargazing was great. As were the poems. Getting a new poem was one of my favorite parts of each day, and it's even better when you can get a bonus one from the tunnel guy. I really liked the music when you wake up in the morning, and how you can just sit there and enjoy it for as long as you'd like.
  13. Night in the Woods

Wow. It is exceptional, and easily surpassed any expectations I had for it. It's much longer than I'd imagined it would be, and has a surprising amount of replayability (Though, I'll probably wait a bit before going through it again with the hope that they'll be able to get the load times down.).
  14. The Witness by Jonathan Blow

It's a great interview. Thanks for sharing. I love this game so much. I think I'll start playing it again. Hopefully it doesn't still make me motion sick, its achilles heel.
  15. AGDQ 2017

I enjoyed the Mario races last night. Generally speaking, I think the races are way more entertaining to watch. I also prefer watching people play the actual games supernaturally well rather than relying having skills glitching out of bounds.
  16. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

I thought it was alright. It was a good idea that didn't stick the landing. For me, the biggest problem was the two central characters. They are so flat and uninteresting, and their character "arcs" are at right angles. What's-her-face was particularly distressing because her motivation made no sense. Who is she and why is she assuming the role of corny motivational speaker? Oh, her dad is an engineer... I guess that makes sense?... I'm glad they tried a few new things though. Also, I found myself oddly bored by it, but I can't place my finger on exactly why.
  17. Full Throttle Remastered

Yeah, I'm really curious to see how the bike fighting is going to look.
  18. The title is deliciously ironic. "Dark Souls Happy Hour with Nick"
  19. XCOM 2

I can't answer your question, but I just started playing again and have encountered at least one bug involving the game not correctly returning player control following the viper king's reaction turn in certain circumstances.
  20. It was indeed some high quality entertainment. I feel like a Mr Magoo and a Larry David emoji may be called for.
  21. Idle Thumbs Streams

I wanted to watch some more Dark Souls while working on something else. So, I opened up Twitch, picked a stream at random, and was immediately treated to some guy explaining to me why feminism is stupid.
  22. Why would they get hate mail? It's a thoroughly underwhelming show, though episodes 5 and 6 were slightly better. It's incredible how little I care about any of the characters or figuring out what's going on. After episode 7 you can't help but compare it to BSG. I was emotionally invested in BSG's characters, and the cylon reveals (at least the early ones) were truly impactful. But, the equivalent in West World just made me yawn and check how much time was left in the episode.
  23. Tyranny, RPG by Obsidian

  24. Tyranny, RPG by Obsidian

My eyes glaze over when confronted with the lore of this game, but I do love Obsidian games, so I'm eager to see how this one turns out. I am all for short things.
