I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm almost happy my PC died.

I can relate to changing circumstances revealing sweet gaming experiences. For example, when I'm at a LAN party, I can play scary stuff like Lone Survivor and Amnesia. -
At work, I agree, but at home I only use the second one for a maximized uTorrent window I could probably do without.

Remember that video that was leaked a couple of years ago? Here's another: qy3b5lgvu5A I don't know what this is for (internal design concept thing, I guess) but if they're taking the game in this more realistic, contemporary-looking direction I'm on board. I can dig that toilet. Also, I liked that they used this: AKUVtlxwNXM

Yeah, but do you like it or hate it?

But the Law & Order one was the best thing they've made!

The Cave: Ron Gilbert's Double Fine Game (A Tim Schafer Production) (Not Double Fine Adventure)

Ah, okay. I'm reluctant to partake in betas in general, since I prefer my first experience with a game as polished as possible. -

Regarding the paid beta, I don't see the big problem. If there are people willing to pay for it before it's done, who enjoy playing an unfinished game, reporting stuff they find, etc. what's the problem? How is this not a win-win strategy? I see how it may contribute to the growing acceptance for releasing an unfinished product (see internet-connected consoles) but I'm not sure that's necessarily a negative, especially for smaller developers. -
Thanks for sharing.

You think it's likely that people in average will still pirate the exact same amount of stuff?

That's interesting! I'm assuming your phone is a 3GS or earlier(?) and that it has to do with name shortening thing. Unless you're on an iPad, in which case the app just has a different bundle display name or something.

I didn't found anything called Diablore, but I found one called Diablo III Lore.
-
I would like to catch up on my epic Diablo lore before this is out. What would be the best way? Wikipedia?

I'm afraid this kickstarter marks the point at which I stop backing game kickstarters just because they're game kickstarters.

I'll do you guys one better and not show a picture of my desk.

Looks like a lot of stuff is interactive. I like the design of the time table brochure. Environments looked a little sparse. I now expect this to be a game about figuring stuff out based on documents you found. This is probably wrong, but I still enjoy expecting it. The vocal fry on the short voice clip was grating. :violin:This is a only a brief pre-alpha video, and we know nothing else about the game, which means all my above observations and opinions are worthless. But I'm looking forward to this game!

Yup, instead of locking you in, they now want you to constantly experiment. Sounds really good.

This blog post about the new skill/talent system made me even keener to play it. [QUIXOTE]Thanks to Jay Wilson and the rest of Blizzard. I think this ability system with 6 slots, the lack of tech trees, the 5 runes per ability, the infinite instant free respecs, and the valor buff system overall is a very solid design. I'd go so far to say that it advances the craft of game design, even. Blizzard has come a long way in designing these kind of systems, and I think they've finally nailed it.[/QUIXOTE]

lol have fun not killing kids and everyone has green blood

Sounds pretty fun, though it sounds like the randomly generated stuff has to be pretty fantastic for it to remain fun for years and years.

Okay, so each character is totally separate, and a character's progress is defined by loot, XP and reaching "checkpoints" in the world?

Could someone who played the original games and/or the beta explain to me how Diablo 3 will work with regards to what's persistent, and how does it work with multiple characters/game sessions... is there such a thing as a game session? It's not an MMORPG, right? Or, to paraphrase: how are the character mechanics in Diable 3 different from, say, World of Warcraft?

Completed it, and thought it was very good. Definitely the most impressive thing I've seen from Telltale in terms of technology and design. It felt very modern – which is probably a stupid word for it – in that there was more focus on the cinematics and dialogue, and almost no classic rope-and-bucket puzzles, and also that there's stuff in there I wonder if will have an effect later on, like the energy bars and the radio ( .) Obviously they're able to let any number of variables carry over from game to game, but I have to imagine they want the number as low as possible in order to be able to control the branching. For the next games, I wish for: Higher quality voice audio. Bigger hot spots. Less hilariously titled Steam achievements that pop up at the most inopportune moments and ruin everything.

So here's a game that's only the stats of an RPG. I think it's fun, so I'm pretty sure I suck.
